install jack stands under it for three months! :headpop:

Ok well I forgot to order the pitman arm for my jeep when I was ordering all the other parts. After getting the suspension hooked up and the adjustable track bar with track bar drop bracket into place. I thought what the heck lets just hook the drag link to the pitman arm. And they look pretty parallel to me. So don’t flame on me guys but do I really need a drop pitman arm. I know they make them for some reason. I’m assuming if I don’t get one I won’t be able to align it properly.

BREEZE1 replied to BREEZE1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah thats what it looks like but I'm not sure. ill try it when i get home tonight. i have a few M6 set screws. -
17mm socket (or what ever is smaller than what you have), a pull bar, and a B.F.H. and she will be off like a prom dress! (I use to know some boys that stole wheels and they use this trick on the locking lug nuts.)

Guys I have been looking all over for this bleeder screw. It didn’t come with my slave cylinder but if you look at the picture of this one it goes into the bottom. I have gone to all the auto part stores and even the jeep stealership and they couldn’t find it. there ant many junkyards that have jeeps around here because every body that does rock crawling buys them up. And when you need to go to there shop to get some parts of course there gone to a competition. Does anybody have a clue of what it is or where I can order one.

I haven’t had to fill up my Comanche sense I installed the floor jacks under it. But my stang gets around 23 MPG, that’s if you don’t have fun when your driving it. people automatically think it gets terrible gas mileage because it’s a V8, but there good if your light on the skinny peddle. My specks 23mpg, 4.6L, T-5, 8.8 3:55 gears on 295/35/18. I do however have to fill it up three two or times a week, I drive 38 miles one way to work!!! THAT SUCKS! :hateputers:

You know I was seriously considering doing a 5.0 swap in my mj, but then i sobered up and thought what the hell for the money I would have tied up in a V8 I could have a scream’n 4.0L. There would be a lot less hassle!! I was looking for sites were someone did do the conversion. So its cool you found this one. I will still read up on it! :chillin:

$125 MJ - Project 99 Cheromanche

son you got a lot of hard work tied up in this thing. looking good keep it up!! -
Thanks for posting that for me. I don’t know what’s up with it not working for me. You know I haven’t heard much about Iron Rock. I was looking around one day and come across there site. Every thing looked pretty clean and simple. And that’s what I was looking for. I really didn’t want to get into swapping out the tranny support and all that jazz. Originally I planed on making my own aluminum long arms but after much contemplation I decided it wouldn’t be much more to just order some. And heck it would be a lot quicker. Well I was wrong about the quicker part, but that’s ok. This kit may not have “show truck flex” like every one wants to have but I think ill be satisfied. As for the build quality a lot of it looks really nice but on the control arms they could cut the ends of the tubes better. From a manufactures stand point they can cut them easy and are still functional. But from a customers stand point you always want nice clean cuts with a perfect roll of dimes (tig of course). And that always shoots the price ski high. But for what it is and what it’s to be used for I don’t see anything wrong with them. I’m pretty excited to see how they perform. I hope they have a smooth ride with the Johnny joint on the frame rail. I once had a rock krawler lift on a WJ and it was piss poor. With there little special junk joints I was able to feel every little bump in the road. I hate to say it but I didn’t even consider them this time. I have heard that they have re-designed there joints but still i get pissed when I think about it. Also there damn springs made my wj sit up like 2 inches more in the front. No offence to anyone who has there stuff. I'm sure they have come along way sense then. By the way I was getting on here tonight to read your write up about the hood vents. :D

Good news, my front end suspension components came in yesterday. Now we can finally get the ball rolling!! well crap i can't get this thing to show my pictures i have on photobucket!! what do yall use?? you can copy it and past it into your address box, but thats crap!

B@$!^# I’m eat up with jealousy!!! I just saw that you are running the baja finders like I'm going to do. Man that mj looks sexy!! I'm glad to see someone else had my same idea, instead of cutting the original finders up. Keep up the good work. Your truck is going to be a beast when you get long arms!!
-
Well I'm still waiting on my front suspension. I ordered it two weeks ago. I called last Friday to get a tracking number and they told me that my control arms were at the powder coater, and that they would ship out on Monday. So hopefully ill get them tomorrow and ill be able to get something done this weekend! Below is a funny pic, something about it says Speedy Gonzales !! Ha Ha :chillin:

I didnt get too much work done on the jeep this weekend. but i am happy with what i did get done. i cleaned the snot out of the rear frame and painted it.
-
do you want to make $50 bucks$$$ ill take it off hands if you want me to!!!
-
Well I have finally decided to go ahead and order my springs, shocks, track bar, and control arms. I was really wanting to do my own long arms but with the amount of time you have in them and material its worth an extra hundred bucks just to order some. Plus you know what your getting is tried and true. At least I hope so. Hopefully I will get a lot of cleaning up done on the back of the jeep this weekend. I wanted to get some work done on it tonight but I had to put that aside and spend time with my old lady. Sometimes you have to do stuff like that, even though you don’t want to. :D
