  16. The only two test connectors are under the hood, by the pressure bottle for the coolant... And they won't give you much. '89 Was WELL before when the ECU's started doing the cool stuff. Rob L.

  20. Count me in Pete. Money is on the way. Rob L.
  21. Anything that was kinda bad before, will move and jump more with the bigger heft of the new tires... I would check all the joints, with special attention to the track bar and pitman arm areas. Rob L.
  22. I would imagine you would want to match the stall of the engine thats in it to let it work at its proper torque range. So I would use the torque converter that matches the engine... Unless they have the same stall range, then I would use the one with the V8 trans. That said... I believed the transmissions in those were different. I know behind the 6 they put the 42RE, and thought behind the 8 was a 44RE. Rob L. :dunno:
  23. Totally agree. What they offer you is not set in stone. Even if you think its a great number, ask for more... Oh, and ask for a clean title, if it ends up being not too bad. And buy the truck back. Usually its only about $100. Then take all the good MJ stuff off the old one in preparation of finding a new one. Good luck with recovery. Rob L.
