  1. Still could in 1980s Chevys. Just think of what went into that thing for restoration... No matter, it sure did pay off! ~Alex
  2. I've had both and I tell you what... I miss my LWB. I didn't care for a toolbox but it looked better and was more useful. The SWB looks good as well, and functions great off-road but is not very useful for carrying anything around... the roll bar doesn't help either though since it hogs half the bed as much as a toolbox would. The SWB would not look nearly as good lifted more then 3" with 31" tires as a LWB would IMHO though. Just my two cents. ~Alex
  3. *BUMP* There has to be some more Eliminators around here. ~Alex
  4. Hmm Maybe I saw something wrong then when I decoded mine but that doesn't even come close to how mine looked when it was decoded. The order is all off IIRC, I'd have to check again but it looks out of order. Maybe because mine is a '91? ~Alex
  5. Actually the Comanche is considered a package of the XJ line, the truck package. You'll notice this if you look at your registration (least it shows it here in Ohio I believe) or if you decode your VIN it will show it as being a Cherokee with the Comanche style body. Not much unlike any other truck that has been based on an suv, I think the Gladiators were considered truck body/package of the Wagoneers. :smart: And they do look pretty flat in the picture, could just be the lighting though. :dunno: ~Alex
  6. You could easily go have it clear coated I'm sure. Or if you have the setup you could buy auto paint and just spray it on. Just make sure you have all the settings correct and have it prepped right. ~Alex
  7. Mine varies by what comes to mind first... '91, The MJ, The Eliminator, The Jeep, The Truck... was going to have plates that said something like GIRSMJ, but went with the more natural show car style and it just says 91ELM8R. No pet names for the vehicles, then they might start demanding more expensive things then I'd like to get for em. :shake: ~Alex
  8. Rock, in the center of the hood on the drivers side? There is hood there? ... Oh wait! You didn't know about the Le Baron vents in the hood now did ya? It should look good once me and Pat get done with her once I get the money to drive her out there and wrench on it for awhile. I'll keep updates here for ya. heh Anyways, yea I remember when I got it one of the first things I did was paint the red that was behind the bumpers and stuff. I use to get compliments on my old '86 paintjob I did, which was just rustoleum rattle canned. Looked good till the oxidization started to kick in, but it was still all uniform in color so still didn't look bad. ~Alex
  9. Rattle cans. As said prep is key. My current truck has a Maaco paint job on it atm though and it looks like hell. Then entire bottom 3/4 of the truck is orange peeled. So when I do it next it will be rattle can, also makes for easy touch ups. Either that or I will go the Hardnose route with Por-15 under it so it is chip proof and whatnot. ~Alex
  10. Both sides would be great, really only need the bedside decals from one side though since they are the same. If you could also get a straight on pic of both doors that would probably help a lot too. Thanks. ~Alex
  11. Basically anything from the rear of the seats forward is XJ stuff. Anything behind that you are normally on your own with the exception of maybe a steel step rear bumper and stuff like AAL kits and the normal wear and tear parts. There really isn't any aftermarket support for the MJ. If you are specifically looking for roll bars or bed covers, a quick search here will turn up some stuff. A few people have had luck with Dakota, S-10, or Ranger bed stuff. ~Alex
  12. That is exactly what I'm looking for. If you could get those traced that would be a great help. :clapping: ~Alex
  13. CALLING ALL '91-'92 ELIMINATOR OWNERS! I talked with Spencer about getting the shadowed decals made up but he said it would be best if we could get an outline of the real ones from the trucks. What he would need is some craft paper rub transfers basically. He said he had someone do this with the Pioneer ones already for him. You'd lay the paper along the side of the truck and then use a stick of graphite or something and just rub over them. I would think the door section with the Eliminator wording, and the sections against the rear flare front and back would suffice. Then we could figure the length of the stripes easy enough. And only one set would need to be done since both the lighter and darker decals are the same. If no one is able to do this then we will work this out as best we can like him and I did with the older style ELIMINATOR ones. Thanks ~Alex
  14. The number would be great. It probably won't happen for a little while but will be something I want to do. Thanks. ~Alex
  15. That's not bad, might have to see what it would cost to have a cover modified to something along these lines. ~Alex
  16. Could this be done? Ideas on how to go about doing so? I've long been wanting to toss a cover on my bed but don't want to take my roll bar out, I'd rather have the roll bar then the bed cover but both would be grand. It would need to look good and obviously be watertight. Just thinking about the snap-on vinyl covers, not the hard ones or anything fancy. ~Alex
  17. Not too big on chrome, if I had my way the rollbar and bullbar would be black, but I hate to ruin good chrome. I might toss em on though if I find em, might make em stand out a bit better. If I can get em, they will be reflective for sure. And I'm sure he could do red for ya, but he said he doesn't like to do the reflective much since it dulls the die quicker. Thats why they cost a bit more. I got a deal with my original white ones since he had some laying around from a previous order that fell through. XD ~Alex
  18. I never noticed this post when I was scouting through here, but I have noticed this problem too since I'm back and posting. Not a single email notice to any posts I'm a part of anymore. :hmm: ~Alex
  19. I'd like to know if you notice anything as well. Run it for a bit and keep some tabs on your info and let us know how it pans out. ~Alex
  20. That thing is sharp, and do I spy clear front corners? ;) It is practically a cleaner looking twin of mine. Hard to believe that is the same size lift as mine, looks bigger. ~Alex
  21. POLL RULES: Pick an option from the [Paint] section. Then also pick a option from the [Decals] section. Looking for pics of Eliminators with the factory paint/decals still. The time to have mine painted is approaching it seems and I can not decide between colors or decals. Right now it has the older style decals of it saying ELIMINATOR on the side of the bed, even though it is a '91 and should have it "shadowed" on the doors. The main problem is that finding decal kits are near impossible if not so. Also not sure if when I have it painted it will be all black, black and white, all spinnaker blue, or spinnaker blue and black. No matter what color scheme, the bumpers and flares will be black. If I go with two colors I will probably put 3 or 4 pinstripes above the bottom color so it is more like the original setup and isn't a flat cutoff line. So lets see em! I'll start... All black... Black and White... Blue and Black mock-up (will have black decals, thanks for the base image Jeep Man! Hope ya don't mind. ) Image Not Found Let the posting begin! ~Alex EDIT: Added an all blue poll option.
  22. Maybe this will help. It can be completely taken out or replaced by an XJ one. Just depends what works for your setup you have in mind. Might be easier to just remove it with what you are thinking. Eliminating the Weight Distribution Brake Proportioning Valve ~Alex
  23. :agree: ... and this is after I use to work for GM. ~Alex
  24. I think everyone is familiar with mine around here, unless you've joined while I've been away. Oh, I purchased it off ^that guy^ above me. '91 Eliminator 4.0L HO AT 4x4, 3" lift with 31" tires on Grand Cherokee Canyon wheels. Overhead counsel, lighted vanity mirrors, and system control panel. And it now also has a complete front end with clear corners. Image Not Found ~Alex
