Headlights work on "high beam" setting only.
reubj replied to reubj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It looks like one of the relays is bad but I still get low voltage on the passenger side. I'm going to take the easy way out and install a new harness. -

Thank you for the replies. -
I did the relay harness install several years ago and worked great. A few years after that the passenger side light went very dim. A few months ago neither light will work on the low beam setting. High beams work fine, except the dim passenger side. Point me in the right direction. Thanks! 1989 MJ Renix

When driving the truck while wearing large hunting boots there is barely room for the boot to fit between the brake pedal and the trans tunnel. Does anyone else experience this? I wonder if it's the original design or the previous owner used a different pedal assembly for a rebuild.

Mine runs 210° all day long.

I'm about to replace the front shocks on my MJ that has about 140k miles. While I'm under there are there any fairly easy suspension parts that I should replace? Nothing is broken or way out of whack, just normal wear and tear. Thanks for the suggestions.

My '89 suddenly was soaked on the passenger floor. I checked the windshield and everything was OK. I took the cowling cover off exposing the wiper mechanism. Way back under the fender a mouse had built a huge nest blocking the drain holes. Once I cleaned it out no more leaking.

I used small zip ties in several holes. Just snip them off after starting a few bolts. -

Could there be flywheel issues or maybe the CPS isn't mounted close enough to the flywheel?
-
I have a "closed" system. I installed one of those Prestone "Flush and Fill" tees in one of the heater hoses. Never a problem getting air out of the system.

I always try to listen for the fuel getting close to the top then shut off the hose before it sloshes out. -

Make sure the TPS has a good ground. That's exactly ho mine would act. -
High idle after cleaning connectors

Check the ground connections at the dipstick. A loose connection caused the exact same thing to occur on my Renix. -
Only 1 brake/ turn signal works
reubj replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had a similar problem and it was from a trailer wiring job done by the previous owner. Clean that up and check the factory harness connector under the bed just behind the gas tank. Mine was very corroded and contributed to the problem. -
I want to improve my MJ traction. Presently I have a Dana 30 with disconnect in the front and Dana 35 in the rear. Most of my driving is on the pavement. I go off-road during hunting season; snow and mud. No hard core wheeling. I’m not interested in axle swapping. I’d like you suggestions as to how to improve traction. Limited slip or locker, front, rear, both? Which brands? Thanks in advance

Front Wheel Hub Assembly, recommendations?
reubj replied to Jess's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Timken or SKF for me. I was lucky and found a NOS Mopar hub on eBay.
