  1. IIRC the LSd in the 8.25 is a clutch type and not a viscous LSD....IE no need for the friction modifier.......
  2. ya the ones that get me are the bench seat/bucket/97+ bucket threads
  3. I sold the last one with 3.73s and LSD for $300. I have no idea what you mean about the door panels. they were manual, and tan.
  4. 92500, but pretty soon that won't mean anything really.
  5. The 96 and 97 gas tanks are not interchangeable.
  6. I think the two exhaust thing happened in 2001, iirc.
  7. Picked up two heated leather seats from a 98 grand cherokee for $25. I got a pass fender from a 98(for a spare to have around) and drivers side from a 96(to hack up for my 2500 headlights) for $50(not as great of a deal, they charged me for the plastic splash guard, which the only reason it was still there was that I couldn't easily get it off without taking off those 10mm nuts, one of which already snapped off. Also got two ford 8.8 axles, both with disks and limited slip, one with 3.73s and the other with 4.10s for a total of $130. Craigslist here I come!
  8. I don't know, you would figure that since there are so many 29 spline 8.25's floating around for almost free that you would never have to settle for a 27 spline.
  9. yup, even if you only get a 27 spline now you can always find a 29 spline complete axle later(and just take the spider gear and axles), there are lots of people who ditch em in favor of something else so they can be had pretty cheap.
  10. 96 is the first year of OBDII. Nothing about the 96 dash or ECU is compatible with the 97+ dash ecu wiring etc, completely different. If your going to do this you really need a complete donor. enough sensors and connections are different on the 96 engine that you won't really be able to use the 97+ wiring........96 longblock with everything else 97+ sure, but little things like the AC pressure sensors etc will be different.
  11. Its a 96-98 ZJ steering column and airbag.
  12. the 8.25 is a very under rated axle.....go for it.
  13. nice volvo got anymore pics?
  14. watching the movie "war inc" a Comanche loaded down with irqastanies drives but while being shot at by a helicopter. Looked good, had a factory roll bar.
  15. What compression ratio are you running?
  16. Sorry, I've wanted to use that for a long time. :D Keep up the great work on the project. Did anyone else read that in christopher walkens voice?
  17. Good, and you should like this update: (you do know I have a build thread on naxja too right?) Worked on fitting the 2500 fenders and headlights: Yep, I saw it over there. I've been spending more time over here lately.. kinda burned out on XJ's due to all the 2500 stuff and figured I'd work on the MJ for a stint... you know because it's so different! ;) I even saw your thread on an Aussie site I was getting some 2.5TD parts from. Never got why they didn't get MJ's down there. Ya who knows....... Which reminds me....I should post some updates down under.

  19. Ya I had to do the same on mine, I moved the axle about 1 inch further forward, luckily my engine then cleared the firewall with only minor modifications.
  20. damm
  21. hard to tell whats messed up where. The camera distortion makes the front bumper look like its smiling.
  22. Old part of engine mount bracket cut off, new piece of angle iron tacked on. Tacked all the way around: I may not be the best welder, but, well........I may not be the best welder. Look ma, no hands! Drivers side mount under compression: So theres that, got the engine mounts done and the engine in place, I need to modify the transmount to bolt now, and then I will need to clearance the rear floor to get the transfer case in place. Plenty of stuff to be done.
  23. Nope, it is a stock 97+ passenger side dash end. All part of my extra dash. huh, ok, guess the angle made it look like a TJ piece.
  24. Let me guess, to get the engine to clear the front axle you had to shift it back to the point you needed to cut away on the firewall?
