  1. Thanks for checking out the build guys! It's been going stupid slow. I've had multiple interruptions recently. Hopefully I can get things rolling during the holidays. Doubtful though, we'll be traveling south Christmas week. Today was spent rearranging the garage, had to make room for the lawn tractor/snow blower. Our area is under it's first winter storm warning of the season. I need more MJ space...or fewer MJs. :shake: It was necessary to temporarily move the project outside. The doors had been removed in preparation of the newer style and I had scavenged parts for the Eliminator project. The glass was also removed making the tarp necessary.
  2. Hey Dude! Looks like you have a very nice platform. The truck looks petty much stock, is that the case? I'm just down the road, about 2 1/2 hrs. What are your plans? PM sent.
  3. Sweet ride but heck of a place to take a picture. Johnny, can you lead us to a link on this Jeep?
  4. First time I ever saw anything like that on a Comanche. It's a very sleek look. How about posting a few pictures from other angles?
  5. This post is primarily for me. I wanted to link the MJOTM experience to my build thread so it would be easier for me to find when this year has been moth-balled. http://comancheclub.com/topic/40392-comanche-of-the-month-october-2013-earlts-89-eliminator/
  6. Thanks CommaComanche. I'm glad you like the build. Good luck with yours. Your statement of perfection is too kind. There is always room for improvement. Given the opportunity to do it again, there are subtle things I would do differently to add to the truck's overall appearance. And as for performance, I basically haven't done anything. I encourage you to use the ideas you like and improve on them.
  7. Very nice. Keep up the good work. :wrench:
  8. Congratulations on finding the Comanche isle at Wal-Mart! Welcome.
  9. Don't know what it is, but it sure is purtty.
  10. The utility bed is an interesting twist. Would you care to share the back story and your plans for using this truck?
  11. It's time to pull this one out of the moth balls. Finally got around to mocking up the long arm.
  12. :rotf: "...lifts are the work of the devil"...How do you really feel? :laughin: Your passion is undeniable!
  13. Thanks for the suggestion but these have a few miles left on them. Being that my Eliminator is 2WD, IMHO off road tread design would be somewhat of a contradiction. Thanks for your interest even though we have differing opinions. It's all good. Our area has already had three snow falls. This truck will only see salted roads in the event of an unforeseen emergency.
  14. One of my ideas just showed up in the Pub, I Want One. 'nuff Said. Cherokee tail light modification. Unlike Comanche tail lights, the Cherokee replacements should be available for quite some time.
  15. I totally agree Eagle. The intent is to avoid lift. The only reason I introduced the Jp tire/lift chart was to verify one possible reason why so much confusion exists on 31" tire fitment. Thanks for sharing Ed Stevens interesting test results. Perhaps this thread will alleviate misconceptions about what will work for future members. I've searched this topic and it appears that this is a reoccurring theme.
  16. Welcome aboard. Always good to see another project in the works.
  17. Sure thing Oyaji. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/wheels-tires/154-0512-jeep-lift-tire-fitment-charts/
  18. Did you get your tires? If so, how about some input and pics?
  19. Jp link WJ LCA alternative  33s? http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-control-arms-custom-for-stock-wheels-pair.html
  20. Hey Kid, there is an incredible amount of confusion on this topic. Jp magazine published a lift/tire fitment chart that presents data which conflicts with what has been established here. I attempted but was unable to copy it to this thread. Perhaps a tech savvy member can accomplish the task? At any rate, the combined real world experience of our contributors is contrary to the publication.
  21. Hummmm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Welcome Bud. . . . . . . . . Puffer :waving: :waving: :waving: :waving: :waving: :waving:
  22. Quite the discussion on 31s. Looks like the thread is having a little struggle staying on topic. 31s will fit without a lift but will rub LCA. More specifically, 1 - Rims must be factory width (7"), diameter (15"), and offset (5 1/4") 2 - Tire size = 31"x10.5" or less 3 - Lower Control Arms need replaced with WJ LCA, or equivalent, to prevent tire rub Is this an accurate observation?
  23. Standing ovation! :clapping: Very clean execution. I know from experience how easily that material can be damaged.
  24. Thanks Brother Bob! It is one of the truck's best assets.
