  1. My weatherstripping that runs vertically between the window and the fixed wing window is shot so I bought a new set. Before I tear into this project does anyone have experience replacing these? What is the best way to remove the old one's, etc? Thanks in advance.
  2. Mine had an intermittent problem like that. I replaced the starter and all is well.
  3. Heating the bolt cherry red and melting paraffin will sometimes work. The heat will draw the melted paraffin down into the seized threads.
  4. I believe those are the vacuum hoses to the front axle disconnent.
  5. My similar noise was a clicking from the right rear when making a left turn. The spring that supported the E-brake cable had broken which allowed the cable to swing over into the wheel as the truck turned.
  6. When I upgraded to the 746's I couldn't believe how smooth the old gal ran, not to mention a noticible seat of the pants power increase.
  7. Did it run OK before your project? Sounds like maybe MAP sensor problems. You may have disrupted vacuum lines during your work. Inspect all of the vacuum lines for cracks and loose connections.
  8. Here are the replacement plugs I bought. One is for drain the other for fill: M18 X 1.5 thread O2 sensor bung M16 X 1.5 thread Drain Sump plug Both available on eBay. Also, fill it with Red Line 75w90 NS fluid. You won't be sorry.
  9. If you need to replace the manifold gasket be sure you have a set of swivel sockets (not just a swivel). Ask me how I know ....
  10. Listen closely then shut off the nozzle when you hear gas getting close to the top.
  11. Make sure the little white rings are in position also.
  12. It's threaded on to the shifter. There are flats for a wrench. Just unscrew it.
  13. Thanks everyone for the responses.
  14. I've been running Red Line 75W90 NS GL-5 Gear Oil. Works great!
  15. I pulled the valve cover off to perform Criuser's valve cover mod and replace the gasket. The valve train is really cruddy. My thought is to spray everything down with carb cleaner and scrape all the crud out with a screwdriver and my fingers before replacing the cover. Naturally I'll perform an oil change immediately after. Any other ideas? Thanks.
  16. I'm guessing clogged catalytic convertor.
  17. I believe the guage is connected to the fuse block. For the most accurate reading the connection should possibly be made directly to the battery terminal.
  18. Those flex-sockets look like they would work perfect. I'll be getting a set of those. Thanks for the tip.
  19. What combo of wrench, socket, wobbler is needed to work on the lower manifold bolts? (Renix 4.0) I tried every combo in my toolbox and finally gave up. Put everything back together and will live with a small exhaust leak.
  20. Are you saying drain my M1 75w90 and replace with redline 75w90? I get that the redline blend might be a bit better but I thought objective was to add some thickening 'body' to the mix. Mudd, I haven't done anything yet. I replaced leaking Fuel Injectors Wednesday night which were higher priority since I was dumping raw gas into the engine compartment. Then I replaced the valve cover gasket last night to cut down on the steady leak in my driveway. Tonight I will plan to tackle this: I am leaning heavily towards getting a can of STP, siphon a bit of the 75w out of the fill hole, and replace with the treatment. It's both cheaper (in the short term) and simpler than draining the box and refilling with heavier 85w, the lucas treatment, or the fancier redline 75w product. This morning I was surprised with woefully inadequate heat to combat the 25 degrees of Chattanooga's first cold morning. The thermostat looks to be working as it heated up to 210 in ~5 minutes so I guess I will check my HCV to see if it's stuck or look at bleeding air out of the system via a post I saw from Eagle on opening the pressure cap and letting it heat up and watch the bubbles. The more I fix on this truck, the more that needs to be fixed. That's what I'm sayin'. If you put in/make your fluid too slippery the synchronizers won't work correctly.
  21. Use this and never look bck. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?product=58304
  22. Absolutely do everything on the list and install 4-port injectors. Mine runs like it's new since I did these.
