the space wouldnt be an issue; we're currently looking at buying a house and an RV pad, or at least room in the backyard to park a trailer is on the list of 'needs'. I'm leaning towards A, and justing sucking it up when it comes to long road trips without the MJ in tow. these trips are few and far between, but it still comes into consideration.

the arm? i believe it figures out of theres a load in the bed, and adjusts the brakes accordingly

here are my options: A.- buy an older dedicated tow vehicle (3/4ton -1 ton, probably diesel) that will be used for the purposes of hauling the crawler to/from trails, plus micellaneous other truck type stuff, AND have a small daily driver vehicle that gets much better gas mileage than the truck. little DD sees most of the 'everyday' driving. B.- buy a 1/2 ton truck that can tow the crawler around, but also be the DD. Will most likely get sub-par mpg, and will do 'okay' pulling a trailer on the hills. put lots of miles on between driving to work and driving to the trails. C. screw the tow rig, keep the comanche street legal, and hope that nothing breaks out on the trail. thoughts?

whatup! ok so my MJ is still in the build phase... but there are a bunch of other MJs around. Theres a gy with a red shortbed that works at the Dan's up on foothill, and a nice shortbed on 37s down in springville, pluse a white exo'd shortbed that ive seen out and about here and there. AND another kid (Dylan) that is building one up with a leaf spring front swap

same stuff as before; rear driveshaft, shocks, brakes, stuff like that.

i betcha rust has already started to take over

update: i started the chief yesterday; it fired up first try after sitting in below freezing temps for about a month. that is all :( no new parts. no new work done on it. nuthin. but the house search is going well. as soon as we have a new place, then the work will resume on the chief. I don't even have a shop now, so its kind of a downer. but here is a pic of it before i put it in 'dry storage'; i love the stance and how low it sits(23.5" to the frame under the cab). I'm hoping itll be very stable on the trails. I'm thinking about cutting off the lower section of the bed sides behind the rear axle, (probably along the body line), and then bending up some tube to protect the area. then building a bit more solid bumper off that. the stock bumper is fine for now, but the longer overhang will get caught on stuff. I'm gonna keep the full length bed for now, cause there is a local crawlcomp that i would need to keep all that 'junk in the trunk' back there to still fit into the stock class.

built stroker. 39" stickies on racelines. full exo cage. 231/300 doubler. built dana 60. built 14 bolt. hydro assist. this thing is EASILY worth $12k, but like previously said, he won't get that. don't write it off just cause its not a babied 92. even at asking price, someone would be getting a screaming deal. my guess is itll go for ~9k.

Been thinkin about getting some custom plates for my MJ when the time comes, since its only an extra $10/year here. I believe I have seven spaces to work with, and I can only work with letters and numbers; no symbols. Some that I came up with are: 88 MJ MANCHE 1TON MJ 88CHIEF MJCHIEF Any ideas? Does anyone else have MJ or offroad related license plates?
