  1. I'll give you 6 if you let me stay over night before driving her back to jersey.
  2. I've never worked on a nss before, what goes into cleaning one out? also, do I need to drop the pan? I was just on rock auto and they show 2, 1 for an AW4 for almost 200 and the other for a 3 speed trans for 8 bucks. does this seem correct?
  3. I have an opportunity to pick up an fairly good condition 94 Cherokee 4x2. needs a neutral safety switch. how hard are they to change out? how involved for a shade tree mech?
  4. so, can I remove the cable w/o any issues? what does said cable do?
  5. so it's shifter related and not the ignition?
  6. when I turn the truck off, the key only returns to the position just before the off position. it has done it intermitantly but it's now doing it more and more. at first if I restarted the engine and cycled the floor shifter, then turned it off, it would work but that's working less and less. is the problem in the shifter linkage or the column?
  7. only a shade tree guy here but if it's a no start and no dash lights, it's either a common ground or you have 2 separate problems. have you tried hitting the starter with a hammer?
  8. but how hard is it to replace that brake line? or should I just take her to a brake shop? they should have the nutsert thingy and the line but how much labor time????????? don't wana spend a deuce or so for a lousy brake line. the thing that makes it double hard for me is that I have partial amputations on BOTH thumbs. hard to work in tight places with small fittings.
  9. yes the nutsert came loose. how did u tackle that?
  10. guys, I put brakes on the manche today including calipers and hoses. I rounded the DRIVERS side nut on the hard line where it connects to the hydraulic line. I even used a flare wrench. now I have everything new except this ratty hose and I can't get it undone from the hard line. what's my options? is there enough room to get a wrench under the fitting block where it leads into the mc or will I have to remove everything to gain access from the top. don't know if I can get my hands up in there from the bottom cause of the front shaft. is there a plug and play brake line for the system or will I have to bend myself?
  11. check to make sure all wires are tight. mine did the same thing and it was a loose ground. get it bench tested too.
  12. Arizona parts pn# 52003040. exhaust down pipe support bracket. google Arizona parts and they will be listed NOS MOPAR parts. this place only takes check or money orders, no card transactions or paypal so the turn around time is a couple weeks. part was 20 bucks and 10 shipping to jersey. you will need to drop the down pipe in order to get it on but well worth it.
  13. ahh, all done. no more banging on the cross member. thanks for the help fellas.
  14. well, I'm right in the middle of installing that exhaust down pipe support bracket. kind of a pita by yourself cause I have to drop the down pipe to get the bracket in place. now to bolt up the down pipe back to the mani. just had to clear the dirt out of my eyes. lol
  15. I think if I remember correctly, there is a vacume line that connects to a bladder under the front bumper. check the lines. some of the more knowledgeable guys will chime in shortly I'm sure.
  16. well, I have the truck saved with rock auto and I'm guessing that if they say it will fit, that it will.
  17. I am going to get the pre loaded calipers. does it mater which ones or will they all fit both designs?
  18. guys, I want to do all new front brakes on my 87 4x4 2.5. I'm shopping rock auto and I see 2 options. 1 has hub and 1 doesn't and is listed as (first design) which am I looking for?
  19. are you sure your not talking about the exhaust mani bolts which are prone to breaking off? it was a common problem, at least on the 2.5's. there was a torque change/recall fix for the outer manifold mounting bolts for mj's due to the bolt heads breaking off. I've had a few beers but I think I have this right.
  20. I just put a new system on my 87 2.5 from rock auto for less than 200 from the mani all the way back including cat.
  21. so, if I'm reading between the lines right in this thread, if our fuel pumps go, we're kind of screwed. hard to believe there nla.
  22. new moog links in. shimmy all gone. nice and smooth again. drivers side was sheared right off.
  23. my 87 2.5 has NO gasket and bolts, not studs.
