  1. Who will be my friend and give me a 44 or 8.25? :D car-part.com should be able to show you junkyards that will sell you an XJ 8.25 for under $150. And don't forget that anytime you're swapping one axle is the time to contemplate swapping 2 and getting batter gears. :D
  2. Friends don't let friends drive on Dana 35s.
  3. Buy some goggles and you'll be fine. 8) I had a buddy that busted the windshield in his willys (endo-ed it a couple times down a hill) and that never stopped him from wheelin'. He said driving down dirt roads behind someone was the worst. Here's Joe and his '47 (or was it 52?):
  4. Well, you'll have to trust me that I have pictures. We can't seem to find the camera cable at the moment. Update: The truck is out of the garage! Yay! And then it stopped running and won't fire back up. Boooo! But back to the good news, all four mx-6 shocks are fully installed, the brakes need to be bled again but are finished, and the rear driveshaft is of the right length (or at least close enough). Turns out there's a 1/4" difference between the TJ yoke and the MJ yoke but more on that once I get pics. Tomorrow will be spent trying to figure out why the fuel pump suddenly won't do anything (and looking for the camera's cable). I've got power up to the connector right by the tank, but it still doesn't do squat. Boooo! :headpop:
  5. Hey, I thought you didn't like political threads on here!!! :D :rotf: Tried and convicted. I'd say he's fair game now for a jab or two. :D Plus he's not in office anymore so technically it's not politics.
  6. Pennies spent on oil filters are pennies worth while. Buy the cheapest oil you can, but spend some coin on the filter. You really do get something for the money. Fram just happens to have some sort of design or quality control issues.
  7. I also had a fram suddenly start restricting flow. Down to 0psi. On the highway. On the way to go wheeling. I'll never use a 4.0 fram again.

    Comanches doubt

After checking with the 89 dealership brochure, what we have here is one of those odd differences between the XJ and MJ. The gauges were standard on the XJ pioneer, but were still an option on the MJ pioneer.
  9. What would the internet be without photoshop.
  10. If you guys want to be free and clear of hurricanes, just come on up to Michigan. :D No hurricanes, no floods, no earthquakes, no annual wildfires, no natural disasters of any kind (except for the odd tornado). We like to manufacture our own disasters up here. Like pollution, and rust, and Kwame...
  11. Look for the row of bolts running lengthwise along the bottom edge of the Peugeot. It looks just like the top of the Peugeot.
  12. Couple more photos for comparison. and here's a couple 2wd versions. AX-15 is on the left:
  13. Well, there's only one way to find out for sure if something will work... :D Are you displeased with it structurally or cosmetically? If it just looks ugly, a have a feeling that a flare will cover it up nicely. :brows:
  14. I just realized my QB, best WR and my kicker all have the same bye week.
  15. Since they stopped making the previous stuff (which was super expensive anyways), the new recommendation from Jeep is to use regular engine oil. 10w40 I think. There are sulphor compounds in the GL-5 gear oils that eat yellow metals.
  16. He could have been right. If you put the wrong gear oil in the AX-15 it'll eat up the synchros.
  17. She was also into the regular kinds of car racing, but the drifting caught me off guard.
  18. I just learned that she drift races with one of her sons. I gotta admit, I was not expecting that.
  19. I concur. And not just because she's attractive, but because picking some boring old white guy from Washington would have been, well, boring. ho-hum. yawn. Instead he picked a fiery lady that no one really knows. It sparks renewed interest in the elections and he disparately needed something to force the media to pay attention to his side of november's coin. Plus after a while all the Obama and McCain speeches just kinda blur together and now we finally get a couple new speakers to check out (and it appears you guys are doing some of that already :brows: ). And I'll use this opportunity to remind everyone to observe rule number 1 when discussing politics. And that includes being nice to the candidates, etc.
  20. But it's an entertaining meaningless, time-consuming internet addiction. :D And I'm betting most are more funny than true.
  21. I'll see what I can do about making it a DIY post.

  24. I'm sorry but that is one of the funniest things ever sounds like a prank or something. lol sorry Pete not making fun of you sounds like somthing I would try. :laughin: Make all the fun you want, it was a bonehead move for sure. I'm not the only person to think of it though. A few months ago I was able to discourage someone from trying the very same thing. Life is all about passing on knowledge.
