  5. I think that you are talking about this? This is definitely a jeep speed build, unless you plan on running baja races this is prob overkill.
  6. If I were you I'd do any frame plating that you might need to do now, while the motor is more easily removable. It sure is going to be a beast.

  8. Here are some pics of my radius arm mounts so far. I mocked them up measured, tacked and now have the burned in. Figured that i would post some pics while I'm waiting for metal to cool. Now back to burning in the frame mounts.

    First meet and greet

Darren me and another friend have been talking about doing a Naches run. We would wheel all day, then head down to Packwood and party all night. There is a really fun karaoke bar in Packwood, and several hotels right next to it.
  13. That xj looks almost identical to my old one
  14. If it is anything like the 4.0 then there will be bolts on the bottom. Some will take a Frankenstein assembly of wibble-wobbles and extensions othere will require 1/8 turn at a time with a wrench. Best advice is to soak everything with PB blaster for a couple days.
  15. I talked to a girl that was totally into the fact that I have an MJ. She had one, now the has a lifted 98xj......... That was a first.

  19. You could get one really cheap at a u-pullit. That way you aren't dumping $80 to trouble shoot. Use a tester light at the pump before you buy anything.
  20. I went to christian school. Everyone is welcome here
  21. actually, what's pretty funny is your constant lack of ability to interpret the fact that I don't actively go make fun of other member's threads, because I'm actually NOT a jackass and some others here are. I'm here cause I like the trucks. we share that common fact. so, while he may not like my thread, and I may not like his, at least I'm not gonna go ahead and be a fool about it. maybe you should grow up a bit. ya think? i mean, it's a little amazing that you're what? in your 40's? ya should probably stop acting like a bully and start acting like an adult. I am actually 24, now let's quit crying and get back to discussing our discussions about our comanches!!! *Sigh* I was talking to the dinosaur who started this off-topic finger pointing part of the conversation. (wahoosteeler) I've really got no problems with you multipurposemj ok, good now I can sleep tonight :wavey: I can't. I can't take all this fighting!! :( :wall: HA!! MY MJ is better than YOUR MJ, so THERE!!!! I am so angry at you right now streetjeep!!!!!

    Welding help

If you treat a flux core bead like a stick bead you will do fine, Although fux core is much more difficult to weld thin steel. I know that I can make a very nice weld with flux core. I do have a bottle, but I need to track down the leak in my welder. We made darren's bumper 90% with flux core, the only thing that we did with a 220v was burning in the d-rings. If you have the money get a 220v mig, if not go with 110v, just don't do the soa with 110v. You can have that welded for a reasonable price AE under $100 at about any offroad shop. Tig is great if you are wealthy. look on Craigslist. I got my 110v mig for $50 and it works great!
