Not necessarily but it wouldn't hurt to clean them . Right now make checking for spark your priority -

Most likely you would have a bad crank postioning sensor (CPS) and there are plenty of renix upgrades that can be done also ( cruiser) -

Still check for spark when you can get a friend , unless you have a timing light -

Water pump is the same , housing is the same also unless you wanted the temp sensor in the thermostat housing. on the renix there located at the drivers side towards the bottom of the block and the 91 and newer are located in the thermostat housing( to my knowledge it doesn't matter ) -

Ok to check for spark. if you still have one of you're old spark plugs Disconnect the spark plug wire at the spark plug on any cylinder , plug an old plug into into any wire that you disconnected and ground the spark plug base to a head bolt . Have a friend handy, take a pair of insulated pliers and hold the base of the plug to the head bolt while your buddy cranks it over. You should see a bluish spark if you don't see a spark let us know then well go from there -

Do you remember how you changed the wires/ plugs? Do you know if you're getting spark / fuel ? -

The firing order would not cause a 1 click problem . When the truck was parked was anything messed with until you started working on it ? If not I would pull one plug and one wire at a time and change them all which I know you changed them but if you put them in a different order it will not run. Being you have a Haynes manual locate tdc ( top dead center ) and make sure that the distibutor is at #1 cylinder and run the firing order correctly -

Do you have bigger tires / lift on your truck ? If you are easy on the drivetrain may I suggest cv shafts they are constantly lubricated and are less prone to failure when used for light duty . Most manufactures also offer lifetime warranties on the cv shafts so you'll never have to buy another -

Door Locks And Window Problems
Strokermjcomanche replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Both the power locks and windows ARE factory ( no holes in the door panels and I've had the panels off and no rivet marks where the manual regulator would have been installed) . I'm the second owner of the truck with only 65k on the speedo . all windows and lock work correctly with a 12v system hooked up the them directly but when plugged in to the vehicles wiring harness the passenger window neither goes up or down from either switch and the door locks lock from either switch but will not lock . As far as pics I normally can post them but being they don't host pics here it's hard for me to do it with my phone . -
