Proportioning Valve Problems, among other things
Pete M replied to thedadbodrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I guess I'm confused by "pin". can you circle what you're referring to? in my head, if one side of the front works, the other should too. it's possible that dirt got inside and is now plugging the end. it looks like a prop valve, but it doesn't do any proportioning, just shuttles over to open up the emergency bypass for the rear. so technically it's not a prop valve. (even though most everyone refers to is as such). MJs have the prop valve (height sensing) in the rear of the truck. -
that winch mount is rare as all get out whoops! looks like I missed a correction in the VIN printout. the longbeds got a 16 or a 23 gallon tank. (the "20 gal" refers to some other newer Jeep and is a reused code.)

Proportioning Valve Problems, among other things

I would pull the soft line of the caliper and see if fluid comes out at all. could be a DOA caliper. if still nothing, try pulling the hardline off the distribution block and see if fluid comes out there. I'd hate for you to go through all this to find its a pinched line. if you haven't seen it yet, the link in my signature has a thread about the factory bleeding procedure. it won't help clear a front line, but will help get the air out of the second rear line (the emergency bypass line) -
heck yeah!

good luck!

I slapped a 23 spline 242 behind an AX-15 in my old '90. and I know in years past others have done it too. not sure if I remember anyone doing it to a peugeot though. it for sure has the same 6 bolt pattern. I can't help you with anything else though, as the project never got finished before I moved and had to sell the truck.

I do, but it'll have to wait until after this whole bed fiasco. there were several different mounting styles, so you'll want to snap pics of what ya got so you know it'll match up.

well, we shall see soon enough how nice it really is. none are perfect, so I'm always worried about how picky my buyers will be.

I'm making a custom bed dolly. It's a work in progress because I can't yet afford to get the casters I want, but making use of the two I had as outriggers, plus putting the previous dolly in the middle has made it way easier to lug the beds around on the uneven ground.

why did I have to get into a hobby that involved such heavy items? ugh. but so far the knee is holding together.

officially goes up for sale at 11am Weds white longbed. found in Alabama. decent shape. has some surface rust. definitely some evidence of old damage on the lower bits. all you're buying in this listing is the bed and the fuel door. everything that unbolts has been removed by either me or the junkyard it came from. this is a used bed and will have other dents/scratches/etc. If you would like some high res images, I can send them via email. (the CC automatically shrinks all uploaded pics) $$$$$$ delivered to your driveway IF your driveway is somewhere near my route this trip. I cannot guarantee that the first member to post "I want it" will be the one that actually gets this exact bed, but they will be given preference for the next batch of beds. the crazy miles I gotta drive to get north and the fact that I can only carry a few beds at a time means I simply cannot go by the rule "first come, first served". I will try my hardest to give preference to the first replies. the window of opportunity for this drive is around the weekend of Nov 7th. I do not necessarily need you to be home to make delivery (I can unload and I can move it on flat ground with my hand cart), but I can't push it very far so you must make arrangements to either meet me when I can be there or apologize profusely to your HOA that you have a new lawn ornament for a few hours. delivery time/day will be given as soon as I have enough beds sold with a reasonable route planned. this will involve 40-50 hours of driving, so please understand I cannot make promises of times or even specific days if anything goes wrong along the way. I will of course be in contact via phone, so it's not like I'll surprise you with a bed one afternoon. ETAs will be updated as often as I can. once I have a route and buyers, I will let everyone know and a minimum $200 deposit is required via paypal. $100 of this is NOT refundable should you back out for any reason. None will be returned should you back out after I leave the house. all will be refunded if I have to back out for any reason. unless I die... then I guess you're kinda screwed. (sorry 'bout that in advance.) if you have any questions or need pics of anything more, let me know in this thread. once I have a route planned out, I will list the bed as sold and then communicate via private messages with the buyer. mountain dew sold separately wheelwells couple dents the paint flaked off here when I hit it with the power washer. this is not rust coming from the other side. the driver side ahead of the wheelwell shows evidence of a prior accident and bondo repair surface rust inside the lower extremities surface rust starting inside the bed. not too bad though. needs some POR-15 for sure

officially goes up for sale at 11am Weds light blue shortbed. fairly clean bed with some damage to the rear lower edges (plus evidence that this corner was "repaired" from an even earlier impact on the rear drivers side). unfortunately I wasn't the one to remove this bed and so 5 of the under-bed bolts are snapped off. 2 are bed mounting bolts, 1 of the e-brake bracket bolts and 2 for the spare tire winch bracket. all you're buying in this listing is the bed and the fuel door. everything that unbolts has been removed by either me or the junkyard it came from. this is a used bed and will have other dents/scratches/etc. If you would like some high res images, I can send them via email. officially goes up for sale at 11am Weds dark blue shortbed. this is from a Florida truck which was sitting for a few years under a tree. has surface rust that will need to be dealt with, but no rot. oh and and a big dent from said tree. all you're buying in this listing is the bed and the fuel door. everything that unbolts has been removed by either me or the junkyard it came from. this is a used bed and will have other dents/scratches/etc. If you would like some high res images, I can send them via email. @derf the AX-15 was 23 spline from the beginning, so march 1989 onward. for some reason the AW4 clung to the 21 spline until the HO came out.

nice! did you mention that the 4wd swap is pretty straightforward?

Don't Buy Valucraft Alternators - Shrapnel
Pete M replied to jamcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my mopar alternator in theh Libby finally died after like 200k. but it died in a bad location far from home and the best I could do on short notice was autozone. that alternator lasted, what, maybe a few months? eventually it started smelling like burning electronics. but this time I was back in GA and so I swapped it out for another old mopar from my parts pile. then I went to autozone to get it exchanged under warranty (because why not). so now I have a brand new alternator sitting around that I'm not sure what to do with. lord knows I'm not putting it in the Libby unless I'm desperate. -

the bolt pattern is the same. I don't remember anyone commenting on problems mounting them up, so I'm assuming shaft length is good too.
