A marketing firm should hire this guy. :rotf:

Nice looking "girls", and plate on the xj. Enjoy your project.

Thank you very much guys. I don't know how many times I said that, but each time it's with genuine sincerity. To receive the appreciation of your peers who know the Comanche so well is truly rewarding. This is my first attempt at restoring any vehicle and it's been educational to say the least. Starting with a very solid platform and adhering closely to my original plan simplified the process. Compared to the majority of the projects here, I really didn't do much. A special thanks to those who replied, and prompted replies, during the process. Your inquiries were motivational and made it seem as though I was doing something interesting.

What Did Your Wife Do To Your Comanche Today?

My wife found pictures she had taken on her cell. The first is from the Bantam Heritage Festival, last year. It's the opening even event held in downtown Butler, PA, known as the "Street Invasion". Jeeps only. This picture is from this year's "Show and Shine" event at Bantam. -

POWERTANK - CO2 Air Systems PowerTank - Quadratec - Jeep Parts & Jeep Accessories From … Plus several other sources. My wife purchased ours at the Bantam event last year from a vendor. He operated an off road shop near Butler. As with most vendors at the shows, he offered a nice discount. -
It's probably connected to the government shutdown.

:hmm: I'm not sure. I think it would look much better but not sure I want to invest the time and energy. I figured the price was too good to pass on and it will provide a measure of security when we travel... when I get a key. It was a little crusty but cleaned up nicely with a lot of elbow grease. I had reservations about how it would obstruct my view while driving. That concern turned out to be a non-issue. The rear view is virtually unchanged. My plan is to only use the cap when needed, keeping it suspended over the truck in the garage. We'll see how that works out?

We went on a little road trip today and picked up a cap from xjman.

:rotf: :dunno: :rotf: :dunno: I don't know? I guess because I could. You don't miss a trick. Actually, I didn't even realize what the edit had done. I guess I'll have to weld a patch in the driver's fender. -

Breven52's 1987 Comanche Pioneer

Very nice truck. It has a somewhat familiar look to it..... You've shared the resto portion of your project, what mods are you considering? -
I know, I was joking. It's not a bumper, it's called a roll pan. It's fabricated from sheet metal and integrated into the bed for a seamless design. Again, check the link to my build thread for a more detailed description and several pictures of the actual construction. I agree that the rear is one of the truck's best attributes.

Thanks Jerry. I just wanted to keep the whole project as simple as possible. Re-doing the interior seemed to be the least expensive route and allowed my personal touch. However, I relinquished creative design to the upholstery shop. I'm sure you're familiar with the adage; it's hard to beat someone at their own game. Seemed best at the time. Their design looks nice, but now I have a very clear direction for the next build. It may involve doing it the hard way. We shall see.

Thanks buddy, isn't that what family (CC) is for? My project took way too long for different reasons than yours. I know you have exponentially more than enough life experience to know it will all work out. When I need cheered up, I look at your avatar. I love the head gear. :rotf: I too hope that some evening we can enjoy a mile high acoustic storm at the "Red Rock".

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm very grateful indeed. The camera can easily hide imperfections and the car shows sandwich the vehicles so closely, flaws can be lost. I know the location of every blemish. None the less, I'm pleased with the outcome of my first ever resto-mod. I must also give credit to my good friend, Bob Streets, who is a pro paint and body man.

Great news! Anxious to see finished product.

I admire your tenacity Alicia. Keep up the good work.

Yes, thank you. My memory was upside down, backwards, and discombobulated.

My 89' Eliminator originally had a protective decal of sorts on the rocker panels. I've been unable to find any information on them. For those of you unfamiliar with the design, it was kind of a diamond cross black lines to a fade on clear film, if I remember correctly. I've check my pictures and don't have a good example. I've been unable to find OEM replacements. I want to check with a company that does wraps but need an example for them. Anyone have a picture?
