  1. Next time you’re in this part of the world, you’ll need to let us know. I’m sure I’m not the only CC member that would like to meet up with you. And depending on the economy, who knows probably even buy you a beer.
  2. I like this site for many reasons; the people, the advice, and shared interest in MJ’s. But for my “similar story”; I commented on someone’s awesome front bumper and jokingly asked if they would make me one. He replied and said he would if I cover the supply cost. Never met this person, never did anything for him, he’s just the type of person who you find on this forum. I purposely withheld is name as I don’t want the rest of you to get in on the action before I get my new bumper! And yes, I’ll be repaying the favor to another CC member.
  3. Nice MJ, welcome
  4. How much does a can of that roll on bedliner stuff weigh? Don't know, also don't know how many of those cans he used.
  5. Looks alot better than what i would have thought. How much weight did it add?
  6. For some reason that photo doesn’t look real to me. Maybe it’s because there are cars still parked so close to “it” or because there isn’t a group of people around it staring and pointing…
  7. The only thing goofy about these photos is the reason why you picked the color purple…? :huh???:
  8. I couldn't count how many times my wife has ruined back county trips. I feel your pain! :grrrr:
  9. That’s bold, hope you won’t regret it later. I know I probably would.
  10. Seriously? Let me know what you need and I’ll pick up the materials and booze (if you’re a drinker). If you want, PM me and we can trade contact info… Definitely stay in touch!
  11. Very nice! Will you make me one...? :D
  12. That turned out nice!
  13. She looks like a beauty. Ok, how much did ya pay for it?
  14. Sorry to hear about your loss. Saying goodbye is the worst part, but you’ll always have the fond memories.
  15. You're probably asking the wrong person (me): We went down to Home Depot and spent less than $160 on a no name brand. It's been sitting outside (in the Pacific NW) on my deck, uncovered for the past 10 years and it still has a pretty even burn with minimal rust. Every Spring I turn it on for a few minutes and burn out all the insects and it's already to go...
  16. :agree: ...did it
  17. If I needed a deliver rig, I’d be tempted to buy it.
  18. So you’re looking for photos of SB MJ’s with canopies…? :dunno:

    a pic

:huh???: So you're not racing, but you go down there and “prerun” the 1,000 miles with a MJ…?
  20. Have you seen this truck? Aesthetically speaking, I believe the contrast of the tube bumpers compliment and quite possibly enhances the MJ box, thus creating the perfect balance of vehicular art. :clapping:
  21. There's your problem. The B/S is causing your wheels to stick too far out in the wheel wells. Best is 4.0 - 4.5 for our MJs. Thanks for your feedback. Now when I think about it; they do stick out past the fenders quite a bit even when the wheels are pointed straight Ok, so say I found a similar looking wheel with 4 or 4.5 backspacing, wouldn’t I then have possible clearance issues with the LCA’s? Or would it just be better to deal with the fender flares and not worry about chasing the problem around…?
  22. Are you running stock Jeep wheels? If not do you know the backspace of the wheels you do have? They’re American Racing, Outlaw wheels. At the time I bought them (20 yrs. ago) I didn’t even know what backspacing was. I just searched on-line and apparently the backspacing is 3 ¾.
  23. Where are your tires rubbing? Do you have a lift? The usual place where 30s or 31s rub is on the lower control arms at full steering lock, and that has nothing to do with the flares. You’re right; I guess more clarification is needed. When my wheels are compressed and turned either direction, the tires hit the front, bottom side of the fender flares. I don't have a lift but i did get some stiffer springs up front. I guess i'm fortunate that the tires don’t hit the LCA’s. But I hear that the stock LCA’s are another weak link, so that probably needs to be upgraded down the road.
  24. If I had to do it again, I would go with something like LineX, Rhino Liner or knock off brand. With all the rocks and road dare that hits the front bumper, it is hard to keep it covered.
  25. Nice MJ. I also really like your shop, wish I had that kind of uncluttered space.
