    Snow pics.

system that came through atlanta was nasty, we got 6" in about 4 hours which is ridiculous for here, and to top it off the 4 days after that the temperature got to about 33 which was JUUUUST enough to get it slushy and freeze the road solid. most of the smaller roads around here were skating rinks from one end to the other, a few inches of solid ice up til about friday. pretty clear today cause it got to 38 yesterday. but it was fun while it lasted! and i enjoyed watching all the silly northerners that thought they knew what "snow" was about slide right off the road... cause it doesn't stay snow for long down here. we got all our skiing in the night it happened, no ice yet in this vid! nCGnLV6Ve3k Bs5FM5DNdYA all my pics got erased somehow, only videos left.
  3. you sure pete? the chrome trim will come right out without damaging the windshield seal, i would assume the rubber on the late model is the same way, it should just pop in around the glass. i'd wait for some definite proof first though :D this is only hearsay
  4. dude, my knock sensor wasn't plugged in for years before like 2 weeks ago, and the truck NEVER ran like crap, it just had a slight knock under load. i wouldn't hope for that to be the miracle fix.
  5. knock sensor must be torqued properly to work, correct. the torque spec is 89 inch/lbs INCH POUNDS not foot pounds. and you won't be able to tell usually if the knock sensor is working or not, unless you're getting knock. it just kinda hangs out in the background until there is a knock condition
  6. just ask them to install it with a 97+ windshield kit instead of coming with the clips for your chrome or black trim it'll come with a rubber trim
  7. dude, i LOVE the smart-car. coolest thing ever. don't care about the mileage, which is really not that great considering 80s civics can do 40mpg, but the thing is so damn small its awesome! haters! :waving: haha, seriously though, as soon as they get cheap I'm buying one.
  8. i was on a mopar parts website that claimed to have rollbars in stock for 173$ :rotf: yeah right! they also had (claimed to have) other holy grails like red/black/chrome trimmed taillights however many you want.
  9. Hey guys, I know the 97+ fenders should be installed when doing the header panel but they don't have to be. i've got the header panel but havent found fenders yet, so on to the question... will the 97+header panel bolt onto the 96- fenders without (major) modification? if it's a big hassle i'll just wait til i find fenders... but i'm kinda antsy to see it. :D
  10. so yesterday i got a wild hair (might have been the yuengling, idk) and pulled my transmission, the plan is to swap with my buddy who just got the YJ. he has a XJ ax15 i have a YJ ax15 so i got it yanked in the damp street with 20mph wind and 30 degrees out. found out why my clutch pedal hasn't felt right since the new clutch. my brandy new SACHS clutch kit from a reputable source that the shop i work at has bought hundreds of clutches from was junk! the plastic internal slave was already leaking! also i've been having a bad flywheel type vibe buuut lucky for me, the YJ my buddy bought came with a 2wd peugot and DING DING DING a brand new valeo clutch kit in the bellhousing :clapping: with a nice looking high quality cast metal slave cylinder and brandy new renix flywheel! :chillin: so tomorrow i'm gonna throw that in there and see what shakes! excited to have the t-case not hit the body anymore and be able to install my factory 4x4 linkage i pulled from the JY. plan is to eventually get the external setup for the slave since it has such a good pedal feel when right. but for now i'm runnin with what i've got.
  11. i've seen fishing wire, it's a little tougher than dental floss... but most the badges ive ever seen were about to fall off from age anyways lol.
  12. :agree: 4.0L head is the second easiest head gasket ever (only after the 4cyl rear wheel drive NA volvos) it should only cost about 200-250 at a machine shop to get the head shaved and valve stem seals and new studs if you break any. so that's one way to be sure if you're worried about it. for the most part it takes a lot to hurt them though, i doubt its cracked
  13. there's really no problem with the factory pump, worked for 20 years now ;) but if you really want to upgrade, http://www.quadratec.com/products/51212_58.htm http://www.hesco.us/shop.asp?action=details&inventoryID=133254&catId=7969 costs a weensy bit more than 30$ but that combination will for sure get you better water flow and flowkooler claims 6hp gain from the better vane design on their pump :dunno:
  14. alright gentlemen, (and ladies now apparently :D ) I know a few of you have upgraded shafts in your 44s i need some factory axle-shafts! have cash want to buy! (one of mine is bent) orrr if you are looking to upgrade to alloys i can buy yours and you can buy new ones! Lemme know! -nick
  15. true, i forgot about that.
  16. my boss runs wheel spacers highly simliar to those in the pic and has had no issue, just install new studs in the axle, lock-tite the nuts on for the spacer and check regularly to be sure. i wouldn't want to run them on a over the road truck but i figure around town in the jeep it's okay? i wonder if a machine shop could turn your 6 lug axles into 5 lug?
  17. laptopers with touch-pad scrolls don't have scroll balls to click :( i have to right click open in new window, which isn't bad... but sometimes i forget
  18. I don't have a lot of Mazda experience yet, but I havent heard of anything like that. Usually when I see bulbs blowing rapidly like that, it is a connector problem at the bulb, or a bad batch of bulbs.... might want to try a different brand if the connectors look good. yeah i work on volvos and they eat bulbs, but this thing EATS bulbs. thanks
  19. banged some gears, bought some gas. same ole.
  20. you should change your username to "thatcomanchegirl" :waving: (and especially for females we don't suggest sitting on the tan bench seat in the corner, but anything in the fridge is most likely not too far expired) WELCOME TO THE CLUB!
  21. ps3 would complement the new tv nicely. and gt5 and maybe call of duty black ops (thats out for ps3 right?) would complement that nicely. the rents, hmmm.... dk, you're on your own on that one ! sorry
  22. mazda training eh? dk how long you've been at the dealer... ever heard of a 00ish miata popping headlight bulbs at an alarming rate of something ridiculous like 6 pair a year?
  23. :chillin: you guys are just haters :chillin: lol
