Wiper fluid spraying issue
Virginia replied to Whitaker717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm having the same problem. Wipers work fine but I can't hear the pump so no fluid spraying on my windshield. I assume the fluid pump is under the cowel that looks like air vents at the base of the windshield. Does the pump work on a separate fuse from the wiper motor? -
That's beautiful ill6get in touch with him and thank you

Hot engine, smoke and sticky brakes

This morning, I went out to move the truck. Drove like nothing was wrong. No sticky brakes. Baffled -
I have a friend who has an older cherokee. I'll ask him who works on his.

Will depend on what needs to be done. Suspension to a suspension, clutch--not sure yet, drivetrain--not sure but all would be taken to someone that specializes in that. I'm in Memphis, TN

I inherited a little bit of money when my mom passed. I need to spend a little bit on the truck. I'm thinking of taking it to the jeep dealership to have them go over it and give me a list of things that must be done. Should I tell them they won't be doing the work or not?

Water in passenger side footwell
Virginia replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On your advice, I pulled that a long time ago. Sure heats that cab up though and makes it dodgy to put anything on the floor that might melt. -

Water in passenger side footwell

I don't. I have seen the water running down the front of the footwell appearing to be coming from the blower motor housing. -

I'll try this. The odd thing is it doesn't do it every time it rains. And there's no real pattern to when it does happen. I hadn't though about the antenna grommet. -
This weirdness happened Sunday. It's hot here in Tennessee. I was driving my truck around 1 in the afternoon. I noticed a smell like melting plastic coming inside my cab. I got home and pulled into the driveway with no resistance. I saw a small puff of smoke coming out from underneath but it didn't last long. I also noticed the temp guage higher than usual but not in the red zone. I got a hose and ran some water over the radiator then took a cloth and while running water over the cap, I took the cap off and of course hot rusty water spewed out. I ran water in the opening until it stopped spewing and until it was full again. Them temp dropped back down to usual. The odd thing is that when I put it in gear and backed out, it acted like the emergency brake didn't fully release. I felt the drag both in reverse and forward. Calipers sticking? I haven't checked the brake fluid. I'll do that this afternoon. Just thought about that but any other ideas of that might cause this?

Seat belt replacement (but now radio doesn't work)
Virginia replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm gonna try it. I can connect the black to the black wire marked "B" and the green/black to the "A" wire then ground and see what happens. -

Yes, I know you did AZJeff but when I download and open them the print is tiny and if I try to enlarge, the writing gets blurred. Either way, I can't read it. I went back and tried to read them again. It was a little better but I can't see anything that goes to a green and black wire and a solid black wire that is spliced in at the back of the cab. -
Seat belt replacement (but now radio doesn't work)

I took the female side of the seatbelt apart today and found this. I took these just to show the series of what I found when I took them apart. The third one is the important one, I think. The black wires were connected to those copper spade looking things. My guess is that when the male side of the seatbelt was inserted, it either made or broke a circuit. I can tell because when I opened it, that little white piece at the tip of the spade connectors sprung so I don't know if it was pulled back under the tips or was like it is now, tripped forward. The black wires are labeled "A" and "B" but I can't find a diagram that I can read that shows me what color wire the "A" and "B" were connected to. The pdf files I was sent are too small for me to read. I'm checking my chilton to see if it shows. Am I even close to correct with me theory? -

Yes. Seemed well made. If what I have fits your model, you can have them for shipping costs. This is what I bought https://www.ebay.com/itm/374308355755
