  1. Will do, and thanks.
  2. I haven't looked under it yet. I assume that's a trip under the truck to look.
  3. I've checked the little tube that comes off the top of the valve cover and that's clear. What else gets gummed up?
  4. My comanche has 178K miles on it, needs either a master or slave cylinder and has major blowby telling me it needs a ring job. How much am I looking at pumping in to her to fix all of that and is it worth it? If I were to sell her now, how much do you think I could get? What would you guys do?
  5. That didn't fix it. My slave cylinder is internal. Would you change the master next or just dive right into the slave cylinder?
  6. I wouldn't have any idea. What's that?
  7. So yesterday I'm working under the truck to bleed the clutch and see that some wires have fallen on top of the exhaust pipe and melted all together. They go the the shift case and transfer case. Two electrical wires and 4 small vacuum hoses. Needless to say, they'd been fused together. I cut them and put the wires back together but have no clue which vacuum hose goes to which. Does this come as some sort of harness or am I going to have to try and follow a diagram and put new hoses on one at a time? I'm also assuming that I have no 4 wheel drive until this is fixed. I fused the hoses closed and the truck works fine except for my continued clutch problem.
  8. Bled the line and that seems to have solved the problem. I'll know after a few days of driving.
  9. I would have but had no tools with me other than a screwdriver.
  10. Junkyard SCORE! Found a release handle from a red comanche for $2 AND found grey cloth bucket seats. Guess where I'll be next Saturday. Would have pulled them today but have to be somewhere at 4. It's got a good tailgate that I may take just to keep. It's red but I can paint that. I'll take pics if anybody wants me to.
  11. I don't need the whole cable. I just need the piece that goes from the handle down to the flap that releases the brake pedal. It's about 8" long.
  12. Anybody know where I can find a replacement for the little handle you pull to release the emergency brake? I have a 91 6cyl, 4.0 4wd. Can't find one on ebay unless I'm not using the right name for it.
  13. Going to work on that this afternoon. Have a friend who is going to help. I've seen the write up about the leaks by the fuse box but if it were leaking, wouldn't the fluid reservoir be low? I check it and it's completely full. I don't see anything on the inside by the clutch but am getting something oily by the gas pedal. Not much. Not puddling or anything but just enough to put a sheen on the floor.
  14. I have a 91 6cyl 4.0 5 speed and I'm having clutch issues. There's plenty of fluid. Sometimes I can't get it to disengage from first or reverse. If I pump it once or twice it will work and it doesn't do it all the time. I've had one person tell me it's the clutch cylinder. How hard is this to change and what's its proper name?
  15. I'm sorry. It's a 91. My motorcycle is the 96.
  16. If I were towing 4 on the ground, could I just put it in neutral? Because when I have it in neutral on a hill it will just roll. I'm guessing that there would be a problem because if on the tow dolly the front wheels wouldn't be rolling. Perhaps, I'll just tow the car down. It's time the boys learned how to drive a stick anyway.
  17. To make sure I was clear, I'm not flat towing, I'm towing front end off the ground locked in a tow dolly. Sounds like it's a pain in the @$$ to do.
  18. I have a 96 4.0 4wd that I need to tow to FL. I have a tow dolly. Can I do this and if so, how?
  19. I'm still working on that one.
  20. Day 2. No lifter rattle.
  21. I'll check it tomorrow. Happy to report that there was no rattle today when I drove it. Added Marvel Mystery oil to the crankcase. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
  22. I check that little tube periodically. I'll check it again.
