  1. be sure to copy/paste all that drool-worthy goodness into a build thread.

I like to have options at the junkyard. and I can combine them with the 3/8" stuff if I need to get at a CPS.
  3. you should probably post that up as its own thread in Tech so more eyes will see it.
  4. I know the v6 had a 4wd option, but was it an AX-15? I was thinking it was a nv3500 or something along those lines.

lucky for you I have my junkyard socket case sitting right next to me. this is about what I used to get at the ecu screws without taking apart the lower dash. also wanted to show off my Pelican case. very compact and carries only the bits I want in the junkyard. I have a second that carries torx and other oddities. as a bonus it makes a little tray every time you open it up! the only bummer is that, while the case itself is super tough and waterproof, the latch doesn't usually stay closed if you drop it while full of sockets.

do the varied combinations of 10 different extensions and wobbly bits I combine together to get at bolts in an engine bay because I'm too lazy to use a ratchet instead of my impact driver count?
  7. watching someone break down a song into its individual components is just fascinating to me.
  8. what the... ?
  9. what made the difference?
  10. far as I know, the ax-15 was only 2wd in 4banger Dakotas. were they a 4wd option in v6 dakotas?
  11. 45% off this weekend so I went on back and found that the MJ, which was yanked from the yard waaaaay back when and returned just for me, was still there. So I got to work on the things I didn't have time for last trip and pulled the leafs, flywheel, spare tire winch, computer, and a couple other little things.
  12. just go buy another that's not as nice and mod the crap outta it.
  13. you MUST confirm that the distributor is installed properly. can't have fire without spark, fuel, air and timing.
  14. far as I know, the ax-15 in a dakotas was only offered in 2wd 4 bangers. have you tried car-part.com yet?
  15. I'll skip ya a step and just move this over to the pub. welcome to the addiction!
  16. I'd cry too if I sold that. wow!
  17. not sure if I could live with just a single MJ. But if I did, I'd want one that was mostly stock.
  18. indeed I did. how about a link to one vid:
  19. weird. must have copied the wrong address. just search for " what makes this song great"
  20. I've been burning through Rick Beato's vids on what makes a song great. super fascinating.
  21. seems the links we had are no longer active.
  22. the MJ is still easy, it's just... different. the truck cannot be in 4wd if the handle is in 2wd (assuming the linkage underneath is working properly of course). the light only tells you about the state of the CAD up front. and if it is indeed stuck engaged, that's not 4wd. just 2wd with an engaged CAD. later XJs just got rid of the whole thing and put in a one-piece axle in it's place.

    Yanked?

nope. Just like some families find they have to avoid certain topics around the dinner table, we too have some guidelines so as to avoid drama. Because people don't come here to hit the hard topics. They come to smile and take part in light-hearted banter about MJs and life. There are millions of other places on the internet to get into the big discussions, I don't feel the CC needs it too.
  24. if you want to simplify things, there's a link in my sig that contains a couple bypasses for the CAD and then you can rip out all the vacuum lines.
