Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. So I figured out why the plug wasn't in right, top connector has different pins in the 4.0 plug compared to the 2.5. I plan to splice the 4.0 harness into the 2.5 plug so I can just plug it into the fuse block. Lower plug is the same between the two. Does anybody have a good diagram of 88 4.0 or 89 2.5? I noticed there is a yellow wire on the 4.0 that does not match up with anything on the 2.5 plug and on the 2.5 plug there is a red wire not going to one on the 4.0 maybe they are both the hot wire and just a different color? Time for some research
  2. Well I figured out the plug was not in all the way, but the bolt is, bolt is now stripped due to me not paying enough attention while trying to remove it. So now I've got a bolt holding the connector in and the plug not in all the way because it pushed right over the bottom lip of the fuse box part. I'm going to try and get a back me out in there to bring the bolt out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I've definitely got the right size, it's 1/4" and it's definitely a pain to get the right angle on. I checked for power at all of the fusible links and had power. Power stopped and that wire you're talking about is hooked up as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Alright guys everything for the truck is hooked up, I have power to my starter and alternator. But no lights, dash, nothing, turn key and nothing happens at all. Any ideas where to look? Update: I checked and didn't have power to anything behind the firewall, so I started unbolting the main harness that goes into the fuse box and I think the bolt is stripped now... Anyone have a tip on how I remove it now? Feeling like I may have really messed up now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Moving along with progress slowly but it's getting there, still a handful of things left to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Knock sensor. Thanks, I was told by a few people that they're not important, my question is why would they not be important? I'll be replacing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Can anybody tell me what this is? I broke it removing the plug to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. . Of course, the one time I come into a sliding window Anyways I worked in the rain for a while today, got the harness hooked up to the motor, mounted the alternator and power steering, mounted tranny and tcase. Then called it a night because I was soaked and didn't feel like staying out there longer. I checked to see if my driveshaft will fit and unfortunately my tom woods heavy duty driveshaft is too long, I'll have to get it shortened, and my front driveshaft is too short, looks like I'll be ordering from Tom again. Was really hoping they would fit but I knew they wouldn't. Tomorrow I'll probably work on the rest of the dash and interior panels that I want to swap since it's going to rain again. 9. Anybody have tips on removing rear window? Trying to take out the sliding glass window so I can put it in my truck. Broke one of the solid panes thinking I had gotten through the seal but I guess not. I did remove the gasket already Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Need to take more pictures so this isn't such a boring build sorry guys that donor fuel filter looks pretty bad to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Took both fuel pumps out, put my dash in, and got motor in myself, what a PITA that was doing it with tranny and tcase attached. Now it should go smoothly from here. Picking up a new fuel pump tomorrow or Tuesday, going to rain until Wednesday but hoping it stops a little so I can get some work in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Donor harness is installed in my truck, I also replaced the Valve cover gasket and head gasket yesterday and the motor seems to be in excellent shape. My old motor... Not so much. Pulled the head off of that and the piston head is starting to break apart in cylinder 3, and in cylinder 1 and 4. Still need to remove fuel pump from the donor, apparently that won't be too fun, I'm sure by then end of sitting under it I'll be buried under a pile of rust. Better get to working on it and I'll update later on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I've got no interest from people up in New England wanting anything unfortunately but I am going to be taking the tail lights for myself since I have a cracked driver side one, the passenger one on donor is cracked and I'm hoping to get that rear window into my truck, been wanting a sliding one for a while but I will post up the other parts for sale definitely. 14. Weather is so on and off with rain and sun but I got some work done today. Pulled the harness from the donor, and the motor mounts that bolt to the chassis, also got some of the interior pulled, just about done molesting this truck then it'll go to the scrap yard. Pulled the harness out of my truck too, and started swapping over motor mounts. Probably little to no progress this weekend, I'm thinking about going up north for a weekend motorcycle cruise. 15. Could anybody explain to me what is considered the underhood harness? Is it all of the wiring that is in the engine bay? Including wires that go into firewall, or just the big main plug that goes into fuse panel, then along drivers fender accross headlight harness to all the plugs on passenger fender? Not sure if I just need to unplug all those and they plug into my harness in my 2.5 there, going to be working on the removing harness's from both vehicles today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
