  3. m preeetty sure they still got 4.2L even after the introduction of the 4.0 ill have to double check though k yeah i checked, confused cause i knew they were offered at the same time as one another but i thought it was up til the end. so yeah what pete said!
  4. haha, it is a bit too narrow...couldn't help it, he made the main part in shop class without the truck present. angle was a bit much, but it's still good. it looks damn good in my opinion, and would be a shame to see on a toy whas wrong with toys? I'm not sure I'm a big fan... i opted for the tool box instead of the rollbar though cause i needed room for stuff. should be cool though when its done
  5. lookin good man, idk if i missed it or what but what size tire is that under the lift? i might end up lifting mine without having $$ for bigger tires yet
  6. IIRC YJs were available with em til the end in 95
  7. is that 6" lift with 235/75s? i ask cause I'm gonna have enough money for the lift soon... but nowhere near enough for some tires
  8. hahaha, yeah some places are tough to clean up though... what all do you use? flap disk and a file?
  9. any chance you've been cookin that engine and just didnt know it? my 4.0 ran at 250 for MONTHS and months before i figured out it awsnt a bad gauge. that engine has to hate me... but it still picks up nice
  10. we have the lincoln 110 pop box MIG... usin flux core right now its just to damn picky man. if the surface isnt 100% clean it doesnt like to bead well. but i think its cuase of the flux wire... gotta get abottle and some gas the welder has the hookups for it but welding on old steel and jeeps isnt exactly the most clean surface to weld
  11. you may regret the hood vents inthe future... hoodvents=water on the TPS=odd stuff. my brothers XJ has hood vents similar to those, and after a while the tps got jacked. LOVING the progress on the truck though man... she's lookin good!
  12. mine goes right to the screw at almost 3' before it goes back down
  13. assuming you either have a disconnect axle, or a selectable locker or auto-locker.
  14. he wasn't tryin to be an @$$, probly just assumed you were referring to a similar year XJ.
  15. accomplished: wired up electric fans and free 10" sub/amp, bought brake pads and oil/filter; rented coil spring compressor procrastinated: building the box for the sub and changing oil/brake pads  didnt install coil spacers or shocks i bought

  17. they massaged the firewall out a little bit to clear the back of the 4-0 head. just eyeball the firewall real good, I'm not exactly sure what they changed back there
  18. myself and all three ther jeeps in the family have grey... its my favorite, i like the black dash in mine, but the gray seats. (and i had a tan center console i pulled so i sprayed it black... i like the gray seats though) maroon... HATE IT
  19. oh ok, i didnt realize it was two different motors, i thought i was lookin for something wrong on the camshaft.
  20. WOAH! that was amazing.
  21. what am i lookin at in the second picture? whats wrong? (i've never torn down an engine)
  22. sweeeettt
  23. what do yall suggest for a thermal switch for these fans? I'm lookin at runnin the main fan off a thermal switch and an in cab kill switch, with the other fan used as aux. i drove the truck about 300mi this week on the interstate, figured out 50+ i really don't need the fans at all so thats what the kill switch will pretty much be for is high speed driving, unless theres some way i cuold wire the fan to auto-shutoff at speed (which would be completely sweet if anyone knows how) what temp do you suggest for the range on the switch? i was thinkin 190 on 170 off?
  24. a decent explorer pack shoult net about a 1" drop... i say decent b/c we've all seen the random ones that have thick 4 leaf packs and overload and then the ones with 1 leaf!?!?! whats up with that? but the good pack is about 1" drop bolt in.
