how tight did you crank on it? I would give the steel a day to relax and then re-tighten, like a lot.

got 2 of those. plus a huge collection of disney, muppets, and other kids shows on tape. it's what my nephews watched while they were over here (aside from pbs)

I completely understand that being a milestone.

these reasons are why it's important to own multiple MJs. I certainly wouldn't want my only MJ to be a show queen.

I replaced all of my rivets with reusable ones. no regrets. but I've taken my stuff apart more times than I can count now. on the subject of little trim fasteners, where has this tool been my whole life!? It's in my toolbag now for sure.

tinted windows back in the day is not quite what we think of in more modern times. the code is correct though, and not recycled. found it on the back of my build sheet to verify

the frame caps are probably overrated anyway! I've "disassembled" plenty of the front ends, but I don't know if I've ever reinstalled one. sounds like a pain! I can be an audiophile when I want to (and have the budget to support it). I do enjoy quality in my tunes. but I'm broke and trying to do this on a budget of 0 dollars using 20 year old parts I have lying around (because they just weren't worth enough to sell at the moving sale). trust me, there are much better ways to do what I'm doing

minor victory! I swapped to the other channel in the line converter and things have improved!

minor setback. I wired up the amp and subwoofer and I'm getting a crackling noise along with the music. also the sound coming out of the speaker is quieter than I'd like. I think I might have to throw money on a new amp with built-in line converter and crossover. all my stuff is 20 years old and was super cheap when new. (except for the woofer. that cost me a pretty penny back in the day) I haven't given up quite yet. still have some thoughts to pursue...
