  1. I Bought mine 11 Years ago and didn't spend more then say $1500.00 into and $200 is what the truck cost... My Rebirth to a 98 MJ I have at around $18,000 not including My Labor costs into her and as Always I am not done... If Jeep would get off there arses and build the Gladiator Concept Truck I would have likely just bought a new truck but since they have not and its not looking good at this point since they have been promising to make it since 2005... When people give the old "why not just buy a new Truck" speech, I tell them to look at it like this " I want a New Jeep Pickup truck and since I can't buy one I have to build one" which usually shuts them up about it... And as with anything that is a one off its expensive to get it just right with all the test and tune and kinks to work out...
  2. Relay is up under the dash... Should look something like this...
  3. You looking for something like this the inner Shifter Boot...
  4. Well All I can say is Mopar used the same parts for each item so I would go by that over Novak however Novak may have modified their product to but slightly Different...
  5. Merry Christmas from the Great White North although its pretty Green right Now...
  6. Sorry Boys but the 304 uses the exact same flex plate/flywheel as the 4.2... Therefore no additional balancing required... Flex plate (Auto uses a flex plate manual uses a flywheel) 304 Part number J323 2138 258 4.2L Part Number J323 2138 I have done Numerous 304 V8 Swaps into Jeeps and Always used the 4.2L flexplate or Flywheel and all has worked out perfectly...
  7. They are the same Company Now as LKQ Took them over as well as Pro Body Parts... I just checked the site and they list them for $132.39 must be a location thing as they list them as in stock in Brampton... Either way they are a great product... https://ecat.crosscanadaparts.com/base/welcome.php?year=1998&make=JEEP&model=CHEROKEE_(MIDSIZE) Where are you located as I can sell them for less then retail if your near by Stoney Creek/Hamilton area... I didn't Install these ones myself but Originally I gave him the Cheapo ones and he didn't like them so I sent them back and ordered these in and I observed him mocking them up and they fit near perfectly....
  8. That's What I have but you now have to order the mounting hardware separate where when I bought mine it came as a kit... Its not the best looking but it serves its purpose...
  9. Should be. I didn't read the Edelbrock description page very thoroughly, but don't remember seeing anything about aluminum. Ah if you click the link it shows the Head at a Trade show so I would be thinking that they are displaying an Aluminum head that that's what the production would be...
  10. Being the 304 uses the Basic Jeep Bell housing bolt pattern, there shouldn't be any problems you just use the 4.0L XJ Flex plate and bolt up the AW4 and away you go using the 4.0L starter... Wiring the AW4 to shift properly is another story depending on how your planning the swap...
  11. There are spacers to lift the Throttle Bracket up the same amount as the TB Spacer so if you did not have them installed then you will need to install them or if you don't have any then you will need to make some make some...
  12. The Edelbrock Head will be Aluminum from what I have seen...
  13. I am an Offroad Shop and buy them thru my LKQ Keystone line but any LKQ Auto wreckers should be able to get them for you... They are not the cheapest option out there but I think they are one of the best options at least for my application anyways... RRP870 Passenger side RRP871 Driver side They Retail for $132.00 CDN so not sure what they will be for you locally but I would expect probably somewhere in the same area...
  14. I used the 2 door or 4 Door XJ Stamped Steel Rockers for my MJ... Previously used the el cheapo rockers that only lasted a couple years... This is the Before Paint Stamped Rockers installed... They are the Perfect fit but obviously need to be cut down to fit Image Not Found These are the exact ones I used...
  15. The Entry Inspection is a 1 time thing (at least here in Ontario) and as said it is just to make sure it meets safety Standard for the model essentially for example if the US didn't have a Catyletic converter and that Model in Canada Requires one then you need to add one etc... As for where I will buy one not sure yet and no preference just somewhere warm were the Salt has not eaten away at it... I am Familiar with buying things as I have been buying and selling cars for over 20 years just not in the US so thanks for the title info....
  16. Ya I have heard Horror Stories about the DMV.. The MOT is way easier, I f I say lost an ownership for a Say a parts truck I bought or the guy I got it from didn't give it to me I can just file out a form and pay $10.00 and get the "previous owner" to fill it out then I get a new ownership but if its mine I get it printed on the spot with ZERO wait time or BS... To bring a Car over and put it on the road I would need the title and a bill of sale, then take that to the MOT and they would then enter the info into the system also I have to get the vehicle inspected to make sure it meets the safety standards for the vehicle if it were always here and then that's it... If the vehicle is already here in Canada and No US title is with it then a Notarised letter saying that its yours and they will add it to the system and an ownership produced by the MOT should it not be any flags when the VIN is run... If I Buy a Truck down south I will not really care to put it on the road here as I would want the shell and just transplant my Truck into that truck making sure to keep records of the vehicles used to "repair" my truck... At least now I know If it does not come with the title or the title is not in the sellers name then say clear of it... Unless there is a Salvage type of exemption but I will look into that when the time comes... Thanks for the info
  17. I am not sure how Vehicle registration is in the US but I see more and More in these ads saying Lost the title so bill of sale only and I think How hard is it to replace the title in the US??? We Call it an Ownership and Should we lose it we make a Trip the MOT (Ministry of Transportation) and we say " I lost my Ownership" and they print me a New one as simple as that... What's the difficulty level in getting a title? I ask because I will be (time permitting) heading down south to buy a Good Used but not Rotten MJ in the near to distant future and this tidbit of info could be very useful...
  18. 4.0L AW4 3:73 gears and 35" tires
  19. Your 1990 AX15 should be a 23 spline already so it should be a direct bolt on...
  20. I have done this swap for a customer and did not have to Massage the Firewall at all, yes the core support had to modded to fit the 4.0L radiator and the mounts as mentioned are a bolt in swap...
  21. I'd add a top ring just to better distribute a better seal otherwise looks good and inexpensive
  22. Its not an interior drone issue just way to loud... I had the same Muffler on my Old Exhaust but With the tubing now a true 2.5" and the HP increase of the Engine its Damn loud although its not burned in completely yet as it is slowly quieting down but I doubt it will be enough... I will look into the Walker Performance Muffler but I want to keep everything Stainless...
  23. Ha Ha no worries.... The one pic does have it slipped on but that was just to figure out where I wanted to cut for the flange... to al the Great Projects out there and a Merry Christmas As well... Now All I need to do is get a new transmission and install it so I can enjoy all this HP under my Hood... and the Damn Truck is WAY too loud so I may have to swap Mufflers to something a little quieter but till I sort out the trans I am not changing just yet...
  24. Yes as I am running everything 97+ Sorry I thought that was clear in the pics where you see my Valve cover...
  25. Thanks it took a long time to mess around with to get as I wanted it, if you keep looking down the page I originally used Square flanges on my old exhaust which are cheap and easy to get at any auto parts store but with the Hot Rod kit it comes with ball flanges which is what I used as the first semi completed pic was a test fit... ON stock exhaust I always cut and weld in a square flange to be serviceable as it should have been that way from the factory...
