  1. The last year for the column mounted shift indicator was 1986, so it's an 84-86 XJ Utility model, probably military.

You were probably at Andersen then, si? I was at the NavCommsSta. Dededo was good, but liked Talafofo a little better. And the barrio fiestas were all good.

Me too Jim. Remembering all the fresh fish fries, and snorkeling / grabbing all the langusta lobsters you need from the reef for free. Uncle limited us to a three year tour, but did manage to stretch it out for five. Would still be there if I could. And had the wife and kids there too for the entire time. But had to return to the real world to retire unfortunately.........
  4. I've not used a non-vacuum FPR so really can't comment. Although I use a Hesco AFPR with good results, there are other aftermarket vendors that are cheaper, like here: http://www.strokedje.../regulator.html Another cheaper option is to use a non-adjustable FPR that operates at a higher pressure than the stock 31/39 PSI, like the Chrysler #4418850, 5277829 or 5277864 regulators, called PR211 by aftermarketeers. These regulators will bump the pressure up to 40 idle and 48PSI at WOT and are a direct replacement on the HO fuel rail, if that's what you have. When/if my Hesco AFPR craps out, I will replace it with one of these fixed regulators since that's about the pressure I run now. And they only cost about $40 too.

Still have your email address - won't need it though. Make sure you have mine. If not I'll relay it shortly after the game, although we'll probably know the ultimate result after the third quarter when Kaepernick is knocked out of the game. I'm well familiar with Pacific oysters, although not the puny quarter pounders y'all cultivate in polluted farms. I'm talking about the monster half pounders and up that grow wild in pristine locales like the Marshall Isles and Guam. Just wade out on low tide and grab all you want, ice 'em down for about an hour, shuck 'em out, dip in calamansi juice and hot sauce, and slide them down with a cold beer. Mmmmmm good.

$25 via Paypal says you're wrong Charlie. And a real man eats his oysters raw w. a dash of lemon and hot sauce.
  7. No, just assuming he got an offer he couldn't refuse. I know, don't ASSuME............
  8. Larry, I've found the adj. MAP is really only effective from 80% throttle opening to WOT when the ECU is in open loop mode. Below that the ECU will keep the A/F mixture right around stoichiometric (14.7 on the meter) no matter what voltage the MAP is sending to the ECU. I've verified this with my A/F meter and on the dyno. If it's running that lean I'd suggest larger injectors with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to fine tune it across the entire power band. Especially with the Clifford headers.
  9. That's a super writeup Jay. There's not much I hate worse than going down, deep, and dirty into the steering column. This will make it a lot less frustrating.
  10. Hmm. So you just swap in a 4.2 crank into a 4.0 and automatically you have a 4.6L engine? What do you do about the increased stroke? Just add injectors?
  11. What's that got to do with the deteriorated topic Sam? Back on topic: I just can't stand BUFFs, never could. Guess I was spoiled with all the petite Asian ladies who didn't speak English. Remember this great classic? Makes a lot of sense.
  12. Glad I ate already........
  13. You are. But you crack me up. :jump:
  14. You're right. Good point. But it could be a platonic relationship. Like we have here.
  15. :agree: Especially on forum input. Marcel tells it like it is, shares his knowledge with all members, and is one of a handful I carefully listen to. Congrats!
  16. Me too.
  17. I am really getting sick of the endless "online dating" web sites popping up with their endless commercials now flooding every TV channel. It started a few years ago when any normal person could apply (for a fee I guess) like match.com and eharmony.com. Now they are becoming much more specialized. There are sites airing commercials for farmers only, over 50 only, black people only, commitments only, non-commitments only, Christians only, Jewish only, single parents only, etc. etc. ad nauseaum. Obviously many people use these "services" or they wouldn't happen. What's next? Beer drinkers only, Martians only, pedophiles only, necrophiliacs only? I'm tired of it. Maybe, if I were in the market, and I'm sure not, if there were a MJ lovers only site, I might apply.

I'm very tired of the Ray Lewis media circus too. But not so tired I'd ever pull for the Niners. Maybe I would though if Montana was still playing.
  20. That's an exaggeration. The fender flares are black as well as the tires. You also forgot to mention the mostly chromed undercarriage.
  21. Installed the NOS 94-99 dizzy today since I'm getting a code 54 (Distributor sync pickup - Change sync sensor in distributor). Picked up a new Mopar unit for just a little more than buying a new sync pickup for the original unit. Anyhow, got her in and clocked right, plugged all the wires back in, and crank/crank/crank with no start. Rechecked everything about umpteen times, even reset the dizzy using the TDC compression stroke procedure. Was getting pissed and suspected the new dizzy pickup was bad or it had a compatibility issue with the 91 system and was going to throw the old distributor back in just to see if it would start. But tried it one more time after rechecking again and mistakenly put the old dizzy cap on. BOOM, started right up instantly. The The 91-93 and 94-99 distributors are completely different. They use the same cap but the rotor is different. I noticed I had put the old cap on, the engine ran fine, and immediately deduced something might be wrong with the new cap. Clever, right? Turned out that the carbon push button in the cap that the rotor rides on was completely disintegrated and stuck and I had an good sized air gap on the dizzy output to the coil. I guess after twenty years or so sitting on a shelf stuff happens. Three hours to complete what is normally 30 minute job. Lesson learned. She runs great now w. no more fault codes.

I'm not really into it this year as my teams have been KOed (Giants and Pats), but I have to go with the East Coast Ravens. I think their D with Ray L and company will keep Kaepernick mostly in the pocket and force him to pass more than he wants (read picks). Flacco is playing great right now and I think Baltimore wins by a field goal. Mom and Dad Harbaugh will be calling psycho Jim first since he'll be the loser. Maybe.............
  23. This rig is most likely running hot because the grille intake is blocked by all those lights.
  24. Agree. I located the ZJ vents toward the rear initially since the only stroker cooling problems I had were at slow speed, hot weather, in traffic. Didn't help at all. Then tried the el-cheapo 1" shim rear hood lift at the windshield, which did help considerably. Then looked for a true cowl hood. Agree also. Dumped the mechanical fan and upgraded to two 10-blade E-fans. Helped immensely. For me, the cowl hood was the final answer. It works in all conditions, and the second e-fan may kick on on 100* plus days stuck in traffic. I picked up a used cowl hood on Ebay for $150 shipped, so not for the "ultra rich". Tool time. Hood scoops and vents need to be tailored to specific conditions. Most don't do sheite. But if you are looking for cool factor aesthetics and not worried about destroying your hood, go for it.
