Replaced passenger side window
Virginia replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'll pull the panel and check the triangle. It was a body shop that did this. I'd take it back but it takes FOREVER to get it back. I'll look at the channels and no, it's not part of my leaking issue. -
Water leaking into floorboard of passenger side

Can I get a replacement rear hood lid gasket? -
Water leaking into floorboard of passenger side

Where is that drain? I might agree with that except I can see where it's running down the motor side of my firewall and pooling right below the fan motor then getting behind the gasket and into the passenger foot well. -
Water leaking into floorboard of passenger side

OK. How do I stop the leak? -
And now it's next to impossible to roll up and down. What could bind it?

The water is coming in at the bottom of the heater fan housing down into the passenger floorboard to the point of several inches if it's a really hard rain. I was told that if you take the wipers off and take that mesh cover off I would find a weep hole that has become clogged. So, I did. If there's a weep hole in that space, I sure as hell can't find it and can't see how water would get from that trough down to that rubber seal around the heater blower. I'm considering drilling a hold just below the fan housing but am not certain that it would come out on the engine side of the firewall. Any other suggestions?

So, here's what I have. The first pic is of the wires from the existing B column light that no longer comes on. The second picture is the schematic that came with my replacement lights. I think the red is the hot wire. I'm not sure which of the other 2 would be the switch wire and the ground wire. -

What's the red wire for? -
I have a red, black and yellow wire going to my current courtesy lights. Which one is the power wire?

My truck was hit from behind
Virginia replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Eagle...short bed. I won't let them total it. She has already said I can go pick it up from the body shop since it's driveable. I'll talk to her tomorrow. The owner of that truck that that was sent to me in an early response has already responded. Says it is 500. 5.5 hour drive from my house then would have to tow it back. I will probably do that after I talk to the insurance company. Thanks everyone for the advice. -

My truck was hit from behind

Not yet. She was still trying to decide the value of the truck and would get back with me. -
It was hit while parked legally on the street. There's damage to the bumper and the passenger side tail light assembly and that part of the truck bed side. The insurance company is telling me they're going to total it because the body shop can't find parts and because the cost to repair is a certain percentage over the value of the vehicle. 1. I'm going to fight with the insurance company about repairs. I believe it should be repaired because the driver that hit me didn't have insurance and because there's no way I was negligent. 2. If I don't win that fight, how on earth would I repair the damage to the bed side? I've attached pictures to show the damage. I can't get a bumper and tail light assemble from a junk yard but not a truck bed unless I can find a comanche and either cut that piece then weld it to mine for find an entire bed. I think.

I own both.

The blower doesn't work at any speed.
-
So, I put a new resistor in and that didn't fix it. Still no blower. I can hear all the things opening and closing behind the dash but no blower. Could the plug on the wiring harness be bad? Oops... Just remembered that I needed to check the ground and make the connection closer thought it's worked in the past without moving the ground. How do I test the plug? How hard is it to take off the dash to see the switch?
-
Sorry...no. I have the switch on all the time.
-
I'll check the grounds again. The resistor could be corroded because it's right in the area of the leak I was having in the passenger footwell. I think I have that fixed.
-
Nope. I replaced it about 2 years ago.
-
I'm ready to pull my hair out about this. Now, I can be driving down the road and the fan will come on then after a short while it will just turn off again. It's intermittent now. Tells me it's a connection. I've checked grounds and they're all good. the connection to the fan motor is good because I can hook that directly to the battery and the fan runs great. Could the resistor cause an intermittent problem? Poltergeist?
-
I'll pull it and check it.
-
Thanks
-
No, it does not. The last time I had this problem, I first replaced the fan and that didn't work then replaced the resistor and it worked for about 2 years then stopped again recently. I don't know why a resistor would go bad so quickly nor do I know how to test to see if the resistor is good. Does one Ohm that? If it's the switch, would that mean tearing out my dashboard to get behind there and look? I'm not even sure what I'd be looking for?
-
More on this sage. I took the fan out and reconnected it to the battery. Ran fine. put it back in and turned the truck on but still no blower. So, either the resistor or the switch?
