  1. Thanks BK. The visors are made by Lund and are MJ-specific. They pop up occasionally on Ebay and Craigslist. http://classifieds.pennswoods.net/classifieds/viewad.cgi?adindex=461301
  2. The Rampage lamps are okay for use as direct replacements for the factory driving lamps. If you didn't use the Rampage lamps to replace factory lamps, most of the wiring is already there in your existing harness to utilize. Basically all you have to do is wire in the relay and trigger it with the switch. I can send you a wiring diagram how to do this if you want to make it right. :D
  3. Thanks y'all very much. Your comments are sincerely appreciated; makes it all worthwhile. :D
  4. The replacement is called a SHOCK ABSORBER KIT, p/n 83500358, and available from the dealer as an assembly w. new hardware for each end, about $80. But the 2.5 already has left and right engine mounts and a tranny mount like the 4.0L, so like Eagle says, I can't see it being necessary either. :D
  5. Been getting a few requests to post some before and after pics over the years, so here goes. NOT done yet, never will be. :D
  6. That's a stock power antenna I have on mine.
  7. X2 on the center pin.
  8. Thanks Joe - yes it's a Reflexxion steel hood. The hood paint is just a hair darker, but I'm hoping it will eventually fade a bit as the rest did. Rob, the decal was originally installed by the dealer as they did sometimes back then. Below is an original pic taken in 1999. I wanted to keep it the same when I had it repainted. If I had to do it again now, I'm not sure what I would do, but the decal stays for now. :D
  9. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That system worked great but would require major surgery on the firewall and wiper motor cavity to install.
  10. Yeah Paul, all the wiper post needs is about 3/8" lowering to clear. I'm going to play around with it too, maybe modify the wiper arm cup itself or the bend of the arm in the parked position. Haven't had time yet. If only Reflexxion had punched the cowl out about 1/2" higher, all would be golden. I'll let you know too if I come up with something.
  11. Jeesh - watching the fights tonight on SHO; they just announced that Arturo Gatti was found dead in a hotel room today in Brazil while on vacation. He was only 37. This is unreal.............
  12. Thanks guys. I had my friend who owns a local body shop paint it - I just purchased the paint and the beer and did the prep. The Reflexxion hood is fully functional, and sucks out a LOT of air. I'll take some pics of the underside tomorrow. And yes, the hood cowl does hit the left wiper arm if you use the top hole for the prop rod, but clears fine if you remove the wiper arm. I'm going to reinstall my Redline prop struts too and just leave the passenger's wiper arm off unless I really need it. Takes about a second to pop on or off. :D
  13. If you used these Rampage lights to replace existing factory Jeep driving lights, you may be okay because the factory driving lights were wired thru a relay. If you just added them and installed your own wiring & switch, they should definitely be on a relay especially with an H4 bulb.
  14. Yep. Out in Colorado baby. NOT sir Sam. :D
  15. Thanks. The old hood with the ZJ Limited vents is on Ebay HERE.
  16. Oops - just noticed the right front corner is not latched all the way down. It lines up all around pretty well though after I finally got all the shims arranged.
  17. Possible bad gas you might have just purchased? :dunno:
  18. Man, what a saga. This guy sounds like a real turkey who's word means nothing; not an uncommon thing down here I've found. I spotted a black 89 2WD 4.0 auto this morning sitting in a yard, but nobody home when I knocked. A neighbor said it runs great though. The body is great on this guy, it's a SWB. I'll cruise by next Monday and post it up if I find out anything.
  19. Not to doubt you Pete, but the stock length LCA's will work fine for up to 3" lift, which I have. Although I'm using WJ LCA's (same length as the XJ/MJ stockers), my caster is spot on. I did have to add a couple of shims behind the LCAs to get it correct, but there's room behind them to extend w. shims to almost 3/4" longer.
  20. This is also a great way to insert/remove shims on the corner latches to get the new hood leveled up in front.
  21. Pete; You saved my arse today with this post. Was putting on a new cowl hood, shifted the release cable rods etc. over, hooked everything back up, then slammed the hood. I forgot to pop-rivet the bellcrank on the new hood! Of course the hood would not open..........
  22. This it? http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1115&hilit=stroker
  23. Hey Correy - beat you for once. :nanner:
  24. He's asking about an 89 Renix TBI 4-banger. But a 4-banger head in that range should bolt right up too.
  25. Aye, the Five Man Electrical Band. Prolly the best band ever from Canada. :Canadaflag: Loved that tune.
