  1. Fluid drive by Chrysler. The problem with this system however was drive train power loss, like about 40%.
  2. Yeah, UB right Bo. I'll scrap this idea. Thank for all the commentary guys.
  3. Someone got it - well bought. Anyone here?
  4. Gotta have 'em. :rotfl2:
  5. Unless you bought it, you are making that up. When I look at the auciton it says: "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.". I didn't pick the truck apart at all, it's a sweet truck and worth that. Yep, UB right. Either a local sale and/or trying avoiding the Ebay 10% Final Value fee.
  6. Muchas gracias seƱor. I just wish I had 1/10 of your metal fab skills Ben.  I got it! 31's on the front, 33's on the back!
  7. Har - I fixed that, sort of. I installed 1" shorter struts. Now it opens about as far as it did previously with the old prop rod and I can leave the wiper arms on all the time.
  8. Well, you gotta pull the wipers, the cowl vent, and the washer lines. Maybe I'm just lazy. :dunno:
  9. Sounds like a nice trip Jim. I did a similar trip on the other side of the world with a 1974 R75/6 while I was working in Singapore in the late 80s. Me and a group of Brits rode up the Malaysian peninsula from Singapore to Bangkok, with stops in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and other places along the ocean I couldn't pronounce, then back. It's about 900 miles one way and it took about a week and a half of easy riding. The Brits were mostly riding big twin Triumphs, Nortons, BSAs, and one Ariel that were constantly breaking for one reason or the other. The Beemer, like yours, ran great the whole trip except for a flat tire on the way back. Super reliable bikes with a timeless design and no vibrations.
  10. Good guess Pete. In screwing around looking at every angle, the 33x10.50x15 BFGs are going to rub slightly unless I do some minor trimming. The "corner" of the 33 tire will just rub on the lower front flare nubs when turning. Elsewhere all is fine front and rear. Now it's just a matter of deciding if I want to do this or not...
  11. When the tire manufacturer publishes the min / max wheel widths, that's good enough for me. You are posting extreme examples; wheel widths under and over the manufacturers recommended minimum and maximum. Of course that's dead wrong, and I wouldn't do it for a road vehicle. http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-selector/size/33/10.50/15/OE/BNW/all-terrain-t-a-ko/tire-details#techspecs
  12. Amsoil make this same size filter, but it's dry - doesn't need periodic douching and oiling that the K&N filters do. This might be a viable option because of the PITA-to- get to location in the cowl.
  13. HERE. These are normally well over $100. Not mine!
  14. ^^ LED 561 bulbs work well in the cargo light.
  15. Wrong. The recommended wheel width spec for a 10.50 tire is 7"-9". Look it up.
  16. Zackly Pete. What I've been thinking and figuring all along.
  17. Have never been a Harley fan - sounds anti-American I know. For me it's always been old school British or German thumpers for around town, and BMWs for the long trips. Most all the long rides for me were overseas, and there was zero support for Harleys, so I fell in love with the BMW airheads. They were everywhere, were reliable as a Swiss watch, and on the rare occasions you broke down it was easy to find parts anywhere. Anyhow, I digress. Excellent advice from Frank above - that's universal. Ride defensively, stay safe Bo.
  18. Freaking A! Hope you only drive it around in flatline country. Looks like you do.
  19. Thanks PFC - exactly what I wanted to see. Those meats look great. You are roughly 2.5" higher than I, so it would be a tight squeeze in the wheel wells for moi.
  20. Agree. No worries with the WJ LCAs, but the stock UCAs could be close. If only someone made a 32x10.5x15 tire............ And cutting anything for clearance is not an option.
  21. Yes, stock offset 7" wide Jeep turbine wheels. I think the 33x10.5x15's will fit. They are the same 10.5 width as my 31s so no control arm rub should happen, and the 2" difference in tire height (30.7" vs. 32.7") looks like it won't be a problem all around the circumference of the tires. Plus I have 1.25 spacers on the rear. Thanks for your info Pike. If anyone has any more info as to why these won't fit, let me know. Open to all info.
  22. Well I do have the WJ curved LCAs, so that would help. No offroad either. 33-9.5-33?
  23. Any pics? I'm at 3" lift, so :dunno: .
  24. Same exact width as I have now and exactly 2" taller than the 31s I'm running now. My calibrated eyeball says there's plenty of room for that height difference. But haven't calibrated it in awhile............
  25. What HV pump? Never heard of that. I've been running the Hesco HV pump in my stroker for about ten years now with no problems in the installation or running it all those years. Melling M167HVS. :dunno:
