    bait car

  2. I'm older than 50, so it wouldn't worry me one bit to take a stroked converted MJ and wheel the piss out of it.....you only live once and I want to spend more time wheeling than wrenchin...#1 all the way....someone else can fix the paint when I'm gone lol.
  3. ???
  4. Stubs also had different stick out lengths.
  5. FWIW the 8.8 3.55 does not come stock with limited slip. You can swap a Ford LSD carrier in to an 8.8 with 3.55 gears (what I did for a friend)...and 8.8 has no carrier break...
  6. You could shorten the stub as a temp fix, but no suspension flex off road allowed. Stub could pop out of TC and #$^*)&^$#%&* Not recommended.
  7. Gonna have to get a charge on the battery first. Possibly take it to a parts store like Napa etc. Then test your headlight socket for power, then test the light with a multi-meter make sure it did not burn out on you.
  8. Ditch the shackles
  9. Got some pics of this? Might be interested. and will you ship it? FWIW I'd pad it with cardboard, wrap the cr*p out of it with shrinkwrap and ship.
  10. Narrate a little? "Start out, first gear, second"....or where in video, second wise, where you hear the sound?
  11. Lunch box lockers in the rear suck. Unless your truck sees way more dirt than pavement, I'd say OK, but for the street you'll hate it. Matter of fact that's why I have one (8.8 lockright) for sale in the classifieds.....
  12. Push them out with a socket behind the bolt, start motor, turn wheel....do other side. textbook.
  13. Gonna pay somebody, might as well pay me....
  14. told you to call me.
  15. Big hassle, unless you going full custom motor everything....
  16. PM me your #, I live in Charlo and could probably help you out.
  17. You know, me and the woman had a discussion about this, she drove #5 (97 XJ) till the engine shut down trying to make it home (another 10mi), warped head no or low compression #3, engine toast....well head gasket at the least, and possibly the head if its cracked. Gauges and flashing lights mean something....not that it can go another ten miles or in her case six. Sounds like you gettin too much fuel, suggest you look at the MAP sensor on the TB, be sure it's hooked up proper, and have you done O2 sensors lately? or ever?
  18. We just bought Jeep #6, 98 XJ 2dr 130K aw4 4.0, nice body, tires look new, overall looks 9 out of 10. AC clutch bearing seized on the PO, who then did an AC delete, still kept throwing the belt....He wanted 2200, I offered 15....put a new HB on it drove it home for 16 hundred. Oh yeah and did I say it has no rust and nice paint and... Momma loves it!
  19. I fill to full every time, fill on "slow", never have a problem....
  20. If you have two piece shafts, upgrade to one piece (right side), use large U joint shafts. Spicer U joints only (I never buy anything when the parts guy says "just as good as....) Even if you don't replace the shafts with "one piece" or bigger U joints, I highly recommend converting to full circle clips. I believe the "clips" are the first "weak" part of our front axles and the clips are easy to convert and gets you a ton or extra security.
  21. "Retaining plate"? Got a link to that post on Naxja?, kind of curious about this, not sure what their talking about.
  22. I have an aluminum topper that I swap back and forth between my S10 and Chief, I aint never rode in the bed long enough to know if it's tinny or loud, doubt I could hear it over the Guarddogs anyways... far as the look, the topper serves 2 trucks, looks fine on both, and it was cheap, $50.
