  1. I'm way over my head mechanically, but I can echo that. Once Heim joints break in, they're loud and loose.
  2. I like it, but it would have been really cool if they made like a Chevy El Camino style bed on it.
  3. Discount! Same truck $5500 https://offerup.com/item/detail/614348160/
  4. If you're going to answer, wait 6 seconds before you say a word. Most robo calls drop after 5 seconds. I dropped my landline when phone numbers became portable and hung the number as a second line to my cell service. My personal phone protocol is; don't answer unknown, or blocked number calls and return missed calls to known numbers. I only give my cell number to people I actually want to talk with and everyone else gets the old landline number.
  5. I used a heat gun, then Harley's leather care on the side moldings on my XJ. They look new and have held up to New England winters.
  6. Trust me, you're not alone.
  7. The one where you buy NOS caps and take a pic. Those are remarkable results!
  8. A 12'x12' EZ-Up is about 1/3 the price and far more useful. Plus you can still move your buggy.
  9. I appreciate all the tech support! Picked up the XJ this evening after having the MetalCloak control arms installed. Mystery solved. It was indeed the heim joints. The Cherokee rides "Cadillac Quiet" through spring frost heaves and pot holes. Thanks you guys Tim
  10. Ha! You can't make this stuff up. eBay encrypts the username for bidders. Look who the winner was! m***j(701) $585.00 10 Apr 2019 at 1:16:11PM PDT /\/\/\ Seems fitting that MJ won!
  11. Appreciate the reply. I cross-posted to the MJ tech forum and got a lot more traffic. Check out "Mystery Clunk" please help. You're on the mark though. I'm actually having MetalCloak upper and lower control arms installed today. The clunk was coming from the heim joints on the Rough Country junk installed last year.
  12. Yeah, that's unicorn stuff. Complete with caps, hardware and brackets. If it were chrome, I'd be "in", but I bought the same thing not too long ago.
  13. saveevryjp1998 has a supply of them. I was looking for replacements not too long ago and he came through!
  14. I'll third Krustyballer for the hitch. I've read nothing but good things. Draw-tite made a receiver hitch specifically for the MJ and its stock bumper, but both are hard to find. If your stock bumper is rust free DO NOT put a ball on it. I have 255/70/16's (30.6") on MOAB wheels with no lift and no issues. I should add … with exception of your 5 speed and no AC, our trucks are twins.
  15. "Welcome to the addiction". LOL
  16. Awesome! Reminds me of my old matchbox collection (which is as near as I'll ever get to that group). What did that lone XJ in the back do to be outcast?

  18. You might take the number off the top of this can to a decent auto supply/paint shop. You're looking at a 25+ year old color/code. There's a parts place local to me that has a good paint shop. They matched my '01 XJ's paint perfectly. Another shot of this can from the other thread reads "for plastic and vinyl", so it should do the trick.
  19. This is a good link for the info you need. https://comancheclub.com/topic/56048-gray-interior-color-code/?tab=comments#comment-573509
  20. Now there's a bargain …
  21. I'll pile on. First, it's a true survivor and you're fortunate to have it (albeit sorrowing how you got it). I would also echo Minuit in that, I would never buy an non-AC vehicle. I live in the northeast where it's only really necessary three months out of the year. Still, it's essential. You can ask whatever you want, but plan to keep it for a while at $8K. However, there's an a$$ for every seat, so who knows? I'm sure you could get $5000-5500 fairly quickly and if it were mine, I wouldn't take less.
  22. Not surprising that someone is trying to flip it, but that's a big ask even with the floor replaced. Looked like a decent deal for $1500.
  23. Ha! I'd like to do that at this point, but I will get full refund and they pay return shipping.
