Diesel Fuel Only - Factory Diesel Comanche
terrawombat replied to Automan2164's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Although the play/slack on the timing belt looks and seems excessive, it can sometimes be deceiving. I've owned and worked on many overhead cam engines (namely, 3000GT's), where the same kind of slack could be seen when the engine was off. Never skipped a tooth or bent a valve. However, there is never any harm in replacing the thing. Or replacing it twice since you seem to have an abundance of those parts... -
I don't know why he would go there. Isn't that the team players go to drift away into anonymity (sp?) and end their career? not since pete carrol got there hes really turned the program around its a new young team that has lots of promise that just needs a more seasoned QB Matt Flynn is seasoned? He has played a couple of games in his NFL career for a great football team. He had a hell of a performance in the last game of the season in 2011-2012 season but he's anything but seasoned. Sounds like a Kevin Kolb story all over again...

Jacksonville or Miami would be my guess.

Yea, it'll start, but then it will immediately die within a second or so of running.

In my case, the appraiser had a copy of the sales contract and knew what the sales price was, but she was extremely conservative and basically blamed the low appraisal on the fact that there were very few recent home sales in the area so she had to use comparables that, well, don't really compare. She also docked the house about 750 sq. ft. because the garage was considered unconditioned living space. Granted, I won't be living in there (only in the figurative sense), but it has heat, air conditioning, insulated walls, carpet, running water, electric, and working sewer. In the legal sense, it absolutely should be considered conditioned living space. I pulled a few of these photos off of the appraisal report. They're low quality, but this will hopefully become my new shop. Already got plans in the works to expand it to a third bay with a higher roof and taller garage door. It was basically converted into a mancave and the left garage door is gone and now sealed up. Gotta make this back into a garage again. Drop ceiling was added, which also interferes with the operation of the existing garage door. Kind of want to leave the ceiling intact, but gotta come up with a way to be able to use garage door well. My favorite part of the house. No longer do I have to drive back home to do my business. Currently in the process of switching lenders. Talked to a fellow that was recommended to me and got him briefed on the situation. He's looked over my current appraisal and did some research on the property and he feels there shouldn't be a problem getting it appraised for well above my offer.

42, 44, 46 transmission.
terrawombat replied to jimoshel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
All three transmissions have a major design flaw in that they are made by Chrysler. -
No, I don't think that will work, even if the plugs fit in the connectors. The ZJ has a body control module (BCM) that is required for the vehicle to start and I'm not so sure the XJ PCM would have the programming for all of that.

Congrats Jim! I envy you and the fact you were able to complete the transaction! When does the move start?

Yea, I realized I forgot Marvin Harrison after I submitted the post. Dallas Clark is another that flourished in a Peyton-system, but what'd he do last year? Nothing. He was too busy blocking for a crappy QB that couldn't read a defense and change the play at the line. Just about any RB is a good fit in NE as long as they buy into the system Belichick has in place. They have a 5 foot nothing, 195 lb back in Woodhead that can do well. I think the only RB that hasn't made it in the Pats system was Laurence Maroney and coach Belichick made sure to ship him out as soon as he could.

I'll agree with you there. Manning might as well tattoo a target on his neck and if the Saints didn't get caught, they'd put a $10,000 bounty on every bone-crushing hit on Peyton. He's going to play the game conservatively, won't rush the ball and will throw it away more often than not. I doubt he's going to take many sacks and if he goes with the Titans, they have a pretty decent O-Line already and I'm sure Bud Williams will make at least one more big move to add some more talent to it. The biggest beneficiary of Peyton going to the Titans will be Chris Johnson. With a good quarterback at the helm and defenses constantly looking for the pass, it'll open up big, gaping holes for CJ.
-
I'd still take Peyton over Eli if I had a choice, but I'd actually give Peyton a good supporting cast in terms of receivers. Eli has always had someone to throw to and pick up ridiculous yards after the catch (see Victor Cruz). Peyton has had some good receivers in Marcus Pollard and Reggie Wayne, but the rest were mediocre guys that rose to infamy because of the guy who was throwing to them - just look at how much those guys slumped last season without Peyton under center. Pierre Garcon should send a $100,000 thank you check to Peyton's house for getting him a long-term deal with the Redskins (although the Skins way overpaid for him...but they've never been known to make good decisions in that front office). Both Manning brothers are pouty when they're not doing well - they both make the same WTF face, although Peyton is a little more vocal about it in press conferences.

Pompous, as usual. Favre is a bit of a troll, too. Likes to stick his head in when people have forgot about him just to remind everyone he's still around. Most of what comes out of his mouth is word vomit. You can bet that Manning doesn't really like the attention he's getting, but he's used to it. Whatever decision he makes won't be to "stick it" to his old team, but I bet he'll love going there once a year to play them (if he goes to the Titans).
-
And not everyone shares your view, but this thread was never intended to be a debate about your view on football versus anyone else who posted here, so why make it one? Because you're a troll and like that the attention is focused on you and your views rather than the actual discussion at hand. If you want to start a debate, do it somewhere else.

To butt your head into a conversation that you clearly have no interest in whatsoever just to throw your two cents in is the very definition of a troll.

I've felt he would land in Tennessee before an announcement was made he was even taking a visit. It just makes too much sense, in my opinion and the organization the most to offer the guy. I don't agree with this at all. Favre is Favre. Manning is a bit more of a class act than the penis-texting old timer and he'll make his decision based not on the strength of the team and its potential to make a championship run in the next 2-3 years, but also what the team can offer him after his playing career is over. Manning isn't dumb - he knows he's getting old, but he also knows that his little bro, who isn't half the QB Peyton is, has one more super bowl ring on his finger. Tebow to Jacksonville would be great for that organization in the short-term. They need the help badly and Gator fans would flock to the stadium to see their beloved hero take the stage in the big time. There's just one problem with the scenario - Tebow and Jacksonville will still stink. Ticket & jersey sales will be up for the first 6 or 7 games, but when they go 2-5 in their first seven, people will again lose interest in the team.

Don't mind him - it's only a matter of time before he trolls his way out of here. As a Ravens fan, free agency hasn't been good to me. We lost some key defensive players today on a defense that is getting older and slower. I can only hope that the voids left by Johnson, Redding, and (most likely) Grubbs will be filled with younger talent that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed can groom in their last remaining years with the team. On offense, the Ravens haven't done much either...hoping they land someone soon... I feel as though Manning will end up in Tennessee, which is good news for our football hating Troll, since he won't be able to turn the corner down in TN without hearing about it :D

The underwriters approved the appraisal so it's basically a no-go that my current lender will give me the money and I'm not in a position right now to shell out the extra $16K come closing time. Fortunately, the sellers understand my situation and have agreed to allow me to extend the contract so that I can have some time to secure a different lender and start the process all over again. We're giving my current lender one last chance and they have asked that the appraisal be reviewed. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that the appraisal will be overturned and even if it is, it's even more unlikely that the appraiser will adjust the value to where it needs to be. There goes my good rate...hope the rates are still low by the time my second lender locks me in. I will also forfeit the $460 fee for the appraisal.

Red88Comanche Pioneer RWD
terrawombat replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they have a decent engine balancer for about $40-$50. I know people say stay away from HF, but I bought the thing in a pinch and have used it on several engine pulling jobs - some not so nice ones either with the full weight of the engine, transmission, and the vehicle (when the engine gets snagged on something like the frame) and the thing has held up real well. Worth every penny I paid for it. -
I feel like something has to be wrong with the appraisal. I have half a mind to think the guy didn't even go to the right house LOL! I mean, two years ago, the place was assessed for 85K over what this appraiser said its worth. The town that the house is in has median home values about 130K over the appraised value. The house across the street is selling for 20K over the appraised value and it's half the square footage and 2/3 of the acreage. I'm completely baffled. The only thing I can think of is that is was hugely undervalued due to its age, but it's not like the place is falling down because it's 72 years old. I dunno - I requested a copy and should hopefully have it tomorrow.

How about a TJ 6-speed and 4.0 in a MJ?
terrawombat replied to fcjunkie's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've personally seen three 0331 head crack failures - two my own and one on my cousins '01 - so I can vouch it is NOT just an internet story. As for the '05/'06 4.0L engines being junk, that's the first I've really heard of that. My GF has an '06TJ with the 6-speed in it. Interesting transmission with a completely useless 1st gear for the pavement - took a while to pound it into her head that you can start the vehicle in 2nd gear and not hurt it....women.... -
Interesting couple of days, to say the least. First, I finally got all of the paperwork back to my lender and everything seems good on that end. Then I get an e-mail from my agent that says the underground storage tank has been taken care of. She attached an invoice to the seller's from "Mark's Arc Welding" showing about $1,700 in charges to dig down to the tank, cut it open, extract the contents, clean the tank, and fill it with concrete. I'm thinking to myself, great, the seller called up some welding shop up the street and had them come over and do the work when it was supposed to be done by a certified technician. Called up the Maryland MDE (basically the state EPA) and obtained a list of all certified shops in MD. Sure enough, Mark's Arc Welding was on there. Still need to obtain some official documentation, other than an invoice, stating the work was done and certified. Fast forward to today and I get an e-mail from my lender - the house appraised $16K lower than my offer. WOW. Either myself and my home inspector are blind or this house is a total POS. Waiting on a copy of the appraisal to see what comps he/she used, but the number sounds really, really low. Funny thing is, the appraisal number is exactly what I initially offered the sellers before we countered back and forth and settled on the offer we have now - guess I wasn't too far off base. I suppose this could work in my favor if the seller's agree to renegotiate the contract at the appraisal value, but if they don't, I gotta walk because I can't front the $16K difference (nor would I want to). The saga continues...

I hope I never, ever see the day where my mental capacity stoops the level where I am able to convince myself to call the police when someone has parked on the wrong side of the road. I mean, really, who gives a crap?
-
Awesome! Hope you get it. It was a great feeling when I went from the Short Sale property to the one I'm at now. I had answers within hours, rather than months.

Then you also know that cutting the roof off of the Libby is not the end - not to the crotchety old man. He won't be satisfied until he's had his way. The KJ was just the beginning and probably one of the only things he was able to get you cited for. He'll find something else and he'll call, write letters, and whine about something else. I'm sure you'll eventually receive another letter from the city.
