  1. Get a grip brother! I know, the suspense is excruciating. Your post was timely, I was gonna ask how paint was progressing today but ya beat me to it. Enjoy the fumes. I see multiple dancing bananas in you future.
  2. That has got to be one of the nastiest engine bays I've ever seen.
  3. I have no doubt you will, especially at my snails pace. I retrieved my old hood from my out building to swap hardware, plus front fender inner liners are ready for the wife to clean up and armor all. She's a sweetheart.
  4.
  5. I needed to wire the cargo light so I could begin installing the headliner and interior panels. Next, new door seals were installed. My lovely assistant helped install the headliner, visors and panels around the doors. We also trimed for the new interior lights.
  6. Finally made some progress today. Unlike most builds here, this one has basically seen the majority of modifications and upgrades. The finishing details however seem to be taking forever. The process has been mock-up, undo, mock-up again, undo. So today the rear fender flares were put on for the last time. During deconstruction, many of the bolts on the mounting brackets sheared due to rusted threads. I had to cut off the old studs and weld new bolts onto the flare retainers, a little paint and good to go. My wife helped by cleaning and armoring-alling the flare liners. The plastic wheelhouse splash shields were still like new except for some discoloration. Rather than using screws, I enlarged the mounting holes to accommodate pop rivets. This detail necessitated pulling the rear wheels/tires. I believe I've done this wheel/tire exercise more on this build than I have on all the vehicles combined that I've owned. The color in this shot is the reflection of the red Comanche sitting next to it. In the back ground is the bracing for the roll pan.
  7. I'm anxious to see where you take this idea.
  8. I'd like to see sunshine myself. "Q" gave us freezing rain. Actually, I'm in no hurry to get her out in the mess. Sunshine is all she'll see. The interior is out anyway.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion. My wife suggested "Affliction", she say I have a serious condition. :rotf: I didn't like how low it sat originally, thus the 3" lift and 17" wheels, but to each his or her own. You're right about tire/fender coverage. The rears are flush. The front end of our rigs roll inward allowing a little tire protrusion. These wheels have a ton of back spacing.
  10. My wife added a few goodies. The National Luna freezer/frig slides out for easier access. The front 1/3 is the freezer and the rearward 2/3 is the refrigerator. It will keep a steak frozen rock solid ] The storage box behind the freezer/frig is also the wife's domain. It a customizable Pelican unit. And buttoned up. I'm suffering from "Spring Fever". Can't wait to get camping.
  11. I still have a few details on the exterior and then its time to move to the interior.
  12. :jump: Got 'em mounted on the truck! Post pics tomorrow.
  13. Not exciting stuff, but these are a few projects we've done to the 92 Eliminator. The windshield had a couple cracks that were starting to run, so the late model glass/trim were substituted. Replaced door stops. New cylinder assists. Suffered a highway universal joint failure and replaced u-joints and shaft with a Wood's unit. The previous owner used a step stool for entrance and egress. We added a removable step form convenience.
  14. This is the project I want to be devoting my attention to but I've commited my time and resources to finishing the 89 Eliminator first. Not so bad for a jy save? Shabby chic, no fabric, just foam.
  15. Oh, by the way...ordering tires today. Nothing fancy, just functional for the 2WD, BFG Long Trails.
  16. Just had my wife dig out the reciept. Purchased from CSL Offroad in March of 2012. $312.99 plus 129.99 shipping & handling for a total of $442.98. Now you know why I wish I had ordered three. As for the color, it's really close, probably faded from the abundance of Arizona sun. It's closer than appears in the picture.
  17. Thanks for the compliments Mr. Bob. I wonder why the company quit manufacturing these hoods? Perhaps they would consider another run if some ambitious individual could pool together enough requests to make it profitable for them. There certainly seems to be quite a bit of interest on this site not to mention the Cherokee guys. The header emblem is still an unresolved issue. I intended to replace the original with these. This is one of the things overlooked in paint prep. Can't compensate for the "p". :wall:
  18. This is where I started the day yesterday. And this is where I finished.
  19. The first show entered last summer was the PA All Breeds Jeep Show. Picked up a dust collector in the unlimited modified class, totally unexpected.
  20. The upper and lower control arm brackets were removed. After removing the upper brackets, I'm of the opinion that they provided a significant measure of structural integrity. So I'll be adding additional frame support before installing the Clayton 4-link long arm.
  21. Brake upgade.
  22. I replaced the factory original speakers with four Infinity's and replaced the carpet.
  23. Thanks Cody. Believe me, no one is more anxious than I am. All the little details take time. ASAP.
