Reminds of of the time I was sent to pick up a new Vortec 454 3500HD dump truck for the landscaping company I worked for. Kid in a ricer was sitting next to me at the lights revving his engine, so when the lights changed I accelerated a bit faster than I normally would have. Next light he was doing it again, so I let him have it pedal to the floor. He got smoked by a dump truck! :banana:

The problem with a used tank is shipping. I don't know how much you are asking, but do not think that is the show stopper here. You can not easily legally ship a used gas tank without spending more money than it's worth. -
Transfer cases. 242 or 231?

A 241 and 242 are not the same. A 241 is basically a bigger stronger version of the 231. 242 is the one with the full time option. -

Secretary used her F250 4x4 powerstroke to attempt to tow the 24' box truck out of the dock when stuck on ice using a chain hooked to a safety chain loop on her class III hitch. Luckily the loop on the hitch broke before there was a lot of strain on the chain, so it didn't go flying too fast. -

My buckets have head rests. But being 6'5", they're more like neck rests. -
Removed cap (yesterday) Today removed tail gate, emptied christmas tree (to community compost pile) and recyclables (to boy scouts recycling bin) out of the bed, cargo strapped spare tire, tool box, jack and storage tote in front of bed and started packing her for a weekend off road.

I don't see any angles severe enough to cause binding. Maybe a seized U-joint in the drive shaft?

A 2" square class III receiver does not require a clevis or D shackle. Insert the strap into the receiver, and put the hitch pin through the loop in the end of the strap. -
Thanks for the info. I guess I don't have to worry too much if I break a shaft with the 33s as i should still be able to limp it home and spent the money that would pay for a new shaft towards a D44 or 8.8 instead. I should be running the 33s at Badlands in June. No more skinny small tires getting stuck between the rocks and busting bolt heads on the front diff cover. No more axles sitting on solid stuff while tires are not touching anything solid in the muddy ruts. And if that hole is still there in the mud flats, I need to redeem myself there as well. But this weekend the locker will get tested at Jeepskool with my current 235s.

I would love to have to mow my lawn. I woke up to 4 degrees Monday, 3 degrees Tuesday and 5 degrees this morning. I've about had it with winter.

Out of more than 15000 wheels on Summit's web site, more than 4000 have 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern, in 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 26" rim sizes. No 16.5" and no 19.5".

Did you clean the CCV orifice inside the valve cover when you had it off? Or is that Renix specific. Also the back edge of the Renix valve cover is difficult to line up without moving the gasket around, and the bolt back there is difficult to reach. HO may or may not have the same problems. I have never taken the valve cover off my 94 XJ as it doesn't leak anything anywhere.

I have a Renix MJ and a HO XJ. Both filters side by side are the exact same dimensions. But the Renix filter uses metric threads and the HO filter is 3/4x16 threads. The HO has a warning sticker about the threads and a Mopar part number for the filter, the Renix firewall has a sticker with a bar code and a bunch of numbers. -

Hang on to your old truck for a bit. You're used to a 4.0. If you do buy that 2.5 you're not going to like the lack of power, so you'll be swapping the 4.0 in. -

My bad. I thought you were talking about the headlight harness that runs behind the header panel and goes to all the bulbs. -

Not all harnesses are wired for fog lights. My original harness was, but my truck had fog lights. The replacement header panel off a 91(?) XJ did not have the wiring, so I kept the remains of my old harness. It was badly damaged by the deer that hit the truck before I bought it. My 94 XJ also does not have the fog light wiring in the harness. -
I have an 87, but it's a 4.0 litre. And it definitely has an NP231 as identified by the little plaque on the transfer case.

It also goes through the headlight switch. Fog lights will only work if head lights are on. -

Pulled it into the shop at work after work, changed oil, checked all fluids, checked and retorqued lug nuts, checked all other nuts, checked and adjusted tire pressure, greased all fittings and adjusted rear brakes. I then loaded up my tools and my Cragar Soft 8s UPS dropped off earlier to drive it home, where I removed the cap with help from a neighbour. Ready to go offroad at JeepSkool this weekend.

A Grand Wagoneer without the wood panelling just would not look right. I don't have a wheelbase problem towing as much as a weight problem. My trailer weighs 1200 pounds empty, and sometimes upwards of 4000 loaded, depending what I load it with. With the Suburban I had to check the rear view mirror to remind myself it was back there. it was only noticeable when heavily loaded. With both my Comanche and Cherokee I have to be careful on twisty roads because even empty it tries to push my rear end out of the turn. Last week I felt it go and only barely saved it by slamming it into 4wd as I floored the gas. Then slowed the heck down once I was through the turn with trailer straight behind me. It shouldn't be a problem. It only is because I'm used to a 6000 pound vehicle with 3500 pounds on the rear axle unloaded. Not a 3500 pound vehicle with less than 1000 pounds on the rear axle.

My daughter used to walk her rabbit on a leash. Until a neighbour's dog broke it's chain and mauled it. Had two rabbits killed by dogs and one of old age. We're done with rabbits. Now have a hamster and a dog. Possibly second dog later this year.

I use a laptop as I sit on the couch. Touch pad, 2 buttons. No mouse, no wheel, no 5 buttons. Right click and move to "open in new tab" is a pain.
