  1. Damn.. haha Welcome back man, I've been fortunate enough to have your number and you've kept me up to date with your projects.
  2. It was in 97 that the 8.25 switched to 29 spline, making it close to D44 strength. Not worth it at all for a 27 spline.
  3. I've come to the conclusion that Jeep will never have another pickup. Not as long as it's owned by Chrysler. The reason the MJ ceased production is because it was cheaper to make the Dodge Dakota, has that truck EVER been good? There just isn't a big enough market for another Jeep pickup. Just another way to kill the legacy of Jeep, one independent suspension, front wheel drive soccer mom car at a time.
  4. @metrictonner: Bit much work for me, your probably right, nothing is wrong with my sensor, but I'm using trial and error at this point to track down my problems. Thanks for the info Reading 0 volts when the engine is off, key in, but about 14 when running. O2 heater? I think between the black wire and orange wire on the O2 sensor you should get an ohm reading and I forget what it is right now. No ohms reading means the O2 heater is shot inside the O2 sensor. Ok, so the heater is inside the O2 sensor. I'll test for ohms, thanks cruiser.

  6. I've gotten that with a few forum posts as well, it gives me a pop up that says "You do not have permission to view this" or something along those lines. Almost as if the topic was deleted, but the title remained in the forums.
  7. I have, as well as the CTS, these two sensors are my last hope to fixing my running rich and rough idle. Before you say it, I've gone through your tips, I'm also convinced my 4.0 doesn't leave open loop. O2, tps, iac, all that good stuff has been replaced, last options are these two sensors. I'm suspicious of the O2 sensor. Got 12 volts to the O2 heater? You know, it wouldn't surprise me if it was the O2, as this is the third one installed. (had a few lying around to test). All seemed to test OK, but I never tested the engine side of the harness to make sure it's sending/receiving. How would I use the volt meter to test it? Tolerances?

  10. Cruiser: Do you know for sure an HO MAT will work?
  11. That's an awesome coincidence. With the shape my MJ was in when I bought it, I wouldn't ever want to meet a PO, not even the one I bought it from, haha.
  12. Either a Braves fan who is also in the elite Nazi security force, or they like @$$...
  13. P/N unknown, but this is the article I pulled the chart from: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm The first 2 articles refer to the MAT and CTS.
  14. According to this, they are identical in how they read, but like I said, without the air duct, the MAT will read slower:
  15. These two sensors are very similar, same ohm resistance, thread pitch, almost as if they were the same sensor. My question is, because MAT sensors aren't produced anymore, could a CTS substitute it? It would probably reflect temp change slower because it doesn't have the air ducting built into the tip like the MAT does, but hey, it's better then getting stuck in an open loop. Renix era 4.0 What do you guys think?
  16. Really gotta think about this one... Cheap: VW Karmann Ghia, any year. You won't find one in the best of shape for under 2k, but these little things are awfully fun to drive! Prettiest: 50s Mercedes Benz 300SL. I'd hate to just be able to see it, but I'd be scared to touch it, let alone drive it. Money is no object: Icon A5. Deemed the closest thing to a flying car as we're gonna see for some time, it has retractable landing gear making it amphibious and land worthy, folding wings, pusher prop, car inspired instrument panel, all kinds of awesome stuff. It's like a car, boat and plane all in one! And it's ONLY $250,000!! I'm good with flying over traffic everyday and landing in the pond next to my work.
  17. http://gearheads.org/2017-jeep-jk-scrambler-truck-is-official/ I DON'T know if this is real, but it sure looks like it. Thoughts on a JKU Scrambler?
  18. Oh my... That under dash shot is almost as bad as mine! haha, gotta harness waiting to go in though... Why is it that people tear apart these trucks wiring, was it really that bad from the factory that people felt the need to wire it themselves?
  19. I know, but you two were talking about a locker before, or was that just a joke? Your making me hyperventilate, here.
  20. Wait... Jeeps came with lockers from the factory?! (other than rubys) What kind of actuation did they use back then?

    Good Grief!

I think I heard that someone was also able to hack a new cherokee and literally drive it remotely, with a driver inside unable to take control of the vehicle. That would mean the steering would have to be electronic, motors and push rods. Whats wrong with a good old fashioned gear box? I can't believe the POS even sold 206,000, let alone recall them.
  22. Like you said, no improvement in strength, but really nice if you have a 2in carrier or something. Nice find.
  23. I'm lookin at the leafs, and they are the same as mine, but a 44? I thought only the metric tons came with 44s?
  24. Some WJs DO have dana 44s, but avoid them, they are aluminum. (Why?) I see JKs in junkyards alot around here, all have Dana 44 rears, with discs, though I don't know if they are the same width as our stock axles.
  25. Oh my... Even the tires are reflective!
