Engine bay retractable light

My 1980 Spirit AMX has a underhood light. I'll have to look at it and see if I can figure out what activates it. -
Replacement Side Mirror Bracket
garyweb3 replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've also used a pair of Dzimms mirror brackets with no problems. -
It does but it didn't explain the voltages that I should get like you did. It doesn't specify that 5v will be seen at the full range of movement of the throttle. I thought that measurement was what the ECM see's to varify the throttle position.
-
Thanks for the information. It's much clearer and makes more sense than the TBI manual.
-
Since that does vary the TPS should be good?
-
Ok but why doesn't it vary at all? It's 5v at closed throttle and open throttle no change from one or the other. How will the ECM know what position the throttle is?

1987 Comanche w/2.5L.

I have the TPS removed and testing it like that. Manually moving the lever.

According to the TBI manual the voltage reading at terminals B and C should be 5v at WOT. It doesn't say what it should read with the throttle closed but I assume less than 5v. My TPS doesn't vary at all always reads 5v no matter the position of the throttle. This is a new TPS because the previous one read the same as this one, no difference always 5v and I was advised it was bad. This doesn't sound right because how does the ECM know how far the throttle is open. Also checked between terminals A and B and read 4.85v at WOT. That does vary when the throttle is opened even if it's higher than the manual specifies max of 4.6-4.7v. What could be wrong?

Rough country steering stabilizer.

The service manual calls for 55 ft lbs at the axle bracket and 35 ft lbs at the center link. -

What do they call it?

Thanks guys.

While I have the ps pump disconnected from my 87 Comanche w/2.5L for some other maintenance I want to repaint the pulley. I'm not exactly sure how to get it off. If I remember correctly I replaced the pump about 20 years ago and I wouldn't think it would have come with the pulley. The TSM lists a part number for a puller and a installer tool. Anybody know what they look like if that is what is needed to remove the pulley?
-
Thanks. I just did.

That is the only gasket that comes up at either NAPA or RA.

I planned on replacing my intake gasket on my 1987 Comanche w/2.5L engine. The first one I purchased has a foil surface on both sides. When I removed the manifolds I found a crack about 2/3's of the way around the exhaust manifold. I purchased a new replacement which came with a new combo manifold gasket. One side has the foil surface and the other side has a typical paper look. Which one is better if there is any difference and which surface goes toward the head?
-
How would i go about having that done?
-
To tell the truth I'm just guessing here. About 3 years ago I started having a bogging problem occasionally when starting to accelerate. It would go away when I shifted to 2nd. It got worse over the years and now doesn't want to idle. Starts good but I have to play with the gas to keep it running but after about a minute it quits. Starts right back up but keeps doing the same thing. I thought it wasn't getting enough fuel so I changed the pump and filter which made no difference. I'm in the process of replacing manifold gasket so I haven't been able to see if that made any difference or not. I did clean the IAT sensor too.
-
I cannot find the IAT at any parts sellers and the ISA at NAPA or RA don't look like the one I have.
-
What are the correct names or terms for these devices. The small one is on the intake manifold and the larger one is on the throttle body. 1987 Comanche 2.5L. Thanks.

Shoot you're a day late. I just ordered all the parts from Boxy Jeep that I'll need to build a complete cluster. The only gauge they didn't have was a fuel gauge for a full cluster. You wouldn't have one would you?
