  1. It sat on the back burner until I had the Eliminator drivable. That is, until I came across a smoking deal on a '98 Cherokee that slid off the road and smacked into a tree backwards a couple days before Christmas. The same time I found it, I also found a deal on some nice polished Moabs. CRUNCH!!!!
  2. Well ladies and gentlemen, here we go again. Since I started working on the Eliminator a couple years ago, my oldest son has been snooping, spying, and generally hanging around drooling at it. Hes 13 and since he will be driving in a few years, I've spent the last year or so asking him what he would like to drive. Naturally, he's dead set on an MJ (I trained him right). So we went on the hunt a while back and came across this little gem on craigslist sitting in some guys pasture... A 1987 Comanche 2.5/stick/2WD The owner showed me a level of cool I wasnt aware of. He dragged a chair from out of nowhere and had a seat It's sporting the awesome pale blue interior and the limited edition rats nest in the glove box. A killer guard heifer I looked it over and found minimal rust. Floor seems in decent condition and nothing but surface rust on the body. It has a couple dented spots that will need some work (cab corner, bed corner) but nothing that will be insurmountable.
  3. Meow.......what he said ;)
  4. Thanks a ton Brett. That's exactly what I was thinking. I guess I really should sit down and try to learn Photoshop huh? And thank you Ryan for the source material!
  5. JCR winch bumper
  6. Can any of you guys help satisfy my curiosity and chop me up a photo of an MJ wearing the mango tango paint? Or point me to one that is painted in it. Stock Jeep is fine, but one with a 97+ nose job would be more accurate to what's in my head. Thanks!
  7. That's great, but I only have one brain cell left. Honestly, I know they're easy to make. But I really don't have the time nor do I have the interest to build one.
  8. I'm sincerely flattered.... Seriously, the truck looks great....very droolworthy. And 22 hours is a fair price to pay to get it back to Lubbock! Can't wait to see more progress and the wilderness camper. A few of us are scattered across the state. Maybe we could organize a pow wow somewhere fairly equidistant to us all for a few days of wheeling and camping.
  9. Was this the MJ that was for sale on Craigslist a while back?
  10. I was looking at the painless harness, but at $130 I'm kind of balking at it. The putco one posted earlier is a more friendly price. My concern on it is quality. I'm not interested in some Chinese knock off that I'll have to replace anyway.
  11. Don, which HD harness did you get for the Hellas?
  12. Nice truck. Where in Texas are you located?
  13. This truck is looking great! Congratulations on a job well done so far. Wow
  14. Have you considered the Dakota tank and pump?
  15. I don't remember the part number off hand. Its very possible I'm wrong and they're not 19lb/hr. After running them for the last couple months, I can tell you the engine runs smoother. I'm also getting marginally better fuel mileage as well as a tad more power. The motor just feels like its a little more awake than before. I'll do some research later today and try to find some data on the ones I got and get back to you. By the way, your bedliner is exactly how I want to do mine. It looks great! I've put it off because I had a rollbar in the bed when I got the truck and I want to patch/repair the mounting holes before I have one sprayed in. I've still got some leftover scraps from the floorpans that I plan to use. I've just been too busy enjoying the MJ!
  16. No real updates. I've been busy, and with the holidays I've been broke! However I got off work the other day and saw this on the dash when I looked down. The chassis has about 140K miles on it. The donor obviously has 230K. The check engine light keeps coming on due to a "massive emissions leak" from the gas cap/gas tank. After Christmas, I think I'm putting in the 22 gallon Dakota tank and pump and redo the tubing and hoses to get rid of that annoying check engine light.
  17. Saw this when I got off work the other day. The check engine light is from an emmisions leak (gas cap).
  18. Thanks for showing this. It will be my next project for a lazy day!
  19. Kevin, I "think" I have one in the barn. Its from an '86 4cyl auto. I'll be down on the property Monday if you can wait for me to verify its what you're looking for.
  20. Jeeez, I feel old now! Thanks a lot! First pager was in '95 or so when I was in college. First cell phone was a year or two later.
  21. I wouldn't have. I've been broken into and robbed before. A theif is the absolute worst of the worst. They aren't human to me. And here's my ADT sign....
  22. I'm running a 6.5 inch long arm kit with bilstein shocks. I have the 5100s in the front and 5125s in the rear. Don't remember the exact valving numbers but I do remember I made it a point to have lower valving in the rear than the front. After driving it both on and off road, I'm very impressed with the ride in both situations.
  23. If I recall, "JACKED88" lives in Katy as well.
  24. +1 on the general grabbers. I had them on my Cherokee and they performed well and lasted a long time.
