  1. guys, my 87 2.5 manche has 2 hanger locations. one near the tail pipe and another further forward of the same design. question is, there is a bracket bolted up underneath with a piece of rubber like strapping connected to it. looks like some kind of a hanger assembly and looks incomplete. I just put a new system on and there are no mounting points for this other strapping point. is this an exhaust hanger? my system does hit the cross member from time to time while driving. I will be doing both engine and trans mounts soon but they don't seem to be to the point where the pipe should contact the cross member.
  2. I thought he ment watch out for the shroud while jacking up the engine.
  3. do I have to jack the motor up that far that the fan will break the shroud?
  4. from what I've read, the engine mount replacement is pretty simple. put truck on stands, jack up engine from oil pan using a block of wood, the remove and replace. is this proper procedure? is the trans mount procedure basically the same? any tricks or things to watch out for while doing these?
  5. guys, I wana put new mounts on the engine and trans. truck is a 87 2.5 4x4 with an AW4. I found what seem to be a quality engine and trans mount in the anchor company from rock auto. can you guys please chime in on wether or not the anchor mounts are a quality product.
  6. ok, I was looking in the front for leaks. so I guess my first thing to look for would be a weeping wheel cylinder. correct?
  7. I have a slow leak in the forward m/c reservoir. there is nothing leaking down the inside of any of the tires. which system, front or rear, does the front part of the m/c control?

  11. guys, I recently put an entire exhaust on my 87 2.5. I bought a gasket from rock auto listed in the exhaust gaskets/seals drop down and it is listed as packing. it is felpro #60836. can anyone tell me where this goes?
  12. not to thread jack but, is there a gasket that goes to the union of the down pipe and the exhaust pipe? if so, does anyone have a pic or a pn?
  13. merry Christmas guys, even though mine is down with starter problems.
  14. if you mean a traditional jump start, yes. I have not tried jumping directly to the starter cause I can't get my hand up in there to get the rubber boot off. 45 degrees tomorrow. i'll wait till then. all wires are tight.
  15. there's a rubber boot on the top terminal on the starter. not much room from underneath, can't get my hand in there to pull the boot off. looks like i'll have to remove the oil filter. what would be the chance of the problem being the starter relay? could it be bad and the starter still click when trying to start her? or would the starter not make any sound?
  16. not the terminals. there both good.
  17. I have no doubt that I can do it as I work on all my rides. my 86 bimmer has almost 400,000 on the clock. it's just my first manche starter and looking for the unexpected heads ups from you guys.

  21. what size hex? as I will probably need to pick one up.
  22. gona try givin it a wack tomorrow. if I have to change it out on the road, do I need standard or metric? how many wires are there 2 or 3? and on the 87 2.5 will I be able to r and r w/o removing any cross members or any other structural items?
  23. my 87 2.5 won't start. plenty of juice but the starter just clicks once then nothing. truck is in a parking lot, grrrr. I have no electrical testing tools or abilities.
