Yeah well, the one big difference that makes it look like a$$. If there was some time put into it and some upgrades to the front of it, hood, bumper and what not it could look real good.
-
I knew it was something, thats is what makes it look messed up, the bumper.

Like I said I did the same lift and was happy with my results. Ran it for about a year. Good luck with your build man. -
mini beast Project: Stock To Beast!!!
MiNi Beast replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Also some spec on the steering... I was planning on posting them up once I got it all fined tuned. Had to cut one back down an 1" to allow for adjustments. Carpentry skills in play there, they were measured to a tight fit. Tie rod is - 43 1/4" (tube end to tube end) Draglink- 33 1/2" (tube end to tube end) I ran a LH thread on the end of the stock on the left side of jeep and RH thread joints on the right hand side. This is what allow you to adjust your steering, then use lock nuts to secure them in place. As far as the track bar I'm thinking of running a double ended heim joint stright bar over the axle. Was thinking a bushing on the axle and joint at the frame. but using the same size stock being 1 1/2" x .25 wall and get tube ends to insert then my joints. -

Well have the 8.8 in the rear with the 4.10 LSD so to match the front up I had to take out the 3.55's and add some 4.10's. She is beatiful. -

Gears installed I have 4wd now  Gear install went smooth, got it right the first time so no redoing it a few times to get good pattern. So watch out, if I couldn't be stopped in 2wd then I won't be in 4wd. :driving: And thanks to the person who helped me out, I'd post a pic but he's to damn ugly for the net Image Not Found Alright only snapped a couple pics here they are... -

Need Help With Spring Over
MiNi Beast replied to fatcat0491's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
And add a leaf the kit they send comes with blocks for an xj and leafs that goes over the bottom leaf, the helper leaf thing, and a option to put it back in but I did giving a 1/2 more lift and I had flipped it over for $#!& and giggles. I had problem with DW before I did this lift, so I had replaced the whole fron end just before I did the lift so I got the lift and got a new steering dampner with it. But I never had an issue with DW on this lift. -

Need Help With Spring Over
MiNi Beast replied to fatcat0491's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I got the one for $119 but wanted the one with the shocks For $239 but for some reason I was under the impression that the kit I got came with shocks, (Girls suck when asking questions about jeeps  ) But yeah for a low budget I couldn't complain, I knew I was going to up grade later, but Wanted to have my 31's on so what's a couple hundred bucks for this kit. Why not, I ran it about a year while I pieced the rest of my SOA lift together. I think this is your best bang for the buck for your situation. These guys told me as well what there telling you on wait, but you know damn well you want a little more aggressive look, being it's mainly a pavement pounder then why not. But whatever you decide just keep in mind school is your priority like hornbrod said. But I know where your coming from this being why you have a smaller budget but this kit I'd say will be easy on your pocket and still make you happy in the end. http://www.jcwhitney.com/ROUGH-COUNTRY- ... _10101.jcw -
Need Help With Spring Over
MiNi Beast replied to fatcat0491's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
hoot do what I did, Go to JC Whitney and get there Rough Country 3in lift kit, About $135, then pick up some shocks. Put on your new 31's and call it a day. No need to mess with anything else unless you got some bad ball joints then changes them as needed. Check out my build and see what that kit gets you and see how it looks with 31's.... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... highlight= -
Need Help With Spring Over
MiNi Beast replied to fatcat0491's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Don't reuse the old perches, buy some new ones and save yourself some hassle, they only like $5 a pop, so what your out $10-$15, but you need not fight with making the old pretty and taking your time trying to cut them off. What are you doing a 4.5 inch lift so you need to know what ential for the front as well or just the rear?
