  1. Good point. Maybe just some loose carpet pieces or removable rubber mats. Since I took the carpet and insulation out, it gets HOT down around the console area.
  2. I'm thrilled with them. Not bad for $20 each. Now to get a console and put something on the floor. It's been recommended that I do something like rhino liner on the floor.
  3. Ha...look at that. It worked. Aren't those seats just beautiful?
  4. So, the buckets are in but it wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. Apparently the seats I pulled from the donor comanche weren't comanche seats. I had to cut the brackets off those buckets and off my bench then weld my bench brackets to the new buckets. Once I did that, they bolted in like a dream. They appear to be the rocker style because the brackets aren't straight and I sit about 2' higher now which is fine but I'm going to have to figure out how to put an extension on my clutch pedal. I'm short and for me to reach it comfortably now I have to pull the seat closer than I like. Fixed it. Thanks Pete!
  5. So go have a beer. Send any contributions to http://www.cruiserdeservesanIPA.com. I had several the day I finished. I'll have several this evening after work to celebrate one more day of no oil in my catch can. This will be a daily celebration.
  6. Needed a starter. Second one in less than a year. Good news is the bad starter was still under warranty. Didn't cost me anything except some hand cleaner.
  7. That would be a sister and yes, there's at least two of us now.
  8. So, the mod posted here seems to have worked. Cut the vent pipes inside the valve cover down about an inch and cleared the little pin hole. Nothing going into my catch can so far. Awesome! Thanks to everyone for your help.
  9. I edited my original post. After grinding the extensions off, you're right, they look like they'll bolt right in. What did you grind? To install MJ bucket seats into an MJ no grinding of anything is required. Whoever put them in the MJ that I took them out of welded extensions on the outer bracket legs of both seats. Looks like he/she had to move the bolts in the donor MJ for some reason. The brackets now look normal and should bolt right up.
  10. I edited my original post. After grinding the extensions off, you're right, they look like they'll bolt right in. As for the seatbelts....I'm gonna have to go back and take some good penetrating oil. I tried to get them out and they just were NOT budging plus it started pouring rain and I didn't feel like fooling with them. I may try and make something for the seatbelts I have to make them stay up.
  11. OK, I'm searchtarded. I can find several write ups about making XJ buckets fit but nothing about switching an MJ bench with MJ Buckets. Do these just bolt in or do I need to take the mounting brackets off the bench and replace the mounting brackets on the buckets? It doesn't appear to me that the bolt pattern for the bench matches the bolt pattern the buckets but I could be wrong. OK, well, on a closer examination of my new bucket seats, it looks like whoever put them in the MJ I took them out of welded extensions on the front and back outer brackets so they could move the bolts over. I'm going to grind those off and see if my seat will then just bolt into my MJ.
  12. I like your work ethic. Like mine. It's all about priorities.
  13. YOu're right...totally looked past the gasket statement. I didn't replace them. I'll look again for the pinhole. Got everything else done. Letting it sit for a bit before cranking. Gonna go have a beer.
  14. I have the valve cover off and the two pipes that look like triangle chimney stacks are off. When I took them off, there's a brass looking gasket but there was also something that appeared to be a gasket between the brass piece and the valve cover. It was hard and crumbled. I had to scrape it off with my screwdriver. What was that and does it need to be replaced? Also, there's already a hole in the tube facing the back. I'll cut the pipe down and clean out the holes already there. I see nothing plastic with a pinhole in it.
  15. I'm checking that and ground wire when I get home today.
  16. Could any of these vacuum lines or electrical wires have anything to do with the starter or cause this truck to not start suddenly? Could anything I have done under the truck when bleeding the clutch or cutting those vacuum lines and two electric wires cause the truck to not start? This has happened twice. I crank it and it acts like a low battery. Turn the key off and back on then it started just fine. I drove to work and turned it off. Tried to crank it again immediately and it lugged then started. Next day it cranked like a charm in the morning and again after work. Today, cranks just fine first time out then I get home and turn it off. Tried to crank again and nothing. Second time and it started but it sounded like something was spinning a little under the hood. I get it backed into the drive way and turn it off. Try to crank again and nothing. once or twice it acted like it was going to turn over then nothing. No sounds no clicking, not nothing. I have lights, guages and power but not starting. The starter is almost brand new. I put that on last fall. Don't think it's the battery because when it does crank it's perfect. The only thing I've done to it is what we did under the car bleeding the clutch and cutting those melted vacuum lines and two electrical lines that feed back to the rear transaxle. Any ideas?

  18. And this will cause 4wd all the time right? And for some reason, the pictures are not loading for me.
  19. The pictures didn't load for me.
  20. Mine is internal as well. Did you do the repair or have it done? If you had it done, what did it cost you?
  21. No not under the truck. INSIDE above the fuse box. OK
