  1. especially with the number of stuck/breaking/breakable bolts on a 1990 MJ... and XJ. ugh. and re-alignign LCAs. ugh. could take a few minutes....
  2. ...why were you checking the oil with the truck running? ive always thought that was a truck off/give it a second to settle routine? ?? am i :chillin:
  3. makes sense, never knew anything about the "physics" of how that stuff worked. now i see why the 30 isnt usualy that much of an issue. (for us smaller tire folks) i didnt actually know there was a strength or anything difference from LP to HP, i always wondered why TJs have LPs especaily considering their short wheelbase, doesnt that give them TERRIBLE drive angles?
  4. If those brackets are staying in the truck, might as well cut em. Not like you'll end up selling them if you're keeping them. not that worried about sellin em.. but i don't wanna fubar them and then not have seat brackets at ALL. cause that would be NO fun.
  5. advanceauto has them for 1200 i think... don't know about their warranty though if you're going to do a rebuild kit... why not go ahead and stroke it for the same amount?
  6. if you're planning to lift it in the future then i would suggest to go with an 8inch rim, but if not 7 is fine... not sure on BS though.
  7. it shows a little on the slow side... the HO isnt the big difference in years.. its the difference in the AW4's do you have a manual or auto? before 1991 (1990-) the AW4 had a power/comfort mode switch and in comfort mode it shifts alot early and saves more gas, the 1991+ is hardwired into power mode.
  8. that man's arms are absolutely disgusting. that's gross. ugh. he's not a bodybuilder.. hes a body killer! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6625402029184455680&q=arm+exploded thats the video i watched.
  9. teeheehee. that sucks though seriously.
  10. yeah, the TJ front d44s are NOT the same as an old front dana 44... an old D44 compared to a TJ LPD44 is like a D60. the TJ ones arent beefy anymore.
  11. see what i mean? :D i imagine 33's on my 3.07s outta slow me down quite a bit... i wouldnt drive it fast if it didnt go fast :brows:
  12. gotcha, just makin sure you knew it won't go right in your MJ... SUCKS cause i have an XJ44 chillin-out in storage. :headpop:
  13. NICE work... the bob is hardly noticeable, and probably won't be onceyou paint it. also like the interior... they sell molded carpet peices at quadratec, i think there's a thread going on somewher in here about that right now. did all new XJs have dummy gauges?
  14. i have heard of it online as well.. don't actually know though.
  15. i tried, couldnt get it to rock at all... how is it supposed to move VERY Comfy seats... my brother has the same oens minus the rocker option in his 1990 laredo XJ. i love the side bolsters, i can actually lean ont hem when i get lazy. EDIT: i do have the plastic side peices on the outsides. and what do yall think about chopping the brackets and re-welding them back together to drop the seat some... i would brace it with some extra steel not just weld the two halves back together, but is this abad idea? i knwo the brackets arent that common.
  16. like i said, i personally havent had many problems... 2 things i can mention are: Renix TBS: bolts don't fit right, and we had to redneckshade-tree it to get em to work steering box brace: would NOT fit, we ended up MAKING it work, and might take it off cause it really looks like its causing MORE stress. but then again i do live like 2hrs from him and he probably doesnt want me knockin on his front door. :D usually (being 2hrs away) stuff we order comes next day shipping (if we order it early in the day) and comes the day after if its late when we order it. only had one time it didnt come that fast, and it was a 2000+$ order. it took about a week i think. stuff we've ordered. airtube/k&n full axle kits F&R including: superior chomemollys D30, D44, 4.88 gears, ARB front locker, Detroit rear locker, and assembly kits. brake-lines throttlebody spacer XJ flowmaster 50 exhaust and some other stuff.
  17. NOT A BOLT IN... XJ leafs are mounted differently and the perches won't line up with your trucks leafs. (if you were talking about putting a XJ44 in your truck that is)
  18. XJs have different rear "frame" than MJs and their leafs are mounted slightly different than ours, their spring perches won't line up to our leafs... that would be to easy. and also these trucks are SUA back axle, and XJs are SOA... so if that DID work it would net about 5-6" of lift. other than the metric-ton MJ d44, there pretty much arent any DIRECT bolt in axles... most are going to require chopping off the perches, and having new ones welded on. good news is mopar sells BEEFY perches for something like 9$ a pair. common axles to swap are XJ44s, explorer 8.8s, and MJ 44s (which if you find one is a direct bolt in)
  19. ...WTH happened? thats gross! LETS HEAR IT!
  20. my stock 1989 4.0l manual tranny gets about 17 but i AM a teenager, and i DO like the skinny pedal. mileage has ALOT to do with how you drive, if i drive it grandpa i could easily pull 20+mpg. 31s arent that much off of stock so you can expect like 18mpg if you drive normally.
  21. if it's real, those guys lost it a few days before the pic... the ice had to form over where the heep is... pretty funny though, might be photochopped?
  22. hot topic lately.. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2921 and then theres always the... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2948 either of those should help, both would be even better.
  23. If you had to do the above, you should have used the 95-96 master/booster because it would not have been necessary. The 95-96 combo has a 1/4" aluminum spacer plate & gasket which snugs right up to your existing 91 firewall w. no leaks. No mods necessary for the pedal either, bolts right on using the existing clip. dumb question... 95-96 XJ ?
  24. thanks for that little 200$ tidbit, didn't know that. -nick
  25. BTW... does ANYONE know what the plastic adjuster handle big flat thingy ma-bob next to the seat adjuster does? you can see it in the 2nd pic, not the metal handle that moves it f/b but the the big plastic one... i cannot figure out what it does.. or if it works even thanks, nick
