  1. I need to replace the stock speakers. What would you all recommend?
  2. I can't do anything until next weekend. Will it be OK to drive until then? Also, I have a sheet of stuff to make your own gasket. I used it to make a gasket for the carburetor on the MG. Will that work if I have enough?

  4. Well, I think I have discovered and perhaps fixed my oil leak. I went out to tighten the bolts on the valve cover and discovered that every single one of them were finger loose. I could turn all of them with my fingers so I started tightening them until they were snug. No, I don't have a torque wrench. Yes, I plan to get one now because in my zealousness to tighten them I broke one off. Part of the bolt is still in the block. Two questions. 1. How hard is that to fix? 2. Will cause me problems until I fix it? I started the engine up and it runs just fine. I looked under the truck and saw nothing dripping and watched around that bolt and saw no oil coming out. It's in a great spot. Right up front. If you're facing the engine it's right there on the front right.

  6. The 55 was too big for mine. I had to use the 50.

  8. Mission Change Seatbelt has been accomplished. Mine took the #50 torx. The #55 was too big. It wasn't all that hard and I didn't have to take the seat out. I pulled the seat all the way forward and leaned the back up then crawled in from the passenger side. One squirt of wd40 was all it took. wd40 was all I had so I used it. The old came out easily. The new slid in easily and bolting back down was a cinch. All is well. Next are the shocks. That'll probably have to wait until next weekend.
  9. Thanks. The new part is on its way so I'll go get the set tomorrow. I'll let you know if I have any problems doing this.
  10. How about I get one of each and return the one that doesn't work? They can't be that expensive. I'm in TN so a little ways from the rustbelt.
  11. I don't think mine has ever been wrecked but I know it's had its glass broken three times and it's had the driver's lock popped twice. Right now, the damage was such that I couldn't repair it on my own like I did the first time. They actually broke the lock and I just haven't replaced it yet. It's going to require a little body work and I'm not prepared to do that. I just don't want to spend the money. Anyway, I still find glass every once in a while so I'm sure there's some under there.
  12. I know...I'll fix it correctly. Probably won't hurt to pull that seat anyway. No telling the amount of dirt under it.
  13. Holy moly, take the seat out. How about I just use a carabiner slipped through the loop in the belt on the female side then clicked through the hole on the male side? Mucho work for a seatbelt. Lawd
  14. Does anybody have a good diagram for changing seatbelts in my 91? My Haynes doesn't have anything in it and I need to replace the female part of the passenger belt.
  15. I guess I know what I'll be doing next weekend.
  16. What kind should I get?
  17. How do-it-yourself are those for someone who has basic tools and only a driveway to work in?
  18. I've picked up a little bounce in the front when I hit dip or a bump. It's like my front end won't settle right back down. Is that bad shocks?
  19. Most of the nastiness is below the spark plug line. If you can't spray, how else does one clean an engine?
  20. Sweet. Thanks for the suggestions. I may try to tackle this today.
  21. I've got a nasty oil leak and can't find the source so I thought I'd clean the engine then look for it. Weird thins is that on some days it leaks a lot and on others it doesn't leak any. What's the best way to clean the engine? i was thinking of self-serve car wash so it would capture the runoff but am worried about spraying a hot engine. Thoughts? I have a 91 6cyl, 4wd, 5 speed.
  22. I'm in Tennessee but am not ready to buy just yet. We haven't picked out the trailer yet.
  23. What sort of gas mileage am I looking at? Now we're looking at a trailer around the 5000 lb size.
