Nope. It is there for a reason. The 87s (XJs and MJs did NOT have it, and people complained that the fuel pump was making too much noise. So for 1988 they added the ballast resistor to reduce the voltage to the fuel pump, which makes it run slower, which makes less noise. The fuel pump and regulator are exactly the same for an '87 and an '88. You will NOT damage anything by soldering those two wires together. my 87 had one as well. Explain that? lol brain fart.

$7 is the most expensive I paid $4 for mine and you can get away with it for a while, but like the man said you'll burn your pump out. So either put out $5 now or a $100 and some annoying time later. Your call bucko!

Well was out for the 10th Annual Trail Clean Up for the Great Lakes 4x4/ Two Trackers 4x4 Club. Was a good time with some great people. A couple of snakes that I walked up on and scared me $#!&less... Represented Comanche Club and passed out some cards.... And now for a brief commercial break....

So I wanted something for now just to hold me over untill I get a new bumper, so a guy had this bumper and was going to scrap it, I told him I'd take it just so I can have something a little stiffer up front then the stock bumper. Never really got a good look at it untill today. And realized it was a WP bumper that goes for $200+, so needless to say I got a great deal and she don't look half bad either. So I put it on tonight.... need to trim some of the fender flares, but had to cut the fenders up anyways so why not now....

I heard of it being done as well, from what I hear she'll work good but aslong as everything is stright so that the it'll seat right. So I wouldn't see why it would'nt work.

Messed with the alignment and got it about as good as you can get it with $#!&ty ends...
