  1. I go to the Badlands all the time. I am doing Mission Impossible the day after Thanksgiving. Hopefully it does good. With the long wheelbase it climbs awesome. Thats why I had to shorten the rear, it drug on everything. Yeah those are diff skids. One of the best mods, they slide right over rocks and don't get hung up hardly ever.
  2. Decided to do a little writeup. -1988 Jeep Comanche MJ 4cyl. 4 speed -Started as a 2 wheel drive -Dana 44s front and rear. Both have 5.13s and Alloy USA axle shaft. Front has factory Rubicon air locker and rear has a spool. -Front suspension is RockKrawler 3 link long arm with 5.5 in TJ coils and ACOS. Also has HD track bar and Currie steering set up. - Rear is spring over with stock springs and one leaf removed. Revolver shackles and BullyBuilt anti wrap bar. -36x12.5x15 Super Swamper TSL with eaton wheels and custom beadlocks -BullyBuilt front bumper with Warn 8274 and Winchline.com winch rope. -BullyBuilt rocker guards and transfercase skid -Bed is sectioned 8 inches behind rear axle. All the BullyBuilt stuff was made by me. I may be forgetting some things but its not done by any means. And it was all done in a tiny one stall garage,Or as my friends say "the model A garage"
  3. Thanks for the pics and info. Looks good can't wait till mines done. It's going in the garage tommorrow. I wanted to keep driving it but today I noticed it hiding behind a Kia in the parking lot and I can't have that. The one in my avatar went to the scrap yard (just the body) so I got a little 2 wheel drive to build.
  4. I was thinking of bobbing my comanche. Do you have any pics of the rear of yours
  5. Thanks for the comments. Today I am working on making the doors removable. I am going to the badlands on May 17, but might be interested in heading down there to wheel with more comanches in July. Pease keep me posted.
  6. Got alot of stuff done in the past week. I made a driveshaft for the front , got my gears and spool in, got the front air locker wired up and airline ran. I also did alot of other little thing too. Got to flex it out, The rear flexes awesome with 2 leaves taken out of the packs. The front needs different shocks, they aren't quite long enough. Now I am working on making an anti wrap bar for the rear.
  7. I bypassed it today but can't drive it yet got the interior pulled out to bedline it, so hopefully well get to test her out soon.
  8. Not sure of the power the rear gears and spool will be here monday and installed sometime during the week. It has 3.55s in the rear now and I drove it down the street and was shocked the all 4 squirrels could push it as well as it did. As far as the XJ goes it is gone but it is already up for sale and for cheap. I can't wait till it's done. Pretty much it just needs a few finishing touch and it will be ready for the trails. My goal is next weekend.
  9. Got this thing about a week ago. A friend of mine started it and then I just had to have it. I have Loved MJ's since they came out and finally I have one. WHOO HOO! 1987 Jeep Comanche 2.5L SWB 5.5" RE front coils with ACOS RockKrawler XJ long arm with custom cross member Rear spring over with 1.5" RC shackles Front D44 from 03 Rubicon with 5.13's and Alloy Usa shafts Rear D44 with 5.13's, a spool, and Alloy Usa shafts Rock It diff skids F and R 36" Super Swamper TSL's on DIY Budlocks (LOL) Custom front bumper with a warn 8274 winch Currie HD steering setup
  10. Thanks guys this is on my trail rig so a little more brake in the rear is good. The lever isn't hooked up and keeps moving around and sometimes causes my rear brakes to drag.
  11. Does anyone have a schematic or drawing how to bypass this thing. It's the valve with the brake lines above the rear axle with a lever on it. It's not hooked to the axle and would like to bypass it but don't know what will happen since it has a return line going back up front. Thanks
