  1. Also here's a picture of them naping on our walk last weekend
  2. It varies, they can be as short 15-20 min To upwards of over an hour, though if I'm planning on a longer walk i need to bring some food and water for the little guys.
  3. Spent the last two nights working on it, still no luck also i have a few pictures, illtry to post them before morning for you early riseres.
  4. I bought the ramcharger, we pushed around the block to my girlfriend's family's place where me and her dad tore into it, first we just just tried putting gas in it and a battery to see if we could get luck. No dice. It fired once then belched a small flame out the carb and that was the best we got. The PO did say that it had jumped timing, so we pushed into his garage and took out all the accessories then the timing cover, We get the cover off set the timing marks up with changing anything and low and behold they line up perfectly, though the chain is looser then my one size fits all coveralls. So we put the new one on but left the old gear there, as they are a much better quality then the replacements and still lool great compared to the old ones. That's far as we got tonight, plan for tomorrow is put all the new seals in then put the truck back together and do what we should have done first and check the plugs as well as the cap and router. Because other than gas we did literally nothing else. Also ill make sure not to forget my phone so i can grab some pictures for you guys.
  5. This on is 318 single barrel carb. So by no means a beast.
  6. Here's a picture of the little guys, though it's a few months old. Also i will neither confirm nor deny my stealing of the ramcharger
  7. is that indent by the door a tailor made spot for a shovel?
  8. Back story. So in my girlfriends neighborhood there has been this ram charger that has just been sitting there, we've been dating for close to 3 years but we've known each other for closer to 6, and in all this time the truck has just sat there. fast forward to last week I was walking my ferrets, and the owner walks out of his house, I asked him about the truck, he replies that it belong to his father and that he doesn't know much about it other than it's been sitting for the last 8 years, but that if I wanted more info he'd take my number and pass it along. A week after that I get a text with the following info. Replaced Brakes, windshield, all steering components and a few other small thing. but it need a timing chain, but he has one an is willing to sell it the truck. and that either I give him 100$ for it as is, or 500$ for it fixed and running, but I wouldn't get it till the end of the month. now fast forward another week(today) and I take the time to actually look and the rest of the truck including turning over the engine both by hand and with the key, and by luck it not seized, nor does it seem to have a bent valve. Wednesday I'm giving him 100$ and pushing it to my girlfriends family's place where her dad and I our going to try and get it running before the end of the week, if it need more then the known fix plus oil, filter and gas it's gone. i'll get some pictures of it Wednesday when I pick it up. Edit,
  9. I think that might just be a thing north of the arctic circle, our taho was so muddy after driving the dempster you legitimately could not read let alone see if the truck had a plate they didn't even care.
  10. So would I. Ummm ... where the heck is Nunavut? Above the tree line in the arctic. Nunavut used to be part of the North West Territory before the split it in half for whatever political reasons. So it's tundra and rock all around here. Everything that comes here did so at a great expense, so nothing ever leaves, if it dies it's just abandoned in place or scavenged for parts. kind of unrelated but I just finished up working in Inuvik, was there for 5 day, I also spent a few hours just outside of tuk at a tower site. also is there no ice road in the winter like to tuk?
  11. Your 2.8 experience may vary, but i hated mine. Didn't help that it was clapped out thought.
  12. Not that I could afford it, but If something like that went into production it would be the perfect size truck for me. Though I agree it could use a slightly longer box, I don't need a full-size truck, so something like a 1/2 ton is too much, smaller truck like MJ, Dakotas and rangers are all the truck I need, but no one makes those anymore, even the Tacoma and the new Colorado are a lot bigger then then their older counter part. I only wish that the MJ had an extended cab like my dad's 08 ranger then it would be the perfect truck. also as far as modern cars go I actually don't mind the look of it.
  13. cool thank you. I'd like to keep the 242 but they don't seem to be that common where I live, hell even finding an XJ in a JY is lucky.
  14. In my jeep I'm using a 1990 ax15 and a 1990 np242(from an auto trans). The ax15 has a 23 spline count where as my 242 only has 21. Can i grab an input from a 23 spline 231 and put it in my 242?
  15. Yup. Probably an r32 based off the taillights.
  16. I'd take one of those over a Ferrari or a lambo anyday.
  17. The stock tank of either truck should work. I don't think that the 2.5 and 4.0 harness are the same. But ask the tech section about that. Not the whole front end, just the rad support. Onlyinajeep has a post on how to do it on his 86 build
  18.
  19. Nice. Any plans for the motor or just leaving it stock for now?
  20. I see this and all I can think of is the ghost busters.
  21. I'm pretty certain you are referring to part number 20 in the parts manual illustration. It's called a "reinforcement," not a spacer, and it doesn't go between the flex plate and the flywheel, it goes outside of (behind) the flex plate. Yup that's it. So it's not necessary in manual transmission application
  22. Little update on the car. The thermostat stop functioning which caused things to happen, not cool things to happen (if ya catch my drift) had to replace t-stat the gasket and some random hose going from the water pump to the intake manifold. No pictures because i was afraid it was something more serious and didn't want to waste to much time
  23. When I removed the flex plate off of my donor motor there was a thin spacer between it and the crank, do i need this spacer when i install my flywheel? If you guys want/need a picture of what I'm talking about let me know.
  24. Thanks, now i want to buy an old ford ton and a half and throw an mj body on the front.
