A couple months ago I transported a transmission for my Subi in the trunk of my mom's new car. The guy said that it was drained, he lied. I have cleaned all the oil out of the area under the carpet. I pulled the carpet out and scrubbed it with some chemical that I got from a cleaning supply company at least five times and rinsed it with a hose in the front yard. The carpet still stinks like gear oil. What can I do to get rid of the smell?

$500 doesn't seem unreasonable. However I am a cheapskate at heart :peek: I would try talking him down. If it were me I would fix up the xj. Too much work if your mj runs fine.

try bypassing the ballast resister, I know that they can do some screwy things when they go out, and they're cheap. Other then that I would start going through your sensors one by one.

Have you changed tips? Running the 035 through the 030 tip could have fubared the tip. I would try using lincoln tips. I run lincoln 035 flux core with lincoln 035 tips with no issues. It seems like it would take a lot of force to smash the wire.

I am plating the outside and underside of my unibody where the steering box bolts up, and also a ways past the trackbar mount (I am using the rough stuff weld on out board model). I am also going to make a plate to go on the inside of the unibody under the steering box, I am not welding that on at the moment. I am planning on having lots of 1/2" plug welds, especially around the trackbar mount. Will 1/8" plate work? Darren says that I should put my mj cab on a f/s bronco frame :doh:

I figgured that we all talk about our MJ's alot. I thought that we need a thread to discuss discussions about our jeeps. Today I discussed gusseting on goblazers' bumper mounts with my boss. He said that my idea was really good. :D

we are adding a piece of flat stock to the nutsert above the shackle mount. Then we will cut a piece of the 2x4 at a 45 and ad it as a gusset on the ouside of the main frame mount. We are also atting a support from the quarter guard to the frame mount.

Today was a productive mj day. I figured out that I will have to run a 5/8 bolt to compensate for misalignment spacers on the drag link, so I got new grade 8 hardware, I also had to get new radius arms because the ones that I got with the axle had bad treads. So, I got both radius arms assembled on the axle, then I cut off the LCA mounts and got my radius arm mounts tacked up. Got my tierod installed. Drank beer

Woke up from a nap and thought about it.

Darren called me and woke me up from a wet dream I was having about my MJ :grrrr:

Built my tierod, 3/4" heims and 1 1/2" 1/4 wall dom. Got one of my radius arms on realized that the two original arms that I bought had stripped bolt holes. So off to u-pull-it tomorrow.

I walked by go blazers jeep going into his house. Then I looked at it while I puffed on a cancer stick. Then I walked by it on my way back to my car.

still haven't looked at it yet today. although i get my heims in today :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:
