  1. Sqeezed in 33's? I hope you got bumpstops, or else you be rubbing. Also hope you did some gearing with the 2.5.
  2. wow, just wow
  3. i haven't really looked into it, but i've been changing the oil on a toyato suv a guy is using that on, i think it sucks and i'd never use it. just me thouh, i don't like the way his low mileage truck sounds now, and what the synthetic oil looks like at 6k when he changes it. i will never jump on that wagon. Yeah I'm still looking into been reading up on it, but hearing good things about it, but not sure like I said, that I'm to big on the 5 yr return on it. :dunno:
  4. I been reading about that, I always used fram filters, the extra mileage ones or what not. But I been thinking of going to that reusable filter I think it's K&N that has one out, or someone. Looks to be worth it. $120 and should have it paid off and money back, what after 5yrs? why not.
  5. how much lift is on the XJ? See I have my 8.8 with the t&t 1 1/2" UBE, so already got that much lift. Then can get a set of decent shaped 4x4 leafs and shackle too, or if need be was thinking of a boomerang shackle.
  6. What makes you think there are advantages? I can't even figure out how you could make this work. The MJ springs are 5 inches longer. You can't make that all up with shackles, and there isn't enough body/chassis behind the XJ shackle mounts to relocate them anywhere near 5 inches farther back. I been looking at these and just pondering the idea http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... n+brackets Then thinking of the idea that if you put 4.5" lift springs from a MJ onto an XJ you will get something like 11". So just wondering as I would like to stretch the jeep a few more inches. Only going for around 5-6" lift
  7. Can't beat that for $200.
  8. ok thinking of stock MJ springs, non metric ton, on my XJ with shackle relocation brackets and strech the XJ a inch or 2 via the leaf pack length. let me hear you thoughts and experiences on this. I'm not a newbie, so don't talk to me about the little stupid crap, just brainstorming some ideas here. Such as wheelbase, lift and flex, what's some advantages in trying to do this? Add leafs with MJ shackles, or leave out to keep lift done or will that take away some flex? Let's hear what you got?
  9. Basically, I got the front lift from the donor...PO of that XJ said it was a 3.5"...I like it at that height with 31's as it looks great and is relatively off road capable, any higher and it will take away from practical DD use, SO, not doing an SOA...decided on the Hell Creek 3" leaf packs as I didn't want to go the add-a-leaf route. Unloaded it measures about 2.75" difference between the front and rear, so I figure the Hell Creek springs will get me close to level & I can block/shakle from there to fine tune the height if need be. They are going to hook me up with some rear shocks...dunno what kind, don't really care...I trust their knowledge as they seem to know what they are doing. From there I am going to go to my local Summit Racing and get some spring perches to mount my Chrslyer 8.25 under the rear (mainly to match the gear ratios, so I can get my 4x4 working). -yes, I know, I was getting ahead of myself in the thread claiming the 3.55 gears as I am currently running the 3.07, but I drove the donor for 5 months before I did the swap, so I know what to expect. LOL, I was all excited, and getting my buddies pumped about doing the HO swap, and its almost an embarassment right now with that 3.07 :shake: Ya, their definately fun...but its a highly additive and expensive habit...then I started racing earlier this year (desert, enduro, hare scrambles, etc) and I got completely sucked in, beyond hope with no end in sight. I now have to coordinate my work and personal life around my racing/riding schedule as it is now priority :shake:  Fortunately I have a very understanding boss and my GF left me (over other reasons), so I can make it happen. Amen to that "electric and kick start"; the whole reason why I sacrafised for the extra weight on my 450, so I could have that magic button  My poor streetbike is just sitting and collecting dust now :wall: Prob gonna sell it :( I need the money to get another smaller, lighter 250 dirtbike for the more technical courses anyway (oh ya, and put some more $$$ into the MJ; still need that damn spray in bedliner!!!). Would be interested to see how that Silverstar turns out. So I bet that MJ of yours with the stroker and the 4.11 gearing prob spins those tires with quite a bit of ease :brows: BTW, great looking truck...usually not a big fan of chrome, but you definately did it right  James Dude you suck at quoting. :rotfl2: How you mess that up? :shake:
  10. i can look on my 94 XJ to see, but I wanna say as well you can convert them.
  11. That is what I was getting at in my advice. So what you get? :brows: :brows: :brows: :D
  12. hornbrod was just saying like I was saying that it is better to let your engine open up first for true hp, then to get a chip that will have some effect but will have better affect on a engine that has be modded. Then He was merely addressing the fact no one really gave the Dyno results just reflected what they experience of knew of from others they have jeeped with, which is what you seemed to have wanted, but can it hurt to read up on the dyno, then you can see what you can do to the engine for the true effect of the chip to take advantage of it? Hornbrod just wanted you to find some more accurate results as to allow you to better support your decision to use or not to use the chip. And as well as you may got your question answered, but others will find this thread looking for some answers as well and perhaps would like to know the specs of the dyno results, this way they will know where to go and will not have to post and wait for a reply.
  13. Already got one  James Good now how about a new throttle body?
  14. well don't stop, need to cut that mop of hair on top your head too. :shake: Yeah have to say good call on the the shave it before she stops, that can be a hairy situation, I myself prefer the old landing stripping to guide me, but in a jungle bush you could get lost and never come back. :rotf:
  15. :smart: If you thinking of spending the money on a chip, then spend your money on a header. This is the best bang for your buck as far as bolt HP for the average joe with the avg. bank roll to drop on the rig. And once you add a good header you will feel the difference. Then when your ready to get the stroker you already have the needed header to add to it.

    DIY writeup?

when I do write ups I write them first on word then copy and paste everything to the site, preview then post.
  17. front axle swap, hmm some issues... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101344
  18. pick and pulls around here pull that stuff if you want it. Not like you can really do it with basic hands tools. For that price you better have then pull and load it for you.
  19. Well going to run 5.13's  Picked some up for the rear 8.8 :clapping: Got my parts 44 front. :brows:
  20. No foreign lottery, it was the MI lottery. I won a whopping $50 from a dollar ticket. No millions here. :D
  21. Damn right I hit the lottery last night. Hell yeah. So what shall I by for the jeep. I already started a list, but give me suggestions.
  22. Sorry about the bad luck. Hope all gets squared away. Now on to some pressing issues... :shake: :needpics:
  23. So then you would have a net of 5''? Yeah you will need to adjust steering, perfer new set up, at least longer LCA, but suggest adjustable UCA and LCA, an adjustable track bar, adjustments to the brake lines as well. Also either ditch the sway bar or run disconnects.
