  1. As I understand it, the longer shackles put more leverage on the leafs (in regards to spring wrap) and can increase sag over time. A shackle should be matched to the leaf packs (as they do from the factory), not used to add height.
  2. cut the back few inches off a junkyard MJ and mount the whole thing on the wall with the new pieces installed.
  3. stock shocks "should" work ok for under 2" of lift. for the AAL, see his post in our classifieds: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18787
  4. that is exactly what hellcreek's new AAL is for. more support without lift.
  5. shackles might make it worse. Look into the AALs that hellcreek is making. They fix the sag.
  6. just don't get any closer and it'll remain a sharp looking truck. :D
  7. I also recommend upgrading the carb if you can
  8. the link should tell you what's needed. it's not much harder than swapping in a new 2.8L
  9. my 86:
  10. for a mere three thousand dollar investment... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/1433122802.html
  11. how much of a project do you want? It's totally possible to buy a whole car and swap in the fuel injection. But if you're not up to wiring all that, the block/heads are what you're looking for.
  12. I don't have an answer, but was curious as to why you're asking. :hmm:
  13. go with the block from a 3.4L camaro/firebird. it's identical on the outside and will accept all your current accessories/intake/exhaust. http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/a ... ?id=277008
  14. My brain is telling me that the 8.25 is some where between the 44 and 35 in snout length, so it should work just fine.
  15. there's a fix for the door hinges in the DIY forum.
  16. I'd soooo totally mount them up on the wall. :D
  17. the front brakes changed. you'll need to keep the different eras together as a set. be sure to cap the vaccum source for the old front axle. Other than that, the front should go right in.
  18. make sure nothing is wrong with it. A clogged cat, a bad sensor, clogged fuel filter, bad injector, failing fuel pump, etc. can cause power issues.
  19. No pluses needed. Just type in your words and make sure "Search for all terms" is checked.
  20. If you wait til the lift, it'll be perfect. Might be pretty tight since the 44 has a 1" longer snout on it.
  21. according to randys ring and pinion, it's apparently the same assembly used in Vipers and Corvettes.
  22. yes, you'll need to swap both axles.
  23. what do you mean?
