Couldn't have said it any better than that Chief. If you want to see the results of "popular vote", look no further than Virginia. Geographically, about 98% of the state voted one way, but the population centers of northern VA (the DC area) and Tidewater (Norfolk area) swung the vote for the entire state. Those who seek this solution know that, and that's why they are pushing it. It's nothing more than disproportionate representation.

If it passes, and I'm probably pretty sure it will....I hope it comes back and bites them SO hard in the @$$. "elections have consequences" is the current lingo here. That blade cuts both ways.

Any time I want to hear I'm doing something completely wrong, whatever it is, I post over there. LOL.

Apologies....it was never my intent to get anyone all riled up. All I was doing was making a public declaration that my wife and I no longer own any firearms/accessories of the type associated with the current legislation. I posted the same thing over on Garage Journal and it likewise got booted too, because of thread drift. But, at least it's out there in a couple different places, somewhere in the electronic universe. For future use, if needed. Like I said, I play the long game. Jeff

Renix 2.5 stuff, as mentioned. Especially the engine sensors. AX-15 related parts (including the trans itself)....crossmember, shift rods/linkages and brackets (especially the bracket bolted to the trans tunnel), spare tire jack, tailgate latches, bucket seat floor brackets, fuel pump assemblies, tow hooks/brackets, rear window sliders.

^^^one of my favorite Steven Wright bits (my wife absolutely can't stand him or his style of humor, I love it....) I want to know what the A/C compressor did to not get invited inside, LOL.

Roller rockers in the POS KJ 3.7.....pulled a cam out of the junkyard and swapped it in. It works fine. Just sayin'

Talk about a nickel holding up a dollar.....that dowel pin. I can order it online for $3 and some change, but also with $13 shipping..... I actually went to the dealership yesterday, they are ordering it in for me (picking it up today after work) for $7. LOL. So that'll be $17 total to repair my original camshaft. That's exactly what I paid the junkyard for the camshaft I pulled and installed, which is running absolutely perfectly.

I had to spend 10 hours at my work yesterday (on my day off) to figure out how to fix a malfunctioning fire and security system on the building. I got home around 1900 last night with a sore @$$ and rotten disposition in general. I now see how I didn't have the worst day that I could have.

Windshield washer problem
mjeff87 replied to watchamakalit's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I know you said the pump checks out good...did you ohm it out for that test? Try using some jumpers and power the pump direct from the battery and see what happens. It might suck, it might blow, or it might do nothing, lol. -
There's all kinda something weird about that Coronet then (not an unusual sight in a junkyard, LOL....). It's a 4-door hardtop, which would have been a "base" model (not a 440 or 500 trim), right? It only had one "440" fender badge on it (passenger side). Driver side had just the Coronet emblem, which I thought about grabbing. Probably should have. The grill, headlight bezels, and basically all the exterior trim are gone off it. The only straight body panel on it (or without copious amounts of rust) is the passenger side fender. Interior is basically still there, but in pretty poor condition. I can run back down again and look for more stuff/take pics for you if you want but it won't be until Saturday. I've seen some MUCH worse stuff in the junkyard that my buddy grabs and resells. I don't run in those circles, but there's alot of stuff I'd classify as not worth pulling that apparently is. I suppose it'll be like that with our MJ's, if it's not already halfway there....

I hear that. About half my MJ was built from the junkyard, LOL. This is the beast of a Coronet. It was a mudpit down there this past weekend because it rained all day here last Friday. There's a KJ with a brand new set of loaded front struts in it, which mine doesn't need yet (but will eventually). It was too muddy/cold for me to want to mess with them. If they're still there next weekend, I might go grab them. NOT a 440 but sure does look like one. It's a small block 318, but it's the "wide" version made mid 50's-mid 60-'s. As wide as a big block Mopar (383 wedge) due to the heads. They are "polyspherical", hence the nickname Poly 318. Also has the dizzy in the back of the block (BB's have them in the front) and a 2BBL manifold. Those, plus the shape of the valve covers are a dead giveaway.

Sometimes I just go junkyarding to see what's there, not needing anything in particular. My buddy is an old Mopar nut, and I look for stuff for him. This past weekend I was looking for a set of XJ tow hooks for Minuit in my local yard, and spotted a land ark a few rows down. Went over to investigate and saw it was a 65 Coronet. It had the 440 emblems on the front fenders and I got really excited. Until I popped the hood and saw that someone previously swapped in a wide block (Poly) 318. While that's a bit of a rarity in itself, it's not a 440. My buddy was halfway to his truck to come down and pull it, lol. He did ask me to check to see if it had disc brakes, but it had drums all around. Or actually, just drums on the front. The PO actually REMOVED all of the drum hardware on the rear brakes and capped off the lines. Holy hell, I couldn't imagine trying to stop that thing with only front drums, especially if flogging it with that original 440.

We all should plan some kind of southeast area pow wow for this year. I'm only 2 hours or so from the RDU area.

Dropped off my old camshaft at the speed shop a couple weeks ago. They drilled and tapped the POS pin and pulled it out for me for the tidy sum of $10, lol. Ill press a new pin in it and keep it as a spare. They're pretty hard to find new anymore.

Ayup. Minuit is.

Minuit....I went to 2 different yards today. Fist one had 3 XJ's, none of them had hooks. The other one was new to me, they had 9 XJ's. 8 of them didn't have hooks, the other one did but someone grabbed them already. I'll keep looking. That second yard also had a ton of KJ's. One of them had a brand spankin new set of loaded front struts. My KJ doesn't need them yet, but will eventually. I just didn't have the gumption to pull them....it rained all day here yesterday and overnight, and the place was a total mud pit. Plus it's only like 40 degrees here today and misting. The kind of weather that just chills you to the core, so I bailed. I R a wimp. I might run up on Monday and grab them, it's supposed to be almost 70 here. My wife is having oral surgery in prep for an implant and I took the day off to drive her up and back. I might pour her back onto the couch afterward and then run back up there, lol.

No worries Brent, thanks for checking anyways

My work network admins block Imgur, so there's that.

10-4. I might try to swing down on Saturday and see what in there. I've got to swap steering knuckles on my Focus first, so I'm sure I'll end up needing something from the yard in the process.

Factory tow hooks, ever seen this part?
mjeff87 replied to schardein's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had the factory front towbar on my MJ (got it off an XJ in the junkyard). I vaguely remember those little brackets, I think. I was somehow able to get the tow bar and the hooks to play nice together, but I don't remember the exact setup anymore. I used to have a really nice set of pics showing how I installed it all (even had a thread on here about it a long time ago) but sadly all those old pics went away thanks to Photobucket. Here's the only pics I still have showing the towbar and hook setup I ran. I didn't use the towbar as actually intended, but rather to stiffen up things between the framerails underneath the radiator support. That bar is/was fairly stout, and added a bunch of rigidity to the front end. -
I need a non-Jeep part, if you're willing to look for it (and if the yard has any later model vehicles). Rear passenger side taillight assembly for a 2014 Dodge Caravan. My yards don't have any caravans in right now, otherwise I'd go snag one myself. It's actually for my father in law, not me directly. He backed his van into the side of the house and cracked the light a couple weeks ago....MIL called asking if I could find him one. She knows how much I love junkyards, LOL. If you can't, no biggie. I'll end up getting one from here, eventually.

You are talking about the FRONT tow hooks, yes? If you mean the rear XJ hooks, I've only ever seen one XJ up here with those.

Lol. Send that AX15 crossmember off to Killernoise
