Pictures of Comanches with Toppers.

I bought this cap from him. -
A lot of it has to do with the sellers and the stack of paperwork they need to supply before the bank can officially look at any offer and accept/counter/reject. People often want to point the fingers at the bank and blame them for the long waiting period when it's actually the fault of the seller's who are dragging their feet to get the paperwork submitted. In the case of the house I put an offer on, I don't have the slightest clue as to what is holding the show up. The seller's agent won't tell my agent who the bank is (and doesn't have to) and he also won't tell me if the seller's have submitted all of the necessary paperwork. The thing that really stinks about this is I've now talked to four people/couples that did the RD loan and they all had horror stories on the inspectors that the USDA uses (same as FHA inspectors) - lots of nitpicking over small, minute details and creating a laundry list of items that need to be fixed prior to approval of the loan.

Nice! Rural Development loan on that house? Still haven't received a response from the bank on my offer. If they counter or reject my offer, I'm walking away and putting an offer on a house that popped up for sale down the street. On about 1 acre, two car garage, and ready to move in.

Saw that the other day when I was doing my daily search for Comanche's. I got a good laugh out of it.

Are there emission restrictions in TX that force you to have a working EGR? I fiddled and futzed with mine for quite a while and it seemed the only solution was to buy a new one (which are pricey). I wound up capping off the vacuum line going to it and the truck ran great and still passed NJ emissions.

Nice looking pup! My mother has had always had at least one beagle for as long as I can remember. Fun dogs, very loyal, and they love to cuddle up next to you while you sleep.

LoL

If you're going to be doing a decent amount of off-roading, I would go with the 8.8.

*** COMANCHE CLUB shirts/hoodies order for 2011 ***
terrawombat replied to 87Warrior's topic in The Pub
My order came in on Friday. Thank you! My girlfriend made fun of me for getting it. She said, "did you really buy a sweatshirt from that internet forum you spend way too much time on?" Then I caught her wearing it last night :D -
They call it the JK-8 Independence and it nothing more than a big cop-out of actually producing a legitimate pickup. Jeep has been telling the public that they know we want a Jeep pickup. We were told they were going to announce it to their dealers and we assumed it was going to somewhat resemble the Jeep Gladiator. Makes sense since that seemed to be built on the JK platform and it was likely just a matter of stamping out new sheet metal and bolting it to their already existing frame. So, instead of getting an extended cab pickup (with rear doors) with a separate bed, we have an expensive sheet metal kit that turns a JK into an expensive toy that looks like it was built in someone's garage. If $55K is a ballpark price for these (it's the first price I've heard, but could be the dealership), that just makes me LOL even more. At $55K, do they include all of the stuff they took out of the original JK Wrangler to make these?
-
Definitely the kit. $55,000 for a "pickup truck" with the payload capacity of a JK Wrangler. LoL!

Surprised you were able to get another drive from another PC to even boot up. I've always gotten a BSOD immediately after the Windows screen when I've tried that.
-
I agree. Throw the hard drive in a working PC as a slave, back up files, put it back in the host PC, wipe it clean and reinstall Windows. At the very least, it will narrow down the problem to a hardware issue...and you'll still have any important files.

Most likely the Plain Jane rear bumper by Nate, whoever he may be.

I was going to post a picture of me with ONLY my new sweatshirt on, but I didn't get it yet. The anticipation must be killing you, I know... -
Great resource for someone.

Thanks for the heads up ;) -
I'm just glad I can now register all of my MJs as Historic in MD to avoid the Communist Republic of Maryland Auto Inspectors.

As members of CC, and all around MJ nuts, I feel it is our duty to help him get that MJ out of her yard.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out the Superturbodiesel forums. I'm a member on the Diesel Bomber forums and have been doing a lot of reading over there as well. The 4BT is an option, but that thing really is a pig. Also, those engines usually fetch a premium, even in so-so shape.
-
My numbers were ambitious and likely a little on the high side for the size/weight of the vehicle they're going into. I'll look into the VW TDI engines. I've ridden in a Jetta TDI multiple times and I've always thought it felt somewhat under powered - do those engines take well to simple turbo modifications? This idea kind of came about when I saw a VM Motori engine on e-bay that the seller didn't know much about - but from the photos, it looked to be a 2.8L CRD. I was going to place a bid on it, but the listing was removed before the auction ended.

Although I have not yet finished my 5.9L V8 MJ, I've begun thinking and planning my next build. I'm still undecided on whether it will be an XJ or MJ, but I do know that I want there to be a diesel engine under the hood. I've been looking at various diesel engines, both past and present, and the prices seem to be all over the place. I'm thinking that I want one in the 200-250HP and 300+Ft-Lb torque range, but that often is hard to come by on the older diesels, especially the ones in abundance like the engine out of the Mercedes 300SD's. Some others I've looked into are the Inline-5 and V6's out of the Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter's - but then I'm looking at 4-6K for a very used powerplant. Anyone have any other good suggestions and/or sources? I'd like to keep the weight down if possible. My main goals for the build are to build a reliable rig with moderate lift, occasional off-roading, and 25+ MPGs on the highway.

Some kind of old school payment system that the Indians used to use, I think.

Just wrote a rent check for 1/1/11. Had to tear it up. Doh. I do a lot of engineering drawings at work that require date stamps all over everything so I'll need to force myself to write 2012 or else I could cause a lot of confusion.

My old shop definitely had the square footage...definitely won't ever have anything close to that size again. I'm going to be putting up a pole barn, but will hire a contractor to do it. Need to get a house first, though.

Unfortunately, not really. It's one of the things that makes the MJ somewhat irritating (and also exciting) when you're looking for one used or find one in the scrapyard - almost any option could have been had with any trim package. A few things I have learned in my years of searching for MJs: Pioneers will generally have carpet, carpeted door panels with storage pocket and hockey stick arm rests. Eliminators will generally have bucket seats and the MJ-specific center console. Laredos will generally have the "tweed" bucket seats, matching "tweed" door panels and the MJ-specific center console. They are also the only MJs I have seen that could have had power windows. Chiefs will generally have a black interior, but I've seen a pretty even split of buckets and bench. If you're looking for a factory cargo light, you're more likely to find those on the higher-end trim packages (Laredo, Eliminator, Chief) in the earlier years ('86 and '87 or so I've found). Again, it's a basically a crapshoot, which is why I had to use the word "generally" when speaking about it. Also realized that I didn't even touch on any of the drivetrain options, which is probably what you were more concerned with.
