  1. so all in all as long as the rear leaf springs are 57" you're good for lift right? Redwolf
  2. Cool deal! Thanks for the info Yep. The springs are the same on LWB and SWB models. sweet, that's what i wanted to know, no to start lookin for lifts that i can't afford lol :rotfl2: Redwolf
  3. one other question cause i just thought of this, could a lwb comanche use a swb comanche lift and could a swb comanche (or lwb) use a lift off a cherokee? Redwolf
  4. kinda hard to tell at an angle but looks like a good amount of lift for a daliy driver, Redwolf
  5. i too am lookin to put a lift on my MJ but i'm on the fence between the 3'' and the 5'' i'd like to see stock next to the 3'' lift if possible, Redwolf
  6. gee and that was is the common XJ engine in the yards round here, Redwolf
  7. dang, alright, any idea what the part number was? google is a wonderful thing to search when ya got the numbers :) Redwolf
  8. alright fingers crossed :) Redwolf
  9. i'm out in Virginia Beach, i've seen about 10 MJs since i first bought mine and none of em have had a CC sticker, i throw CC cards out on MJs when i can like no tomorrow lol, Redwolf
  10. shoot, my MJ won't even go 50 without wobblin all over the place, i'll be killed if i did that, Redwolf
  11. that shifter boot, where can i get one like it? i've been lookin high and low for one, Redwolf
  12. man i really gotta plan for one of these uwharrie trips, i think this is the second one my local jeep club is doin, and a chance to see more MJs? man i need to plan ahead, Redwolf
  13. so i checked out the wheel bearings today at advance, i think it was the front outter one, threw me off at first cause of the race, when i repacked mine thursday i didn't pull a race out, just a tapered cone bearing, but the cone bearing inside the A-2 bearing kit does look right  now to cough up 160 for a front end brake job, rotors, pads, bearings and seals lol, Redwolf
  14. ok sweet so all i have to buy is the wheel bearings and it comes with the race right? Redwolf
  15. The bearing under the dust cap is the one on the outside of your MJ. This should tell you which bearing is the outer. Now you can go on the O'Reillys site, and get the part numbers for the inner and outer bearings. One each required for each rotor. Get the National-brand bearings. Look it up yourself, then repost the part numbers you think are correct and we'll check it for you. inner: JLM603048F and outter: 25590 :hmm: Also would the "cone" as advance calls it (which is where i got those numbers) all i need or do i need the wheel bearing cup, as soon in link http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/national-tapered-cup-wheel-bearing-jlm603013z/5052890-P?searchTerm=wheel+bearings Redwolf
  16. alright guys, i'm not tryin to drag this thread out but i need yalls help again, i repacked my barrings today and the seals fit like a glove  but i'm still having a wobble when i hit 55mph and when i hit the breaks it's worse so i'm assuming it's my rotors and since i'd replace the rotors i'm gonna replace the barrings too, but when i repacked my barrings i have 2 barrings in one hub; one was smaller (the one right under the dust cap) and the other way bigger (under the seal on the back of the rotor. I was wondering if yall knew if the smaller one is an inner and the bigger one is an outter, and if possible could i get a part number again :D Redwolf
  17. thanks guys, i was just wondering cause i've never seen black gears other than on my bosses truck but when we sprayed those, it came out silver (for the most part anyhow) but i think i'll do it again when i do my trans, unless is keeps leakin and i go the RTV gasket route; and yxmj, how'd i know ya would bring that up lol, no i didn't, i didn't have the MJ up in the air to spend the tires to count the teeth, nor did i have the time, i did this at work (since i get half off on everything and boss didn't care) and when i was finishing up it was an hour till closing, Redwolf
  18. So i finally got around to servicing my rear diff on my MJ and when i pulled the cover i found black gears, the whole inside was black. I sprayed break cleaner on it and wiped it with a red shop towel thinkin that'd clean it up.....NOPE....the whole inside stayed black, but the inside of the diff cover was black too and i got that to a nice bright shiny silver, any ideas why the inside of the diff is black? The Diff Cover The Top Of The Gears The Bottom Of The Gears The Head On View Redwolf
  19. i agree with yall, when i do the repackin i am gonna inspect the barrings, if they look 28 years old they're gettin replaced, if they still look good and strong i'm just repackin em, Redwolf
  20. ok i got it now, but one more question, bein that i'm just repacking my wheel barrings, do i just need to get the National Seal p/n 6815 posted above and do i just need 2, one for each side or do i need 2 for each side? Redwolf
  21. what are, the link or the 3 different seals and the 2 different designs? Redwolf The three different seals and two designs. The original AMC hub/bearing units could be serviced -- you could purchase new bearings and seals, and rebuild a hub. The cost of all the parts was about the same as the cost of a complete new hub, so very few people ever did it -- and it required a 12-ton shop press to do the work. Chrysler changed the design, and the later ones are not considered to be user serviceable. Parts to service ONE 4WD front hub (1984 - 1989): And here's an exploded view of the front axle, with the front hub itself opened up to the individual parts: ok so let me see if i got this right, for my 86 MJ RWD (2WD) all i need is the front inner seal, no outter, no center right? just really confused with this all and the fact that there is 2 diferent "designs". another thing, lookin at the exploded picture it looks like 2 seals and 2 bearing for one side of the axle, is that my lack of knowledge or me lookin at it wrong? Redwolf
  22. ok then should there be some screws on the back of a seatbelt to take it apart to put that one in and where could i find another? Redwolf
  23. what are, the link or the 3 different seals and the 2 different designs? Redwolf
  24. i can see that, but i only got one and i have buttons on my seatbelt anchors, could it be a cover for a button? Redwolf
  25. You need seals for a 1986 2WD Comanche. Why do you even have to ask? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1986-Jeep-Comanche-2WD/Wheel-Seal-Front/_/N-iixsvZ8oxmo now why can't advance be that simple, if i look up wheel seals at advance i get an inner, outter, and center seal and i get a 1st design and a 2nd design, it makes no since to me, Redwolf
