I found a couple on fleabay but they are pricy. 75 and up? wtf? also, the ones I found do NOT have the opening for the vacuum return at the rear of the cover, only the fill cap and the line that runs to the intake. would it be compatible and what would I do with my existing vacuum line? just plug it up and if so, would it affect performance?

what the hell would crack the valve cove? about a 2" hair line crack one the side near the top by the rear vacuum line fitting. grrr. oil leaking right through.

that's just the symtems mine showed. pretty sure I could be the lack of the down pipe support bracket. part is on order. the exhaust is hitting the cross member from time to time.

exact same problem with my 87 2.5. have bought 2 new oil filler caps and there both loose side to side as the op's. I'm also getting oil seepage from both the lines to the intake and the tb and I have replaced those grommets as well.

I'd love to see what ozzie has in his locker.

I'm looking for the down pipe exhaust support bracket for my 87 2.5. original part #52003040. a parts supplier has them for 28 shipped but only takes checks. I'm looking for a faster turn around time so if one of you guys has a used one, please pm me. there is pics in the 2 exhaust threads in the tech section.

fabing one is a little out of my league and to be honest, I really don't know anyone that wouldn't want an arm and a leg.

is there another vendor for this bracket? Arizona only deals with check or money order and I am looking for a little faster service.

there are 2 different illustrations in this thread. post #5 and post #17. 1 has the bracket listed as #9 and the other #14. if you look real close, they do look to have the u facing different ways.

mine also looks like a frown.

so, if I buy the part listed from Arizona parts, will it be the whole assembly? I talked the the guy there and he don't know either. just that they have it for 20 bucks.

ok, I'm getting close. I was looking at something entirely different. I was looking on the frame rail there is a bracket with a strap attached to it and thought that was it. I now see the half moon hole where the bracket goes in. so I need everything from the half moon hole rearward. will the part 52003040 from Arizona parts come with everything I need? there is no available pic to show whats included.

i'll try to get a pic but photo bucket is not letting me copy links. that's a whole other story. grrrr

but how does that bracket connect to the exhaust?

#19 is rearward from the cat, the mount I am looking for a pic of is forward of the cat. #9 on the diagram on my truck has a rubber strap/belt looking piece connected to it.

what does the rest of this assembly look like? how does part #52003040 connect to the down pipe?

ok, but I can't see a pic of the rubber strap. does anyone have an actual photograph of the setup? the bracket is there with a strap coming off of it but nothing on the end of the strap. like it's bin cut.
